Always read and understand all safety messages and instructions in this manual before operating the scanner. Failure to do so may result in injury or damage to the scanner or vehicle.

Scanner Components:

4. Impostazione

The Riokko YM119 scanner is designed for quick and easy setup. No batteries are required as it draws power directly from the vehicle's OBDII port.

Collegamento dello scanner:

  1. Locate the vehicle's 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC). The DLC is usually located under the dashboard on the driver's side. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for the exact location if you cannot find it.
  2. Portare l'accensione del veicolo in posizione OFF.

  4. Turn the vehicle's ignition to the ON position (engine off). The scanner will automatically power on and display the main menu.

Once the scanner is connected and powered on, you can navigate through the main menu using the UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, OK, and EXIT buttons.

5.1. Diagnosis Menu

From the main menu, select 'Diagnosis' and press OK to enter the diagnostic functions.

    1. Select 'Erase Codes' and press OK.

    Freeze Frame Data is a snapshot of sensor values recorded by the ECU at the moment a DTC was set. This data can help identify the conditions under which the fault occurred.

    1. Seleziona 'View Freeze Frame' and press OK.
    2. The scanner will display the recorded parameters. Use UP/DOWN to scroll.
  • Prontezza I/M:

    I/M Readiness (Inspection/Maintenance Readiness) indicates whether the various emissions-related systems on the vehicle are operating correctly and have completed their self-tests. This is crucial for emissions testing.

    1. Select 'I/M Readiness' and press OK.
    2. The scanner will display the status of various monitors (e.g., Misfire Monitor, Fuel System Monitor, Catalyst Monitor) as 'OK' (complete) or 'INC' (incomplete).
  • Live PCM Data:

    This function displays real-time operational parameters from the vehicle's Powertrain Control Module (PCM). This data can be viewed as numerical values or graphical curves.

    1. Select 'Live PCM Data' and press OK.
    2. Scegliere 'View Data' for numerical values or 'Graph Data' for graphical representation (if available for the parameter).
    3. Use UP/DOWN to scroll through parameters.

  1. From the main menu, select 'Battery' or press the 'BAT' button.

This function allows you to look up the definition of a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).
