Quick Start Guide

Follow these steps to connect and format your Seagate Game Drive for PlayStation consoles.

Connection and Setup

  1. Step 1: Connect the Drive

    Connect the Seagate Game Drive to your PlayStation console using the provided USB cable. Place the drive at least 10 cm (4 inches) away from the console to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI).

  2. Step 2: Navigate Console Settings

    Access your console's settings menu to format the drive. The path differs slightly between PS5 and PS4:

    • For PS5 Console: Navigate to Settings > Storage > USB Extended Storage > Format as USB Extended Storage.
    • For PS4 Console: Navigate to Settings > Devices > USB Storage Devices > Game Drive > Format as Extended Storage.

  3. Step 3: Format the Drive

    Follow the on-screen prompts to format the Game Drive. This action will erase all data on the drive. Ensure any important data is backed up before proceeding.

Important Information

  • Placement: To minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI), place the Game Drive at least 10 cm (4 in) from the PlayStation® console.
  • Safe Removal: To protect your data, always follow the safe removal procedures for your operating system when disconnecting your product.
