Mount the Camera

Mounting Tips

  • Do not point the camera towards light sources.
  • Do not point the camera at a glass window. Otherwise, reflections from the spotlight, ambient light, or status LEDs may result in poor image quality.
  • Do not place the camera in a shadow or point it towards a well-lit area. Otherwise, image quality may be poor. To ensure the best image quality, the lighting conditions of the camera and the subject should be uniform.
  • For better image quality, it is recommended to clean the lens with a soft cloth periodically.
  • Ensure that the power ports are not directly exposed to water or moisture and are not blocked by dirt or other elements.
  • Due to its IP water resistance rating, the camera can function properly in conditions like rain and snow. However, this does not mean the camera can operate underwater.
  • Do not mount the camera in locations where rain and snow can directly hit the lens.

Camera Mounting Steps

  1. Holding and pressing the top of the camera, rotate it counter-clockwise to detach the mounting plate from the camera. NOTE: Refer to the actual product you received. If the mounting plate is packed separately, you can skip this step.
  2. Using the mounting hole template, drill holes and screw the mounting plate to the mounting holes on the ceiling. NOTE: Use the included drywall anchors if needed.
  3. Align the camera with the mounting plate and rotate it clockwise to lock it securely. Note that these two dots should be in line, which means the camera is locked correctly. NOTE: Feed the cable through the cable cutout on the mounting base.
  4. Once the camera is mounted, you can manually rotate the camera body to adjust the camera's viewing angle.

Troubleshooting

Camera Does Not Power On

If the camera does not power on, try the following solutions:

  • Ensure the camera is properly powered. The PoE camera should be powered by a PoE switch/injector, Reolink NVR, or a 12V power adapter.
  • If the camera is connected to a PoE device as mentioned above, try connecting the camera to another PoE port to see if it powers on.
  • Try again with a different Ethernet cable.

If these steps do not help, contact Reolink support at https://support.reolink.com.

Image is Unclear

If the camera image is unclear, try the following solutions:

  • Check if there is any dirt, dust, or cobwebs on the camera lens, and clean the lens with a soft, clean cloth.
  • Point the camera to a well-lit area, as lighting conditions will greatly affect image quality.
  • Update the camera's firmware to the latest version.
  • Restore the camera to factory settings and check again.

If these steps do not help, contact Reolink support at https://support.reolink.com.
