This manual provides instructions for the Intermatic GMXFM1 electronic time switch.

Safety Precautions
- The connection and installation of electrical devices may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
- Interventions in and changes to the device result in the voiding of the warranty claim.
- Observe your national regulations and the respective safety provisions.
- Switch-off commands have priority over switch-on commands.
Symbols, Keys
General information
- The middle communication line shows the selectable menu item. If confirmed with OK, this item is activated.
- Flashing texts or symbols require an entry.
- If no entries are made within the next 2 minutes, the clock reverts to Auto mode.
Display Description:
- A: Function displays of the two left-hand buttons
- B: Channel status displays (e.g., 1 = Channel 1 ON, /-1 = Channel 1 OFF, Channel 1 = C1, Channel 2 = C2)
- C: Communication lines for time display, menu items, entry prompts etc.
- D: Day-of-week display
- E: Overview of daily switching program
- F: Display of daylight savings time
- G: Operating voltage (permanently lit dots) / Reserve power operation (dots flash)
- H: Function displays of the two right-hand buttons
Buttons Description:
- I (Reset): The programs are retained in the case of a reset. The date and time must be set again. Press reset button with a blunt object (pen).
- J (Right-hand buttons)
- K (Left-hand buttons with manual switch function in Automatic mode): ⬆️ scroll up in menu, ⬇️ scroll down in menu, ✔️ Select/reject suggestion, ✅ Select/accept suggestion, + Press briefly = +1 / Press and hold (approx. 2 sec) = +5, - Press briefly = -1 / Press and hold (approx. 2 sec) = -5
Initial Start - Up
Selection of menu language:
The time switch is delivered in Auto mode with a preset time, date, and the menu language English.
Follow the on-screen prompts to select the desired language (e.g., English, German, French).
Program Structure
The time switch has 50 memory spaces.
Creating a New Program:
- Select 'NEW' program and confirm with OK.
- The number of free memory spaces is briefly displayed.
- Select the channel and confirm with OK.
- Select day block or individual day (block formation as desired) and confirm with OK.
- Enter the hour for the ON command (+/-) and confirm with OK.
- Enter the minute for the ON command (+/-) and confirm with OK.
- Enter the hour for the OFF command (+/-) and confirm with OK.
- Enter the minute for the OFF command (+/-) and confirm with OK.
- The program is saved.
- The display jumps to the 'REVIEW, NEW, DELETE' selection. Additional programs can be created.
Viewing and Editing Programs:
- Program steps can be scrolled through using the up/down arrows.
- The respective program can be edited by pressing 'EDT'. The procedure is the same as when creating a new program.
Deleting All Programs:
- Select 'DELETE ALL' and confirm.
- Confirm with 'YES' to delete all programs.
- Pressing 'NO' allows individual programs to be deleted.
Deleting Individual Programs:
- Select 'DELETE' and confirm.
- Select the program to delete (e.g., P01 ON and P02 OFF) and confirm.
- Confirm the deletion with 'YES'.
Setting 24h or AM/PM Clock, Time and Weekday
The date and time are preset at the factory.
Setting the Date:
- Navigate to the 'DATETIME' menu.
- Set the YEAR, MONTH, and DAY using the +/- buttons and confirm with OK.
Setting the Time:
- Set the HOURS and MINUTES using the +/- buttons and confirm with OK.
Setting AM/PM (12-hour) or 24-hour display:
- Select '12H 24H' and choose between 'AM PM' or '24H' display.
Change for Daylight Savings Time
Settings for Daylight Savings Time:
- AUTO: Factory presetting of published calendar dates. This is automatically recalculated for each year.
- NO: No switchover.
- CALIBRAT: Programming for the start and ending date of daylight savings time. The factory presetting is overwritten. The programmed daylight savings time is automatically recalculated for each year. The changeover takes place on the same specified day of the week in the same week of each month.
To program daylight savings time:
- Select 'CALIBRAT'.
- Set the start month and day (e.g., SU START 03 MONTH, SU START 03:21 DAY).
- Set the end month and day (e.g., WI START 10 MONTH, WI START 10:31 DAY).
- Confirm the settings.
Operating Mode
Manual Override (OVR):
- OVR ON: Continuous ON until the next command is executed.
- OVR OFF: Continuous OFF until the next command is executed.
- Pressing the button 3 times returns the device to Auto mode.
Button Functions:
- Left-hand button = Channel 1
- Right-hand button = Channel 2 (only with 2-channel version)
