Type, Format, and Estimated Volume of Product Data

Note: As used in this Disclosure, “product data” means raw and pre-processed data generated by the use of a connected product that Dell has designed to be retrievable.

The connected product is capable of generating various types of data. However, the actual generation and retrieval of such data depends on the installation and configuration of specific Dell applications or services, as well as customer choices. For purposes of this disclosure, we assume all default related services listed below are installed on the connected product and the customer has consented to telemetry transmission to Dell.

Related Services

The following related services are installed on the connected product by default. Please refer to the applicable Data Act Related Services Data Disclosure for additional information:

Dell Optimizer (UUE – Unified User Experience)
SupportAssist OS Recovery
Dell Purchased Apps/Alienware Purchased Apps
Dell SupportAssist (For Home Users)

Note: The availability and behavior of these services may vary depending on the product model, default software installation, customer deployment choices, and telemetry configuration. The types, volume, and frequency of product data may differ accordingly.

Retention periods for product data are also specified in the respective Related Services Data Notices.

Continuous and Real-Time Data Generation

The connected product continuously generates product data in real time.

Product Data Storage

On-Device Storage: The connected product stores product data locally on the device.
Remote Storage: The connected product stores product data on remote, Dell-managed servers.

Access and Deletion of Data

Access: Users can review a copy of their product data currently in Dell's possession by visiting the Dell Privacy Center and selecting Request Data Access, then choosing the EU Data Act request option. If product data is accessible directly on the device, instructions for doing so can be found in the product documentation.
Deletion: If product data is accessible directly on the device, instructions for deleting it can be found in the product documentation.

Operating System Data Practices

For information regarding data practices related to the operating system (OS) of the connected product, including telemetry, diagnostics, or usage data, please refer to the applicable data notice or privacy documentation provided by the OS developer or data controller (e.g., Microsoft, Google, Canonical). Dell does not control or determine the data collected by third-party operating systems.
