Orbis Modul Log / Mini Log / Mini T Log: Digital Time Switch
Model Numbers: MODUL LOG, MINI LOG, MINI T LOG
Instructions for Use
The Orbis MODUL LOG, MINI LOG, and MINI T LOG are digital time switches designed to control any electrical installation. They offer the capability to perform various operations: ON and OFF at a set time, short-duration operations or pulses (1 to 59 seconds), and repetitive cycles (1 to 59 seconds or 1 minute to 23 hours and 59 minutes). Additional features include automatic daylight saving time changes and 4 holiday periods. The menus can be displayed in multiple languages and show the current day's schedule on screen. Each unit features 1 independent, voltage-free switched circuit, allowing for the programming of up to 40 operations.
Installation
Warning: Installation and mounting of electrical devices must be performed by an authorized installer. Always disconnect power before proceeding with installation. The device is internally protected against interference, but strong electromagnetic fields may affect its function. To avoid interference:
- Do not install near inductive loads (motors, transformers, contactors, etc.).
- Consider a separate power supply line, possibly with a network filter.
- Inductive loads should be equipped with interference suppressors (varistor, RC filter).
- If used with other devices, ensure the combined unit does not generate parasitic disturbances.
Restore power only after the device is fully installed.
Mounting
These electronic control devices are designed for independent mounting:
- MODUL LOG: Surface mounting.
- MINI LOG: Surface mounting or 35 mm DIN rail mounting (according to EN 60715), utilizing the two lateral pre-cut slots.
- MINI T LOG: Surface mounting, 35 mm DIN rail mounting (according to EN 60715), or 72x72 panel flush mounting.
Connection
Connections are made via FASTON terminals (6.3x0.8 mm) or screw terminals. Ensure correct Phase and Neutral connections, as an incorrect connection can damage the device.
Start-up
The device requires power to operate. Upon power-up, the display illuminates to show the MAIN screen. When unpowered, the display remains off but retains all programming, date, and time settings for up to 4 years thanks to an internal lithium battery. If the device is unpowered, pressing the MENU/OK key temporarily activates the display for programming; it will turn off again after 5 seconds of inactivity.
The display shows the current schedule, time, date, and manual operation status. A low battery symbol [!] indicates when the battery needs replacement.
Manual Operation
The circuit state (ON/OFF) can be temporarily reversed manually from the main screen by pressing the OK key. The manual operation symbol [▶] will appear blinking on the screen for temporary changes or fixed for permanent manual operation until the key is pressed again.
Programming
Programming is menu-driven using four keys: MENU, OK, UP (▲), and DOWN (▼). The main menu is accessed from the standby screen by pressing OK. Navigate through menus using ▲/▼ and enter submenus with OK. Press C to go back to the previous menu. Program details blink on screen until confirmed.
There are 40 memory spaces (P-01 to P-40) for programming various operations:
- ON TYPE: Turns the circuit ON at a fixed time.
- OFF TYPE: Turns the circuit OFF at a fixed time.
- CYCLE TYPE: Repeats ON and OFF operations. Requires setting start time, duration for ON/OFF (seconds, minutes, or hours), and end time/day.
- PULSE TYPE: Turns the circuit ON for a set duration (1-59 seconds) at a fixed time.
Programs can be assigned to specific days of the week. Holiday periods can be programmed to override regular schedules.
Settings
The Settings menu allows configuration of:
- Clock: Set Year, Month, Day, Hour, Minute. Day of the week is calculated automatically.
- Language: Select the display language.
- Advanced:
- Permanent: Set permanent ON or OFF for channel C1.
- Holidays: Program up to 4 holiday periods.
- Meters: View and reset circuit ON-time (in hours).
- Season: Automatic Daylight Saving Time (DST) adjustment (active/inactive).
- PIN Code: Activate/deactivate keypad lock with a 4-digit PIN.
- 12H / 24H: Select time display format.
- Version: Displays the device's software version.
Priority order for operations: PERMANENT MODE > MANUAL > PROG_01 > PROG_02 ... > PROG_40.
Reset
A full reset (clearing all programming) can be performed by pressing C, then simultaneously pressing ▲ and ▼ for over 3 seconds while the device is powered. A quick reset (without clearing programming) is done by pressing all four keys simultaneously.
