Safety Precautions

Safety Rules and Recommendations for the Installer

  1. Read this guide before installing and using the appliance.
  2. During the installation of the indoor and outdoor units, access to the working area should be forbidden to children. Unforeseeable accidents could happen.
  3. Make sure that the base of the outdoor unit is firmly fixed.
  4. Check that air cannot enter the refrigerant system and check for refrigerant leaks when moving the air conditioner.
  5. Carry out a test cycle after installing the air conditioner and record the operating data.
  6. Protect the indoor unit with a fuse of suitable capacity for the maximum input current or with another overload protection device.
  7. Ensure that the mains voltage corresponds to that stamped on the rating plate. Keep the switch or power plug clean. Insert the power plug correctly and firmly into the socket, thereby avoiding the risk of electric shock or fire due to insufficient contact.
  8. Check that the socket is suitable for the plug, otherwise have the socket changed.
  9. The appliance must be fitted with means for disconnection from the supply mains having a contact separation in all poles that provide full disconnection under "over voltage category III conditions", and these means must be incorporated in the fixed wiring in accordance with the wiring rules.
  10. The air conditioner must be installed by professional or qualified persons.
  11. Do not install the appliance at a distance of less than 50 cm from inflammable substances (alcohol, etc.) Or from pressurized containers (e.g. spray cans).
  12. If the appliance is used in areas without the possibility of ventilation, precautions must be taken to prevent any leaks of refrigerant gas from remaining in the environment and creating a danger of fire.
  13. The packaging materials are recyclable and should be disposed of in the separate waste bins. Take the air conditioner at the end of its useful life to a special waste collection center for disposal.
  14. Only use the air conditioner as instructed in this booklet. These instructions are not intended to cover every possible condition and situation. As with any electrical household appliance, common sense and caution are therefore always recommended for installation, operation and maintenance.
  15. The appliance must be installed in accordance with applicable national regulations.
  16. Before accessing the terminals, all the power circuits must be disconnected from the power supply.
  17. The appliance shall be installed in accordance with national wiring regulations.
  18. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
  19. Do not try to install the conditioner alone, always contact specialized technical personnel.
  20. Cleaning and maintenance must be carried out by specialized technical personnel. In any case disconnect the appliance from the mains electricity supply before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance.
  21. Ensure that the mains voltage corresponds to that stamped on the rating plate. Keep the switch or power plug clean. Insert the power plug correctly and firmly into the socket, thereby avoiding the risk of electric shock or fire due to insufficient contact.
  22. Do not pull out the plug to switch off the appliance when it is in operation, since this could create a spark and cause a fire, etc.
  23. This appliance has been made for air conditioning domestic environments and must not be used for any other purpose, such as for drying clothes, cooling food, etc.
  24. Always use the appliance with the air filter mounted. The use of the conditioner without air filter could cause an excessive accumulation of dust or waste on the inner parts of the device with possible subsequent failures.
  25. The user is responsible for having the appliance installed by a qualified technician, who must check that earthing/grounding is done in accordance with current legislation and insert a thermos magnetic circuit breaker.
  26. The batteries in the remote controller must be recycled or disposed of properly. For disposal of scrap batteries, please discard the batteries as sorted municipal waste at the accessible collection point.
  27. Never remain directly exposed to the flow of cold air for a long time. The direct and prolonged exposition to cold air could be dangerous for your health. Particular care should be taken in the rooms where there are children, old or sick people.
  28. If the appliance gives off smoke or there is a smell of burning, immediately cut off the power supply and contact the Service Center.
  29. The prolonged use of the device in such conditions could cause fire or electrocution.
  30. Have repairs carried out only by an authorised Service Center of the manufacturer. Incorrect repair could expose the user to the risk of electric shock, etc.
  31. Unhook the automatic switch if you foresee not to use the device for a long time. The airflow direction must be properly adjusted.
  32. The flaps must be directed downwards in the heating mode and upwards in the cooling mode.
  33. Ensure that the appliance is disconnected from the power supply when it will remain inoperative for a long period and before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance.
  34. Selecting the most suitable temperature can prevent damage to the appliance.

Safety Rules and Prohibitions

  1. Do not bend, tug or compress the power cord since this could damage it. Electrical shocks or fire are probably due to a damaged power cord. Specialized technical personnel only must replace a damaged power cord.
  2. Do not use extensions or gang modules.
  3. Do not touch the appliance when barefoot or parts of the body are wet or damp.
  4. Do not obstruct the air inlet or outlet of the indoor or the outdoor unit. The obstruction of these openings causes a reduction in the operative efficiency of the conditioner with possible consequent failures or damages.
  5. In no way alter the characteristics of the appliance.
  6. Do not install the appliance in environments where the air could contain gas, oil or sulphur or near sources of heat.
  7. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  8. Do not climb onto or place any heavy or hot objects on top of the appliance.
  9. Do not leave windows or doors open for long when the air conditioner is operating.
  10. Do not direct the airflow onto plants or animals.
  11. A long direct exposition to the flow of cold air of the conditioner could have negative effects on plants and animals.
  12. Do not put the conditioner in contact with water. The electrical insulation could be damaged and thus causing electrocution.
  13. Do not climb onto or place any objects on the outdoor unit.
  14. Never insert a stick or similar object into the appliance. It could cause injury.
  15. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

The display and some functions of the remote control may vary according to the model. The shape and position of buttons and indicators may vary according to the model, but their function is the same. The unit confirms the correct reception of each button with a beep.

Replacement of Batteries

Remove the battery cover plate from the rear of the remote control by sliding it in the direction indicated by the arrow. Install the batteries according to the direction (+ and -) shown on the Remote Control. Reinstall the battery cover by sliding it into place.

Use 2 pieces LRO3 AAA (1.5V) batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries. Replace the old batteries with new ones of the same type when the display is no longer legible. Do not dispose of batteries as unsorted municipal waste. Collection of such waste separately for special treatment is necessary.

For some models of the remote controller, open the battery cover, and you can see the manual switch at the bottom. Then you can select the Cooling only or Heating pump operation as below:

1. Direct the remote control toward the Air conditioner. 2. Check that there are no objects between the remote control and the Signal receptor in the indoor unit. 3. Never leave the remote control exposed to the rays of the sun. 4. Keep the remote control at a distance of at least 1m from the television or other electrical appliances.

Operation Instructions

Operating Modes

Heating Operation Notes:

FAN SPEED Function

Press the FAN button to cycle through fan speeds: AUTO / MUTE / LOW / LOW-MID / MID / MID-HIGH / HIGH / TURBO.

Child-Lock Function

Long press MODE and TIMER buttons together to activate or deactivate this function. When active, no single button will function.

TIMER Function (TIMER ON/OFF)

TIMER ON: To automatically switch on the appliance. When the unit is switched off, press TIMER. The display will show "5" and "50k" flashing. Use or to set the desired Timer-on time (0-10 hours increments of 0.5 hours, 10-24 hours increments of 1 hour). Press TIMER again to confirm. Then set the desired mode, fan speed, and temperature.

TIMER OFF: To automatically switch off the appliance. When the unit is switched on, press TIMER. Use or to set the desired Timer-off time. Press TIMER again to confirm.

Cancel Timer: Press the TIMER button.

All programming should be operated within 5 seconds, otherwise the setting will be cancelled.

SWING Function

This adjustment must be done while the appliance is switched off. Never position "Flaps" manually, as the delicate mechanism might get seriously damaged! Never put fingers, sticks or other objects into the air inlet or outlet vents.

TURBO Function

Press the TURBO button to activate quick cooling or heating with the highest fan speed. Press again to cancel.

MUTE Function

Press MUTE to activate (displays ?). The indoor unit operates at the lowest fan speed for quietness. Press again to deactivate. The MUTE function will be cancelled if FAN or TURBO buttons are pressed. MUTE function cannot be activated under DRY mode.

SLEEP Function

Press SLEEP to activate (displays ?). After 10 hours in sleep mode, the air conditioner reverts to the previously set mode.

I FEEL Function (Optional)

Press IFEEL to activate (displays ?️). The remote control measures the ambient temperature and sends the signal to the air conditioner to optimize comfort. It automatically deactivates after 8 hours.

ECO Function

Press the ECO button (displays ?) to activate energy-saving mode. Available in COOLING and HEATING modes.

DISPLAY Function

Press the DISPLAY button to switch the LED display on the indoor unit panel on or off.

ANTI-MILDEW Function (Optional)

Press ANTI-MILDEW (displays ?) to activate. After running COOL/DRY for over 30 minutes, the unit blows airflow for about 15 minutes to dry the interior and prevent mildew. Available only in DRY/COOLING mode.

SELF-CLEAN Function (Optional)

For some inverter heat pump appliances: Turn off the indoor unit, then press SWING ↕️ and SWING ↔️ simultaneously. "[AC]" will appear on the remote and indoor displays. This function cleans the indoor evaporator. It runs for about 30 minutes and returns to the pre-setting mode. Press the power button to cancel. It's normal to hear some noise during this process. Suggested operation every 3 months under specific ambient temperature conditions.

8°C Heating Function (Optional)

Long press ECO button for over 3 seconds to activate (displays "8°C"). The unit automatically starts heating when room temperature drops below 8°C and returns to standby when it reaches 9°C. The function cancels automatically if the room temperature exceeds 18°C.

Gentle Wind Function (Optional)

Turn on the indoor unit, set to COOL mode, then long press FAN and MUTE buttons together for 3 seconds to activate (displays "ㅁ"). This function closes the vertical flaps for a gentle airflow.

Health Function (Optional)

Turn on the indoor unit, then long press SLEEP and DISPLAY buttons together for 3 seconds to activate (displays "❤️"). The Ionizer/Plasma/UVC lights (depending on models) are energized.

GEN Function (Optional)

Turn on the indoor unit, then long press MUTE for 3 seconds to activate. Short press MUTE to select General type: L3 - L2 - L1 - OF. Select OF and wait 2 seconds to exit.

If the indoor unit displays "OA", raise the operating gear of the GEN mode; the compressor will restart after a 3-minute stop.

Operation Temperature Range

Attempting to use the air conditioner outside the specified temperature range may activate the protection device, causing the unit to fail to operate. Use within the following conditions:

With the power supply connected, restarting the air conditioner after shutdown or switching modes during operation will activate the compressor protection device. The compressor will resume operation after 3 minutes.

Emergency Button

Open the front panel to access the emergency button on the electronic control box. Always press the emergency button with insulation material.

Cable Connection Between IDU To ODU

Plug the connective cables to the corresponding terminals, as shown. For example, Terminal (A) of the outdoor unit must connect with Terminal (A) on the indoor unit. In addition, install the cable with the same color for the same terminal remark, both indoor and outdoor unit.

Indoor Unit Installation

Step 1: Select Installation Location

  1. Ensure the installation complies with the minimum dimensions and meets the connecting piping length and elevation change requirements.
  2. Keep air inlet and outlet clear of obstructions for proper airflow.
  3. Ensure condensate can be drained easily and safely.
  4. Ensure all connections can be made easily to the outdoor unit.
  5. Install the indoor unit out of reach of children.
  6. The mounting wall must be strong enough to withstand four times the unit's weight and vibration.
  7. Ensure filter access for cleaning.
  8. Leave enough space for routine maintenance.
  9. Install at least 3 meters (10 ft.) away from TV or radio antennas to avoid interference. An amplifier may be required if reception is weak.
  10. Do not install in laundry rooms or near swimming pools due to corrosive environments.
  11. Mount with the lowest moving parts at least 2.4 meters (8 ft.) above floor or grade level.

Minimum Indoor Clearances

Ensure the following minimum clearances around the indoor unit:

Step 2: Install Mounting Plate

  1. Remove the mounting plate from the back of the indoor unit.
  2. Position the mounting plate on the wall, ensuring it meets the minimum installation dimensions. Mark screw hole positions.
  3. Drill holes at the marked positions and insert expansion rubber plugs.
  4. Hang the mounting plate and fix it securely with screws.

(I) Make sure the mounting plate is firm and flat against the wall after installation. (II) The figure shown may differ from the actual object; use the latter as the standard.

Step 3: Drill Wall Hole

A hole is needed for refrigerant piping, drainage pipe, and connecting cables.

  1. Determine the wall hole location based on the mounting plate position.
  2. The hole should have a minimum diameter of 70mm and a slight oblique angle downwards towards the outside to facilitate drainage.
  3. Drill the hole using a 70mm core drill.
  4. Use a wall sleeve and wall sleeve cover (optional) to protect the connections.

When drilling the wall hole, ensure you avoid wires, plumbing, and other sensitive components.

Step 4: Connecting Refrigerant Pipe

  1. Select the appropriate piping mode based on the wall hole position. For Piping Modes 1 or 3, cut the plastic sheet at the piping and cable outlets on the indoor unit.
  2. Bend the connecting pipes with the port facing upwards.
  3. Remove plastic covers from pipe ports and protective covers from piping connectors. Ensure ports are clean.
  4. Align the centers and hand-tighten the connecting pipe nuts.
  5. Use a torque wrench to tighten according to the torque values specified in the "Torque Requirements" table.
  6. Wrap the joint with insulation pipe.

Step 5: Connect Drainage Hose

  1. If your model has drainage ports on both sides, attach the drainage hose to one port and plug the unused port with the provided rubber.
  2. Connect the drainage hose to the drainage port, ensuring a firm and sealed connection.
  3. Wrap the joint firmly with Teflon tape to prevent leaks.

Ensure the drainage hose has no twists or dents and is placed obliquely downwards to ensure proper drainage and prevent blockage.

Step 6: Connect Wiring

  1. Choose cables of the appropriate size based on the maximum operating current (refer to "Installation Precautions").
  2. Open the front panel of the indoor unit and the electric control box cover.
  3. Unscrew the cable clamp.
  4. Insert the cable into the control box from the back of the indoor unit.
  5. Connect the wires to the corresponding terminals according to the wiring diagram inside the control box cover, ensuring secure connections.
  6. Screw the cable clamp to fasten the cables.
  7. Reinstall the electric control box cover and front panel.

Step 7: Wrap Piping and Cable

Bundle the refrigerant pipes, connecting wires, and drainage hose together with insulating tape for space-saving, protection, and insulation before passing them through the wall hole.

  1. Arrange the pipes, cables, and drainage hose as shown in the diagram, ensuring the drainage hose is at the bottom and avoiding crossing or bending.
  2. Wrap the bundle tightly with insulating tape.

Step 8: Mount Indoor Unit

  1. Pass the wrapped bundle through the wall hole.
  2. Hook the top of the indoor unit onto the mounting plate.
  3. Apply slight pressure to the sides of the unit to ensure it is securely hooked.
  4. Push down the bottom of the indoor unit to engage the snaps onto the mounting plate hooks.

If pipes and wires are embedded in the wall or need to be connected on the wall surface, hook the unit first, then prop it up with the bracket on the mounting plate to create space for operation. Proceed with piping, wiring, and drainage connections as per steps 4 to 7.

Outdoor Unit Installation

Step 1: Select Installation Location

Choose a location that meets the following criteria:

Ensure the following minimum clearances around the outdoor unit:

Step 2: Install Drainage Hose

This step is for heat pump models or RCACs. Insert the drainage joint into the hole at the bottom of the outdoor unit and connect the drainage hose securely.

Step 3: Fix Outdoor Unit

  1. Mark installation positions for expansion bolts according to the outdoor unit dimensions.
  2. Drill holes, clean dust, and insert bolts.
  3. If applicable, install 4 rubber blankets on the holes before placing the unit to reduce vibration and noise.
  4. Place the outdoor unit base onto the bolts and pre-drilled holes.
  5. Use a wrench to firmly fix the unit with bolts.

The outdoor unit can be fixed on a wall-mounting bracket. Ensure the bracket can support at least 4 times the unit's weight and keep the unit horizontal.

Step 4: Install Wiring

  1. Unscrew and remove the wiring cover.
  2. Unscrew and remove the cable clamp.
  3. Connect the connecting wires to the corresponding terminals according to the wiring diagram inside the wiring cover, ensuring secure connections.
  4. Reinstall the cable clamp and wiring cover.

Power must be cut off when connecting wires between indoor and outdoor units.

Step 5: Connecting Refrigerant Pipe

  1. Unscrew and remove the valve cover (if applicable).
  2. Remove protective caps from the valve ends.
  3. Remove plastic covers from pipe ports and ensure ports are clean.
  4. Align the centers and hand-tighten the flare nuts of the connecting pipes.
  5. Use a spanner to hold the valve body and a torque wrench to tighten the flare nut according to the torque values in the "Installation Precautions" table.

IMPORTANT: If connecting to a 1/2" or 5/8" connection pipe, use the transit adapter found in the indoor carton box with the user manual.

Step 6: Vacuum Pumping

  1. Remove protective caps from the service port, low pressure valve, and high pressure valve of the outdoor unit.
  2. Connect the pressure hose of the manifold gauge to the service port on the outdoor unit's low pressure valve.
  3. Connect the charge hose from the manifold gauge to the vacuum pump.
  4. Open the low pressure valve of the manifold gauge and close the high pressure valve.
  5. Turn on the vacuum pump to vacuum the system for at least 15 minutes, or until the compound gauge indicates -0.1 MPa (-76 cmHg).
  6. Close the low pressure valve of the manifold gauge and turn off the vacuum pump.
  7. Hold the pressure for 5 minutes, ensuring the compound gauge pointer rebound does not exceed 0.005 MPa.
  8. Partially open the low pressure valve (1/4 turn counterclockwise) to let a small amount of refrigerant into the system, then close it after 5 seconds and quickly remove the pressure hose.
  9. Check all indoor and outdoor joints for leakage using soapy water or a leak detector.
  10. Fully open the low pressure and high pressure valves of the outdoor unit using a hexagonal wrench.
  11. Reinstall the protective caps and the valve cover.

After installing the line set and before opening the valve switches, vacuum the system first.

Test Run Instruction

  1. Turn on the power supply.
  2. Press the ON/OFF button on the remote controller to turn on the air conditioner.
  3. Press the Mode button to switch between COOLING and HEATING modes. Set the lowest temperature for COOLING and the highest for HEATING.
  4. Run the unit for about 8 minutes in each mode and check if all functions operate correctly and respond to the remote controller. Verify outlet air temperature, proper drainage, and louver rotation.
  5. Observe the test run state for at least 30 minutes.
  6. After a successful test run, return to normal settings and turn off the unit using the ON/OFF button.
  7. Inform the user to read the manual carefully, demonstrate operation, explain maintenance, and provide accessories.

If the ambient temperature is outside the specified range and the unit cannot run in COOLING or HEATING mode, lift the front panel and refer to the emergency button operation to run these modes.

Clean the Unit

Wipe frequently to keep the air conditioner clean and maintain its appearance.

Clean the Filter

When dust accumulates in the filter, clean it promptly to ensure clean, healthy, and efficient operation.

  1. Shut down the machine and disconnect the power supply for more than 5 minutes before cleaning.
  2. Do not flush the air conditioner with water.
  3. Use a soft dry cloth or a cloth dipped in neutral detergent to clean the air conditioner. Volatile liquids like thinner or gasoline can damage the unit.
  4. Clean the filter screen regularly to prevent dust accumulation, which affects its effectiveness. Increase cleaning frequency if the operating environment is dusty.
  5. After removing the filter screen, do not touch the fins of the indoor unit to avoid scratching.
  6. To clean the filter: Take out the filter, clean it with soapy water (below 40°C/104°F), and air dry it. Replace the filter.
