Introduction

If you are looking to maximize sound in your Polaris Slingshot, consider adding these durable Polyethylene side panel Pods by DS18. These Pods are designed to fit a shallow 6.5" speaker (not included) and one 1.7" tweeter (not included). They come in pairs (Driver & Passenger) with a black textured finish to match the factory's look. Installation is very easy, using the supplied bolts and brackets that fit directly into place.

Installation

Preparation: Start by moving the vehicle seats all the way forward for easy access to the installation area. Removal of the seats is optional but can facilitate easier installation on both driver and passenger sides.

Step 1: Mount the Pod

1. Secure the front side of the speaker pod. This involves removing a factory plastic clip that secures the vehicle's factory plastic side panel to a bracket welded to the chassis tube.
2. Use the supplied long screw with a washer and bolt it through the factory hole, the speaker pod, and into the chassis bracket. Tighten by hand using a screwdriver.

Step 2: Assemble Rear Bracket

3. Assemble the rear bracket to the driver side speaker pod using two (2) M6 Washers and two (2) M6 Screws per bracket.
4. The bracket should remain loosely hand-tightened during this step.

Step 3: Install Speakers and Tweeter

4. Install the speakers into the pod using the speaker wires included.
5. Use the same wiring line to connect the tweeter. Ensure you use a bass blocker filter if applicable.
6. Secure the speakers using the provided stainless steel screws. Tighten them carefully to avoid over-tightening, which could damage the mounting holes.

Step 4: Final Tightening

5. Once the speaker pod is resting in its final position, you can go ahead and fully tighten the rear bracket.

Step 5: Install Passenger Side Pod

Repeat steps 2-4 to install the passenger side speaker pod.

Important Note on Amplifier

This kit requires an aftermarket amplifier to be pre-installed. The amplifier must be capable of handling a 2-ohm load per channel. Connect the speaker pods to the aftermarket amplifier's speaker wires only after the amplifier is installed and configured.
