5. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your VOLFVERT 4000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter:
- Choose a Suitable Location: Place the inverter on a flat, stable surface in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture. Ensure there is sufficient space around the inverter for proper airflow.
- Prepare the Battery: Use a 12V DC battery system. Ensure the battery is fully charged and in good condition.
- Connect Ground Wire: Connect the included ground wire to the ground terminal on the inverter (refer to Figure 4.1, component 4) and to a proper earth ground point. This is crucial for safety.
- Connect Battery Cables:
- Connect the red battery cable to the positive (+) terminal of the inverter and then to the positive (+) terminal of your 12V battery.
- Connect the black battery cable to the negative (-) terminal of the inverter and then to the negative (-) terminal of your 12V battery.
CAUTION: Ensure connections are tight and secure. Loose connections can cause excessive heat and damage.
- Initial Power On: Once all connections are secure, switch the inverter's main power switch to the 'ON' position. The LCD display should illuminate, showing battery voltage and other readings.
6. Operating Instructions
Operating your VOLFVERT 4000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter is straightforward:
- Powering On/Off: Use the ON/OFF switch on the front panel (refer to Figure 4.1, component 6) to turn the inverter on or off. For remote operation, ensure the switch is in the 'REMOTE' position and use the wireless remote controller.
- Connecting Appliances: Plug your AC appliances into the 4 AC Outlets or connect to the AC Terminal Blocks. For USB-powered devices, use the Dual USB Ports or the Type-C Port.
- Monitoring the LCD Display: The LCD display provides critical information:
- Input Voltage (VDC): Shows the current voltage from your 12V battery.
- Output Voltage (VAC): Displays the AC output voltage (110V/120V).
- Load Wattage (W): Indicates the real-time power consumption of connected devices.
- Battery Level Indicator: Provides a visual representation of the battery charge status.
- Warning Indicators: Alerts you to potential issues such as under-voltage, over-voltage, or overload (refer to Figure 4.2).
- Using the Wireless Remote Control: The remote allows you to turn the inverter ON or OFF from a distance. Ensure a 23A battery is installed in the remote (battery not included).

Figure 6.1: Operating the inverter with the wireless remote control.
- Load Management: Always ensure the total continuous power draw of your appliances does not exceed 4000W. For inductive loads (e.g., motors, refrigerators), consider their surge power requirements, which can be up to 8000W for this inverter.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your inverter:
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the inverter with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents. Ensure ventilation openings are free from dust and debris.
- Connection Check: Regularly inspect all electrical connections (battery cables, ground wire, AC outlets) to ensure they are tight and free from corrosion.
- Battery Health: Maintain your 12V battery according to its manufacturer's guidelines. A healthy battery is crucial for inverter performance.
- Fuse Replacement: If a fuse blows, replace it with a new 30A fuse of the same type. The inverter comes with spare fuses.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your inverter, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Inverter does not turn on | Loose battery connections; Low battery voltage; Blown fuse; Inverter switch OFF | Check and tighten battery connections; Charge or replace battery; Check and replace fuses; Ensure inverter switch is ON or REMOTE. |
| No AC output | Overload; Overheating; Low/High input voltage; Faulty appliance | Reduce load; Allow inverter to cool down; Check battery voltage; Test appliance on another power source. |
| LCD shows "Under-Voltage" | Battery voltage too low | Charge the battery immediately. |
| LCD shows "Over-Voltage" | Input voltage too high | Disconnect from power source; Check battery system for overcharging. |
| LCD shows "Over-Load" or "Short-Circuit" | Connected load exceeds inverter capacity; Short circuit in appliance or wiring | Reduce total wattage of connected appliances; Inspect appliances and wiring for short circuits. |
| Cooling fan constantly running or very loud | High internal temperature; Heavy load | Ensure proper ventilation; Reduce load if possible. This is normal under heavy load. |
