Introduction
The Multiple Unit Control Panel (MUCP) is an accessory designed for controlling up to three (3) units from a single thermostat. It is typically mounted within the unit control box that is closest to the thermostat. For applications requiring control of up to six (6) units from a single thermostat, a maximum of two MUCP boards can be used together.
Installation
Low voltage wiring between the terminal blocks and the Daikin Applied wall thermostat must be performed in accordance with applicable codes. The use of a color-coded low voltage cable is recommended for clarity. This version of the control board utilizes VAC relays. It should not be used in conjunction with any other accessories or equipment that require VDC connections to the "G", "W1", or "Y1" terminals, such as the Boilerless System Kit. The MUCP board includes components that protect the MT2300 controller from potential electrical damage that can occur when using standard off-the-shelf relays.
Notices
- Do not use the unoccupied (U-terminal) feature with the multiple unit control board.
- Do not use the MUCP with multi-speed fan thermostats.
Figure 1: Multiple Unit Control Panel and Board
Figure 1 illustrates the physical appearance of the Multiple Unit Control Panel and its circuit board. The circuit board features relays labeled K1, K2, and K3, along with terminal blocks designated as TB1, TB2, TB3, and TB4. The physical dimensions of the panel are approximately 2 3/4 inches, 4 1/4 inches, and 7 9/16 inches.
Figure 2: Wiring the Multiple Unit Control Panel Circuit Board
Figure 2 provides a detailed wiring diagram. It shows the connections from the Multiple Unit Control Panel circuit board's terminal blocks (e.g., RYGW on TB1, TB2, TB3, TB4) to the MT2300 Unit Control Board's low voltage terminal strip. This strip includes terminals R, W2, W1, Y2, Y1, G, and C. These connections are then routed to the corresponding Thermostat Terminals (G, Y2, W2, Y1, W1, R, C) for each connected unit, labeled as TB1 - Unit #1, TB1 - Unit #2, and TB1 - Unit #3. The diagram also indicates specific relay connections (K1, K2, K3) and terminal block labels on the MUCP circuit board itself.
