This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the BetterAir Biotica800 Ecological Balancing System. It covers safety precautions, installation, operation, specifications, and frequently asked questions to ensure optimal use and performance.
Important Safety Instructions
WARNING:
When using electric products, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
- Read all the instructions before using the product.
- To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary when a product is used near children.
- Do not put fingers or hands into the product.
- Do not repair or modify the unit.
- Do not alter the plug in any way.
- Do not use if the power cord or plug is damaged or the connection to the wall outlet is loose.
- Only use the cord provided by BetterAir.
- Do not damage, break, forcefully bend, pull, twist, bundle, coat, pinch, or place heavy objects on the power cord.
- Remove the power plug from the outlet before cleaning the unit. When removing the power plug, grasp by holding the plug itself, never hold by the cord.
- Do not handle the power plug with wet hands.
- Clean the unit with a dry fabric; do not use detergent to clean the unit.
- Do not use the unit on its side.
- Avoid swallowing and eye contact. If swallowed, drink 1-2 glasses of water. May cause gas or upset stomach. If eye contact occurs, rinse with water. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Cartridge Installation
Step 1
Slide and remove the white plastic cover of the Biotica800 Ecological Balancing System.

Shake the Enviro-Biotics™ cartridge well and remove the orange foil. Do not tilt the cartridge after opening.

Step 3
Gently slide the new Enviro-Biotics™ cartridge in the same direction of the arrow as far as it will go.

Step 4
Replace the white cover by sliding it back into place until it locks.

Programming
ON/OFF BUTTON
The BIOTICA800 will turn on automatically once it is plugged in. Press the [power button] in order to turn off the unit.
Where to locate your BIOTICA800
Your BIOTICA800 should be located out of the reach of young children or pets. Do not place the BIOTICA800 near an open door or a window that leads outdoors in order to obtain maximum coverage indoors.
The most common place recommended for placing your BIOTICA800 is in the bedroom, as that is where people generally spend most of their time at home plus that's where dust mite allergens are most common.
However, if you are combatting odor issues or pet allergens, we recommend placing the BIOTICA800 in proximity to where the odor emanates from or where the pets are located.
Remember the BIOTICA800 treats an area up to 800 Sq.Ft. and placement of the unit is critical to combating your particular issue and achieving its benefits. For example: If you are combatting a stale and moldy smell from your basement, it will provide no relief if it is placed in the kitchen.
Installation Options
Wall mounted installation
Drill two screw holes into the wall in order to fasten the Wall Mounting Bracket to the wall. It is recommended to position the BIOTICA800 in proximity to an air flow to aid in the dispersion of the Enviro-Biotics.
Make sure that there is an electric outlet in proximity so the electric cord can reach the unit.
Flat surface installation
Alternatively to using the Wall Mount, you may place the BIOTICA800 on any flat surface (nightstand, countertop etc.) and stabilize it with the provided pedestals.
For best results, place the BIOTICA800 nearby a bed, close to a carpeted area, table tops, bookcases, shelves etc. It is recommended to position the BIOTICA800 in proximity to an air flow to aid in the dispersion of the Enviro-Biotics.
Power Connection
Connect the BIOTICA800 power converter plug into an outlet after inserting the DC end into the "charge" receptacle located on the side of the BIOTICA800 below the operating buttons and place the unit in the desired location. The unit will activate immediately and disburse a "dose" of Enviro-Biotics™.
CAUTION
Do not place directly under lights or other heat sources over 100 degrees. Damage to the Biotica800 may occur.
Operating Buttons
The Biotica800 features several buttons for operation:
- [power button] Power Button: Turns the unit on or off. The unit automatically turns on when plugged in.
- [snowflake button] Snowflake Button: Press to immediately release an extra "dose" of Enviro-BioticSTM.
- [pause button] Pause Button: Puts the device on standby mode for 10 hours. When activated, the orange [10 HR indicator] light will be illuminated. The BIOTICA800 makes a small amount of sound while operating and dispersing Enviro-Biotics™. Activating pause mode places the unit into standby mode (no pump operation) for a ten-hour period each night. The pause will have no effect on the coverage achieved as the frequency of disbursement is increased.

Status Indicator Lights
The BIOTICA800 has a multifunction "Status" [status indicator] which reflects:
- Solidly lit Green light: Unit is on and in standby mode.
- Blinking Green light: Unit is disbursing Enviro-Biotics.
- Solidly lit RED light: The Enviro-Biotic cartridge is low and has approximately two weeks of probiotics remaining.
- Blinking RED light: The Enviro-Biotic cartridge is empty and requires replacement with a new cartridge.

Replacement Enviro-Biotic Cartridges
The Enviro-Biotics™ cartridge requires replacement approximately every three months (depending on the frequency of manual dispersion). Replacement Enviro-Biotics cartridges can be purchased at www.BetterAirUS.com. BetterAir also offers an auto-ship program for the cartridges.

FAQ's
Q: When I first place the cartridge into my BIOTICA and plug it in, bubbles come out of the top of the unit.
A: This is normal because the cartridge is shaken prior to initial installation. Just wipe the bubbles away. They will subside shortly.
Q: How long will my Enviro-Biotics™ cartridge last and how do I obtain replacement Enviro-Biotics™ Cartridges?
A: Your Enviro-Biotic™ cartridge is designed to last approximately three months and then will require replacement. Replacement cartridges are available at www.BetterAirUS.com. BetterAir also offers an auto ship program to insure that you never run out.
Q: How long is the BIOTICA warranty?
A: The BIOTICA800 is warrantied free from defects in manufacture for a period of one year from the purchase date. Please register your BIOTICA at www.BetterAirUS.com.
Q: What does the red light on the power converter mean?
A: When illuminated, it shows that the voltage conversion from AC to DC is operating and the receptacle is active.
