Adaptive Intelligent Recovery

Over time, the T4 Pro Thermostat “learns” how long it takes your system to reach the temperature you want. It turns on the heating or cooling system earlier to make sure you’re comfortable at the time you expect.

Built-in compressor protection

Damage can occur if the compressor is restarted too soon after shutdown. This feature forces the compressor to wait for a few minutes before restarting.
During the wait time, the display will flash the message Cool On (or Heat On if you have a heat pump). When the safe wait time has elapsed, the message stops flashing and the compressor turns on.

Battery replacement

Batteries are optional (to provide backup power) if your thermostat was wired to run on AC power when installed. If your thermostat was not wired to run on AC power, then batteries are required. Install fresh batteries immediately when the low battery icon appears. The icon appears about two months before the batteries are depleted.
Even if the low battery icon does not appear, you should replace batteries once a year, or before leaving home for more than a month. If batteries are inserted within two minutes, the time and day will not have to be reset. All other settings are permanently stored in memory, and do not require battery power.
NOTE: When replacing batteries, alkaline batteries are recommended.

Alerts

If there is an alert or reminder, the alert icon  appears on the Home screen.

  1. The batteries need to be replaced when BATT, the alert icon , and the battery icon are displayed on the Home screen.

  1. I have a gas system, and I hooked up the wiring just like my old thermostat was. The air conditioning turns on, but the gas heater does not. Where can I find a user guide for connecting the wiring with gas systems?

Tengo un sistema de gas, y conecte el cableado igual que como estaba mi termostato viejo. El aire acondicionado prende, pero el el calentador de gas no. Dónde puedo encontrar una guia de usuario para la conección del cableado con sistemas de gas?

  2. Really bad. No “how-tos” at all. Basically useless. Example, changing batteries. Tells you should change them but do not even hint at how.

    1. Yea. I had this same problem when the warranty company installed the thing. I called them back and it turned out that they deliberately locked out the programming function because they said they had people program them wrong, then say it wasn’t working. I think you have to hold down both the bottom left and bottom right button at the same time for a few seconds to unlock it.

  3. unable to program. I push “MENU” and you can set time, F/C, date and lock but there is no “PROG”. why is that? how do I fix that? can I get an answer? I see other people have the same issue./

    1. You have to press the Menu and + buttons at the same time for 5 seconds. “ISU” will display, press Select and “ISO” with the number 0 under it will display. Press + to change it to 2 and then press home. Your program setting should now be there.

  4. I’m having a problem with my system not cooling to my set temperature. I had it on a schedule but it only cools in the morning and late evening, despite having set times. I have it set to 68 right now and the inside temp is at 78. I turned programming off hoping just having a set temp would help, but that’s not working either.

  5. This is a TERRIBLE thermostat. The instructions are written for someone who already understands the logic of this thing. I have a Ph.D. and I can’t figure it out. I’m freezing IN MID SUMMER because I can’t get this thing to operate correctly. I’ve figured out that you have to separately program Heat and Cool for 4 different settings for the 5 days of the work week then for Saturday and Sunday. Apparently, that means you have to program the whole thing 3 times. So there are 2 (heat/cool) x 4 (4 different times of day) x 3 (weekdays+Saturday+Sunday) = 24 different settings to be determined. That is just ridiculous. Plus the screen is nigh unto impossible to read.
The logic of it defies me. Why wouldn’t this manufacturer take a committe of people like me, take the time to teach us to use the darned thing and then have US write the instructions? Honeywell does not seem to have made any YouTube videos to illustrate this device. It’s just expensive, frustrating and unfair. I’m contacting my HVAC person and telling him to come back and take this thing off our walls and put in something simple and straightforward, that comes with clear instructions.

  6. pro series panel shows permanet hold in left and unlock in bottom how can i teturn to normal i might make any mistake to press button

  7. This is a horrible Thermostat! Programming is impossible. I want to delete all programming and use manually. I want to delete the temporary hold and I can not. I have tried your Program schedule override (permanent). You mention the “cancel” but there is no mention of what button is cancel. I have tried all and NOTHING works. How do you get rid of programs? I am always home and the program crap is unnecessary

  8. My thermostat only allows me to set temperature for each weekday, not all 5 weekdays together, i.e. every time only one weekday can be selected. Please let me know where I change this behavior, to set it up day by day is a nightmare.

  9. Because the air conditioning heater does not work and because it always turns on very cold in the morning I have three thermostats and only one I have connected to my cell phone can another person connect the same or one of the other thermostats to their cell phone and as I knew it and what would I have to do to deactivate it from your cell phone
