Indication for Use

The Femometer Ring is intended to measure and display physiological parameters (skin temperature, body movement during sleep) to aid in ovulation prediction and facilitate conception menstrual cycle tracking. It is not to be used for contraception.

Safety Information

The Femometer Ring is not intended to measure fever or diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. The information and guidance provided are for informational purposes only and cannot replace the services of health professionals or physicians. Always consult a physician if you have questions regarding a medical condition or any changes you intend to make to your sleep or activity based on the ring's information.

Femometer is not responsible for health problems resulting from the information or guidance received. If you make changes to your sleep or activity based on Femometer services, you do so at your own risk.

Note: Do not use the Femometer Ring if you have an electronic implanted device (e.g., a pacemaker).

If you experience redness or skin irritation on your finger due to the ring, remove it immediately. If symptoms persist longer than 2-3 days of not using your ring, please contact a dermatologist.

Use, Care and Maintenance

Clean the ring with a soft cloth or hand wash with mild soap and water.

Avoid wearing the ring during strength training, working with heavy tools, or carrying heavy objects made of metal, ceramics, or stone. Also, avoid wearing the ring next to other rings or objects made of metal, ceramics, stones, or diamonds.

Keep the ring away from children. This product is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. Seek immediate medical attention if a child has swallowed the ring. Do not expose the ring to heat (e.g., in a vehicle or direct sunlight). Do not puncture the ring or its battery.

Dispose of the ring (and internal battery) in accordance with applicable local laws and regulations. Special disposal may be required. The charger is an electronic device and local legislation for electronics recycling should be followed.

Precautions

  • If the user's menstrual cycles are shorter than 24 or longer than 35 days, prediction results may be incomplete or inaccurate.
  • The product is not designed for use by women with PCOS.
  • The ring can only measure the skin temperature of the finger. It cannot be used to measure the temperature of other body parts, air, water, or other objects.
  • The ring is IPX7 waterproof and can be worn while washing hands, but should be removed during showers, baths, and swimming.
  • Circumstances that may affect predictions include: Irregular cycles / Irregular sleep / Fever / Working night shifts / Insomnia / Use of temperature-affecting medications / Alcohol / Extensive smoking.
  • Consult your physician if you are not yet pregnant after six months of actively trying to conceive using this product.
  • Consult your physician prior to use if you have tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, or other musculoskeletal disorders.

Warnings

  • Do not expose the device to consumer products containing ethanol (e.g., perfume, insect repellent) as they may damage the device.
  • No modification of this equipment is allowed.
  • Do not place on flammable surfaces when charging.
  • Only use the Femometer charger provided with the device.

How to Use

  1. Charge the ring for at least one hour before its first use. (Diagram shows ring being placed on a charger).
  2. Download the Femometer App from the App Store or Google Play store and create an account. (Images show App Store/Google Play logos).
  3. Pair the ring while it's charging, with the App and following the onscreen instructions. (Screenshots show pairing process).
  4. Wear the ring on the base of the index finger (or middle and ring fingers, depending on comfort). The sensor (flat part) should be towards the palmar side of your hand (bottom of your finger). (Diagram shows ring placement on finger and sensor orientation).
  5. Wear the ring at night for at least four hours of sleep. You can start on any day of your cycle. Wear the ring every night for best predictions; loss of data may lead to inaccurate predictions.
  6. Open the Femometer App every morning to upload your finger temperature and sleep time.
  7. Remove the ring and charge it if the battery is low.

Notes:

  • Keep the phone's screen on and do not switch to other applications during data transmission.
  • Make sure to wear the ring during sleep every night for the best prediction.
  • Your fingers may swell in heat or depending on the time of day, making the ring difficult to remove. If the ring gets stuck:
    • Use water and soap to wet your finger, and slowly twist the ring to remove it.
    • Hold your hand up above your shoulder, and try to remove the ring after a couple of minutes when the blood pressure is lowered.
    • In case of emergency or discomfort, if you cannot remove the ring yourself, seek immediate medical attention.

How to Charge

  1. The LED on the ring flashes every 10 seconds to indicate low battery.
  2. Connect the charging stand to a 5V USB power supply, then put the ring on the charger. (Diagram shows ring on charger).
  3. The LED on the charger flashes indicating charging and stays static when fully charged. If the LED does not light up, check power supply connection and ring placement.

Notes:

  • Use only the charger provided by Femometer.
  • The ring needs to be charged within a month of being received.
  • If not used for a long time, ensure it is fully charged at least once every month to avoid device failure due to battery exhaustion.
  • Do not charge a wet ring.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. Daytime Wear: Optional, but recommended every night for best predictions.
  2. Prediction Start: Baseline temperature recording for 1-2 full cycles is needed before predicting the next cycle.
  3. Waterproof: Ring is IPX7 waterproof (wear while washing hands). Remove during showers, baths, swimming. Charger is not waterproof.
  4. Fit Adjustment: Finger size varies. Switch fingers if uncomfortable. For accuracy, wear on one finger for a full cycle if possible.
  5. Accuracy: ±0.1°C (30-37°C) or ±0.18°F (86-98.6°F), resolution 0.01.
  6. Fever/Infection Detection: Not a medical device. Not for diagnosing, treating, curing, or preventing medical conditions. Consult a doctor before making changes to medication, routines, diet, sleep, or exercise.
  7. Storage when not in use: Fully charge at least once a month to prevent battery failure.

Troubleshooting

Error Cause Action
Ring won't pair with App. No charge. / Phone's Bluetooth is off. Charge ring, try pairing again. / Turn on phone Bluetooth and try pairing.

Warranty

This Limited Warranty Policy is offered by Femometer Inc.

Femometer warrants the product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of purchase. Local laws requiring longer warranty periods will be honored.

During the warranty period, Femometer will repair or replace defective components at no charge. User is responsible for transportation charges. Replacements may be new or refurbished.

This limited warranty does not apply to: normal wear and tear, consumable parts (unless product damage is due to defect), damage from failure to use the product per instructions, accident, misuse, unauthorized service, or use with non-Femometer applications.

Femometer reserves the right to repair, replace, or offer a full refund at its sole discretion. This is the sole and exclusive remedy for warranty breach.

Warranty repairs and replacements are covered for ninety (90) days or the remainder of the original one (1) year warranty, whichever is longer.

Limitation of Liability

Femometer, its agents, and partners shall not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from the use or inability to use the services, content, or associated sites/services. This includes direct, indirect, special, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including personal injury, emotional distress, loss of revenue, profits, business, goodwill, or data, whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract, or otherwise, even if foreseeable.

These exclusions or limitations apply regardless of whether Femometer was warned of the possibility of such damages.

Liability cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. In no event shall Femometer be liable for any claim in excess of $100.

Operation is subject to two conditions: 1) this device may not cause interference, and 2) this device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

Radiation Exposure: This equipment complies with Canada radiation exposure limits for uncontrolled environments.

If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

  • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
  • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
  • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
