Input power
The power information in this section may be helpful if you plan to travel internationally with the docking station. The docking station operates on DC power, which can be supplied by an AC or a DC power source. The AC power source must be rated at 100–240 V, 50–60 Hz. Although the docking station can be powered from a standalone DC power source, it should be powered only with an AC adapter or a DC power source supplied and approved by HP for use with this docking station. The docking station can operate on DC power within the following specifications.

Power: In order to use the docking station’s features, AC power needs to be connected to it.
With a docking station, you can turn your laptop into a desktop computer. To use a monitor, printer, keyboard, mouse, storage device, backup drive, and even a local area network (LAN), your laptop can connect to a docking station.
You can connect your first external monitor to this connection to get a second display.
Connect two laptops to this dock to share two displays, a keyboard, a mouse, and other devices.
The question of whether a docking station improves performance arises in the midst of all of this. Yes, without a doubt, as multi-display functionality and the availability of ports contribute to increased productivity.
Davis, on the other hand, claims that docking stations, which are rarely physically guarded, are easy to rig with rogue devices that can easily intercept any kind of information, including encrypted data traffic, USB device traffic, softphone traffic, and videoconference traffic. Davis also claims that these types of traffic include videoconference traffic.
It is possible for any USB 3.0 device connected to your system—not just our dock—to disrupt your Wi-Fi signal.
If you want a dock idea for choppy water, a plastic dock is the best choice.
If you have the HP USB-C G5 Essential dock, transferring files between your laptop and other devices is simple. Your laptop always has everything you need for work, no matter where you are—at home, in a coffee shop, or in the car.
