HARDWARE INSTALLATION GUIDE
1. YournewUPSmaybeusedimmediatelyupon receipt.However,afterreceivinganewUPS,to ensurethebattery'smaximumchargecapacity, itisrecommendedthatyouchargethebattery foratleast8hours.YourUPSisequippedwithan autochargefeature.WhentheUPSisplugged intoanACoutlet,thebatterywillautomatically chargewhethertheUPSisturnedonorturned off. *Battery recharges 72 hours to 100% capacity based on CEC, Energy Star efficiency test standard.
2. WiththeUPSunitturnedoffandunplugged, connectyourequipmentrequiringbatterybackup intothebatteryandsurgeprotectedoutlets.Plug theotherperipheralequipment(printer,scanner, speakers)intothefulltimesurgeprotection outlets. (DO NOT plug a laser printer, paper shredder, copier, space heater, vacuum, sump pump or other large electrical device into the "Battery and Surge Protected Outlets". The power demands of these devices will overload and possibly damage the unit.)
3. PlugtheUPSintoa2pole,3wiregrounded receptacle(walloutlet).Makesurethewallbranch outletisprotectedbyafuseorcircuitbreakerand doesnotserviceequipmentwithlargeelectrical demands(e.g.airconditioner,refrigerator,copier, etc...).Thewarrantyprohibitstheuseofextension cords,outletstrips,andsurgestrips.

PLUG IN
4. Pressthepowerswitchtoturntheuniton.The PowerOnindicatorlightwillilluminategreenand theunitwill"beep"twice.
5. Ifanoverloadisdetected,anaudiblealarmwill soundandtheunitwillemitonelongbeep.To correctthis,turntheUPSoffandunplugatleast onepieceofequipmentfromthebatterypower suppliedoutlets.Makesurethecircuitbreakeris depressedandthenturntheUPSon.
6. Tomaintainoptimalbatterycharge,leavetheUPS pluggedintoanACoutletatalltimes.
7. TostoretheUPSforanextendedperiodoftime, coveritandstorewiththebatteryfullycharged. Whileinstorage,rechargethebatteryeverythree monthstoensureoptimalbatterylife.
8. EnsurethewalloutletandUPSarelocated neartheequipmentbeingattachedforproper accessibility.
9. LaytheUPShorizontallyorusethekeyhole mountingslotstoaffixtheUPStothewallinthe properorientation.

BASIC OPERATION

1. Power On Switch
ToturntheUPSon,pressthepowerbutton forapproximately2secondsyouwillheara constanttone(1second)andreleaseaftera shortbeep.
ToturntheUPSoff,pressthepowerbutton forapproximately2secondsyouwillheara constanttone(1second)andreleaseaftertwo shortbeeps.
Alarm setting:Ifyouneedtoswitchthebuzzer mode,doubleclickthepowerbutton.

INSTALLING YOUR UPS SYSTEM
UNPACKING InspecttheUPSuponreceipt. Theboxshouldcontainthefollowing: (a)UPSunit (b)User'smanual

DETERMINE THE POWER REQUIREMENTS OF YOUR EQUIPMENT
1. Ensurethattheequipmentpluggedintothe outletdoesnotexceedtheUPSunit'srated capacity.Iftheratedcapacitiesoftheunitare exceeded,anoverloadconditionmayoccurand causetheUPSunittoshutdownorthecircuit breakertotrip.
2. Therearemanyfactorsthatcanaffectthe amountofpowerthatyourelectronicequipment willrequire.Foroptimalsystemperformancekeep theloadbelow80%oftheunit'sratedcapacity.

BASIC OPERATIONcontinued
6. Circuit Breaker
LocatedonthesideoftheUPS,thecircuit breakerservestoprovideoverloadandfault protection.
7. Wiring Fault Indicator (red)
ThisLEDindicatorwillilluminatetowarnthe userthatawiringproblemexists,suchasbad ground,missinggroundorreversedwiring.Ifthis isilluminated,disconnectallelectricalequipment fromtheoutletandhaveanelectricianverifythe outletisproperlywired.TheUPSwillnotprovide surgeprotectionwithoutbeingpluggedintoa groundedandproperlywiredwalloutlet.
8. Multi Color Light Bar
Thereare14lightbarmodesavailable,allowing youtochoosefromavarietyofcolorsandeffects topersonalizeyoursetup.

9. Lighting Mode Selector Button
1)Toturnonthemulticolorlightbar,pressand holdthelightingmodeselectorbuttonfor3 seconds. 2)Tocyclethroughthelightingmodes,quickly pressandreleasethelightingmodeselector button. 3)Todimorbrightenthemulticolorlightbar, quicklypressthelightingmodeselectorbutton twice. 4)Toturnoffthemulticolorlightbar,pressand holdthelightingmodeselectorbuttonforthree seconds.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT
ForReplacementofbatterieslocatedinaSERVICE ACCESSAREATheservicemanualshallincludethe followinginstructions:
A)Servicingofbatteriesshouldbeperformedor supervisedbypersonnelknowledgeableabout batteriesandtherequiredprecautions.
B)Whenreplacingbatteries,replacewiththesame typeandnumberofbatteriesorbatterypacks.
C)CAUTION:Donotdisposeofbatteriesinafire. Thebatteriesmayexplode.
D)CAUTION:Donotopenormutilatebatteries. Releasedelectrolyteisharmfultotheskinand eyes.Itmaybetoxic.
E)CAUTION:Abatterycanpresentariskof electricalshockandhighshortcircuitcurrent.The followingprecautionsshouldbeobservedwhen workingonbatteries:

a)Removewatches,rings,orothermetalobjects.
b)Usetoolswithinsulatedhandles.
c)Wearrubberglovesandboots.
d)Donotlaytoolsormetalpartsontopofbatteries.
e)Disconnectchargingsourceandloadpriorto installingormaintainingthebattery.
f)Removebatterygroundsduringinstallation andmaintenancetoreducelikelihoodofshock. Removetheconnectionfromgroundifanypartof thebatteryisdeterminedtobegrounded.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES

1. TurnofftheUPS,unplugallconnectedequipment andunplugtheUPSfromACpowersource.
2. PlacetheUPSonitstopandremovetheretaining screwonthebatterycompartmentcover.
3. Slidethebatterycompartmentcovercompletely offtheunit.
4. Removethebatteryfromthecompartmentand disconnectthebatterywiresfromthebattery.

5. Installthereplacementbatterybyconnectingthe redwiretothepositive(+)terminalandtheblack wiretothenegative()terminalofthebattery.
6. Slidethebatterycompartmentcoveroverthe batteryandtightentheretainingscrew.
7. Chargetheunitfor8hourstoensuretheUPS performsexpectedruntime.

TROUBLESHOOTING

TheUPSdoesnotperform expectedruntime.

Possible Cause
PowerSupplyoverload.
Batterynotfullycharged.
Batteryiswornout. Theon/offswitchisdesignedto preventdamagefromrapidlyturning itoffandon.

TurntheUPSoffandunplugatleastone pieceofequipment.Resetthecircuit breakerbydepressingthebutton,and thenturntheUPSon.

*Inlinemode,theACinputvoltagemayoccasionalinstability.Tosafeguardconnectedequipmentfrom potentialdamageduetounforeseenvoltagefluctuations,youcanadjusttheunit'sutilityqualitybyfollowing thestepsbelow.
1. Toensurethattheunitisinthe"off"state.
2. ToEntertheUtilityQualitySetupmode,pressandholdthePowerButtonapproximately5seconds,you willheartwolongbeepingsoundsandtheLightBarwillflashrapidly.
3. TheunitwillshowthecurrentUTILITYQUALITYsetting,asshowninthefollowingtable.Uponreleasing thebutton,theutilityqualitywillcyclicallyswitchmodesevery5seconds,followingthesequence:low, normal,high,low,andsoon.
