Bicycle Classification and Intended Use

This document outlines the classification system for CUBE bicycles, detailing the intended use for each category. The system weight variations are due to the weight limits of installed components.

Note: The use of rear kickstands, mudguards, pannier racks, and trailers always modifies the intended use of a model within Category 2.

System Weight Specifications

The following table details the specifications for various CUBE bicycle models for the 2026 model year. All weights are based on a medium frame size and include fixed accessories. Additional luggage not placed on a rack is also included in the bike weight.

Notes on Weight Definitions:

• Bike Weight: Includes the weight of the bicycle (in a medium frame size), including attached accessories. Additional luggage not placed on a rack is also included. For models with different frame variants (diamond, trapezoidal, easy-entry), the indicated value refers to the diamond variant.
• Rider Weight: Refers to the weight of the rider and their equipment.
• Max Luggage / Support Load: The maximum load on a pannier rack only applies if a specialized dealer has installed one. This load is further limited by the use of a trailer. Lowrider capacity is max 10 kg, evenly distributed. Lowrider load does not affect pannier rack load and must be considered separately. Support load refers to the load on the rear axle and should not exceed 8 kg.
• Max Trailer Load: 60 kg is the maximum total authorized trailer mass, including load, considering the trailer manufacturer's load information.
• Max System Weight: The total maximum permissible mass. This must not be exceeded under any circumstances.
• The total authorized mass of the pannier rack is further limited by vertical load. Therefore, the trailer's vertical load must be deducted from the maximum pannier rack load.

Weight Limit Examples

The following examples illustrate how weight limits are applied:

• Example 1 (Valid): 17 kg (Bike) + 100 kg (Rider) + 23 kg (Luggage) = 140 kg (System Weight). ✔️
• Example 2 (Valid): 17 kg (Bike) + 75 kg (Rider) + 15 kg (Luggage) + 20 kg (Trailer) = 127 kg (System Weight). This example is shown with a checkmark, implying it's within limits, though the diagram shows 13kg trailer and 20kg luggage. The diagram shows 17kg bike + 75kg rider + 15kg luggage + 20kg trailer = 127kg system weight. • Example 3 (Invalid): 17 kg (Bike) + 100 kg (Rider) + 25 kg (Luggage) = 142 kg (System Weight). ❌ Note: The maximum system weight must not be exceeded.
• Example 4 (Invalid): 17 kg (Bike) + 75 kg (Rider) + 30 kg (Luggage) = 122 kg (System Weight). ❌ Note: The maximum luggage load must not be exceeded.
• Example 5 (Invalid): 17 kg (Bike) + 115 kg (Rider) = 132 kg (System Weight). ❌ Note: The maximum rider weight must not be exceeded.
• Example 6 (Invalid): 17 kg (Bike) + 70 kg (Rider) + 65 kg (Trailer) = 152 kg (System Weight). ❌ Note: The maximum trailer load must not be exceeded.
• Example 7 (Valid): 17 kg (Bike) + 8 kg (Support Load) = 25 kg. ✔️ This illustrates a valid scenario related to support load.
• Example 8 (Invalid): 17 kg (Bike) + 8 kg (Support Load) = 25 kg. ❌ Note: The trailer's support load must be deducted from the luggage load. This example highlights a potential issue or limit related to support load and its interaction with luggage capacity.
