  • Liquid: Keep the unit away from liquids. Do not expose it to rain or moisture.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not block ventilation openings. Install the unit in a location with proper airflow.
  • Location: Avoid installing the unit in direct sunlight, near heat sources, or in extremely dusty or humid environments.
  • Servicing: Do not attempt to service the unit yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the mixer from its packaging. Retain all packaging materials for future transport or storage.

3.2 Connecting Power

Connect the supplied power cord to the AC IN terminal on the rear panel of the DJM-800 and then to a suitable power outlet. Use the POWER switch to turn the unit ON or OFF.

3.3 Audio Input Connections

The DJM-800 features multiple input options for each channel. Connect your turntables to the PHONO inputs, and CD players or other line-level devices to the LINE or CD inputs. Ensure correct Left (L) and Right (R) connections. Use the SIGNAL GND terminals for turntables to reduce hum.

3.4 Audio Output Connections

  • Master Output: Connect your main amplifier or PA system to the MASTER 1 (XLR) or MASTER 2 (RCA) outputs.
  • Booth Output: Connect your booth monitor speakers to the BOOTH (TRS) outputs.
  • Record Output: Connect a recording device to the REC (RCA) outputs.

3.5 Digital Input/Output

The mixer supports digital audio input and output. Use the DIGITAL IN ports for digital sources and the DIGITAL OUT for digital recording or connection to other digital equipment. Select the appropriate sampling frequency (48kHz or 96kHz) using the fs (Hz) switch.

3.6 MIDI Connection

The MIDI OUT port allows the DJM-800 to send MIDI control signals to external devices or software.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

Use the POWER switch on the rear panel to turn the unit on. Wait a few seconds for the mixer to initialize.

4.2 Input Selection

For each channel, use the input selector switch to choose between PHONO, LINE, or CD/DIGITAL sources.

4.3 Channel Faders and Crossfader

Adjust the volume of each channel using its respective channel fader. The crossfader allows for smooth transitions between channels assigned to its A and B sides.

4.4 Equalizer (EQ)

Each channel features a 3-band equalizer to adjust the high, mid, and low frequencies of the audio signal.

4.5 Sound Color FX

The DJM-800 includes Sound Color FX such as Filter, Crush, Sweep, and Noise. Rotate the parameter knob for each channel to apply these effects.

4.6 Beat Effects

The Beat Effect section offers various effects synchronized to the music's BPM. Select an effect, adjust its parameters, and assign it to a channel or the master output.

4.7 Microphone Input

Connect a microphone to the MIC input. Adjust the microphone level using the dedicated MIC LEVEL knob. The ADD CUT MIC SIGNAL switch and MASTER ATT control can be used to manage microphone signal routing and attenuation.

4.8 Headphone Monitoring

Use the HEADPHONE jack to monitor audio. The CUE buttons allow you to select which channels to monitor, and the CUE/MASTER MIX knob adjusts the balance between cue and master output in your headphones.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth.

5.2 Fader Care

Keep faders free from dust and debris. Avoid spilling liquids on them. If faders become stiff or noisy, consult a qualified technician for cleaning or replacement.

5.3 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, store the mixer in a clean, dry place, preferably in its original packaging or a protective case.

6. Troubleshooting
