I. Safety Instructions

Thank you for purchasing our product. Please read this manual carefully before operating it.

• Do not disassemble or repair this product by yourself to avoid short circuits.

• Do not drop this product, or place it on hard surfaces, to prevent malfunctions.
• Do not use alcohol or other diluent liquids to clean the product surface, to prevent damage.
• Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for a long period of time.
• Please dispose of used batteries properly and do not treat them as ordinary waste.

II. Panel Description

Diagram Description: The pedal features controls and jacks on its top and front panels.

Top Panel Controls & Jacks:

• 1. DC9V Input Jack: A DC voltage input socket with center negative polarity, compatible with power adapters.
• 2. GAIN Control Knob: Adjusts the distortion level of the effect pedal's tone.
• 3. LEVEL Control Knob: Adjusts the overall output volume of the effect pedal.
• 4. ATTACK Control Knob: A 6-mode overdrive tone selection switch.
• 5. TONE Control Knob: Adjusts the brightness of the effect pedal's tone.
• 6. GATE Control Knob: Adjusts the threshold of the noise gate circuit, attenuating signals below the threshold to eliminate hum and noise.
• 7. 6.35mm Signal Output Jack: Connects to the input jack of a guitar amplifier.
• 8. 6.35mm Signal Input Jack: Connects to the electric guitar's output jack.
• 9. LED Indicator: Indicates when the effect is active or bypassed.
• 10. Footswitch: Allows switching between direct signal (bypass) and effect modes.

Front Panel: Features the JOYO logo, product name "ARGOS OVERDRIVE", and "TRUE BYPASS" indicator.

III. Battery Replacement

• Press the front of the battery cover and slide it back to remove. Take out the 9V 6F22 battery.
• Insert the new 9V battery into the compartment, ensuring the negative (-) pole faces inward. Close the battery cover by pressing it down until it clicks into place.

IV. Product Introduction

The ARGOS OVERDRIVE (JF-23) is an overdrive effects pedal that integrates multiple overdrive tones into a single unit, offering a variety of classic overdrive sounds. After testing numerous classic overdrive tones, six optimum tones have been selected and combined into this pedal. The ATTACK control knob provides diverse overdrive tone selections. It also features a built-in noise gate circuit with an adjustable threshold. By adjusting the GATE knob, guitarists can eliminate hum and other noises during performance pauses, ensuring a cleaner and more refined sound.

Conditions Not Covered by Warranty:

• Human-induced damage.
• Exceeding the warranty period.
• Absence of warranty card and valid invoice, unless proof of purchase within the warranty period is provided.
• Warranty card does not match the product model, or has been altered.
• Product damage caused by failure to use, maintain, or service according to the manual's requirements.
• Unauthorized disassembly, repair, immersion in water, or dropping of the product by JOYO company.
• Damage caused by other force majeure events.
