This guide details the operation and settings for DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) radio functionality.
1. DAB Radio Overview
DAB provides digital radio services. This device supports DAB (DAB 1, 2, and 3) and offers a superior listening experience.
2. DAB Band Support
The device supports DAB (DAB1, 2, and 3).
3. DAB Reception
Ensure you are in an area with DAB reception. Poor reception may result in:
- Static or audio dropouts.
- No signal.
4. DAB Signal Strength
A signal strength indicator is available to assess reception quality.
5. DAB Information
Details about the current DAB broadcast are available, including:
- Program Service (PS) name.
- Radio Text (RT) information.
6. Settings Menu (⚙️)
Access the main settings menu for DAB options:

- FM Traffic (▶️): Enable or disable traffic announcements from FM.
- Link DAB (?): Enables linking to DAB services when available.
- Announcements (?): Configure the type of announcements received (e.g., Traffic, News).
7. Channel List (?️)
View a comprehensive list of available DAB channels. The list includes:
- Ensemble (?): A group of related DAB services.
- Channel (?): Individual broadcast channels.
- Subchannel (?): Specific content within a channel.
- Category (?️): Classification of the broadcast content.
Use the navigation controls to scroll through the list. Select 'Back' (↩️) to return to the DAB menu.
8. Subchannel Selection
Select a specific subchannel to listen to. Navigation options are available.
9. Auto-tune (?)
Perform an automatic scan for available DAB stations. This process updates the channel list. If no stations are found, a 'No reception' (❌) message may appear.
A manual tune option is also available. For optimal results, ensure good signal strength.
10. Manual Tune
Manually tune to a specific DAB frequency.
- Adjust the frequency as needed.
- A signal strength indicator is provided.
- If no signal is detected, a 'No reception' (❌) message will be displayed.
DAB Settings Explained
Link DAB (?) Settings
Configure the 'Link DAB' feature. This allows the radio to automatically switch to a DAB service if a linked FM service is being received. If no reception is available, the feature will not engage. Select 'Link' (?) to activate or deactivate this function.
DAB Country (?)
Set the country for DAB broadcasts. This helps the radio find relevant services. Example: United Kingdom.
DAB Format (?)
Select the appropriate DAB frequency band for your region:
- L Band (L-)
- Band III (III)
- L Band & Band III (L- & III)
- L Band Canada (L-, ??)
- L Band Can & Band III (L-, ?? & III)
The correct setting depends on your geographical location.
General Operation
The device supports AM/FM and DAB radio. For the best experience, ensure proper antenna connection and signal reception. Use the Auto-tune (?) function to easily find stations.
