APP Download and Device Pairing/Unpairing

Download the 'R2G APP' on Your Smartphone.

Device Pairing

  1. After downloading, sign up and log in upon first launch.
  2. After logging in, navigate to Home and press the 'Start to Connect' button.
  3. Activate the smartphone camera scan feature. After turning on the device, scan the QR code generated in the VIEWER.

Pairing with the device is only required at the first connection.

Device Unpairing

To pair with a new phone, disconnect the existing pairing between the device and the app.

The R2G MATE HYBRID is a golf rangefinder integrating laser, GPS, and geomagnetic sensors. It features R2G's unique MPV (MATE PIN VIEWER) for accurate distance and pin position information. It is compatible with over 40,000 GOLF COURSE MAPS worldwide.

Note: If measurements are taken beyond the specified range (3-1,000Y(m)), inaccuracies may occur. Use a 5V/1A adapter and cable for charging. Color, surface finish, material, shape, target reflectivity, angle, and surrounding conditions (e.g., sunlight) can affect distance measurement. Weather changes (rain, fog, humidity) can also affect distance measurement.

The OLED display provides the following information:

How to use

Power ON

Press the Power / Measurement Button briefly to activate the laser function. Both the rangefinder OLED and the external Viewer turn on.

Power OFF

The power will automatically shut off if the device or external VIEWER is not working. The Rangefinder OLED powers off after about 7 seconds. The External VIEWER powers off after 10 minutes on the main screen or 60 minutes upon entering Golf Play. Swipe down from the top of the external VIEWER main screen to turn off power or select the rangefinder mode.

Battery Level Check

When the battery level is low (one bar), the indicator blinks, and the device switches to rangefinder mode. The OLED and VIEWER display battery levels from 100% down to LOW.

Charging

Charge the battery when the 'Low-power Please charge' message appears or the battery icon is low. 'Charging Complete' will be displayed when fully charged. Use a 5V/1A compatible adapter and cable.

Brightness Setting (Automatic)

The brightness of the Rangefinder OLED and external VIEWER screen adjusts automatically to external brightness. The initial setting is A(Auto).

Brightness Setting (Manual)

Rangefinder OLED: While holding the measurement button, briefly press the mode button to adjust brightness in steps A-1-2-3-4-5.

External VIEWER: In 'Settings → Brightness', manually set brightness from 1 to 5.

Focus Adjustment

Adjust the OLED display clarity by turning the rangefinder's focus dial left or right.

Distance Unit Change

After powering on, press and hold the mode button for more than 2 seconds to switch between meters (M) and yards (Y). Units are synchronized between the Rangefinder and VIEWER.

Distance Measurement & Vibration Alert

The rangefinder is equipped with an approach function, displaying distance to one decimal place for ranges under 100m/100Y.

Slope / Non-Slope Mode

How to Switch Slope / Non-Slope Mode: Press the mode button briefly to toggle. In 'Settings → Golf Settings → Slope Mode', you can switch between ON/OFF. The R2G logo displays for 2 seconds on the external viewer when the measurement button is pressed. Slope/Non-Slope modes are synchronized.

The Club Recommendation feature is disabled in Non-Slope mode.

MATE MODE

R2G's patented MATE MODE fosters camaraderie and improves skills. (Patent No. 10-2626537). Scan the QR code for detailed instructions. Measure the target (Pin) first, preferably using Pin Catcher measurement. In Multi Mate mode, up to 4 points can be measured after the initial pin measurement.

VIEWER Screen Description

Full Course View

Displays hole information, green location (with manual or automatic switching), distance from user to pin, club recommendation (Slope mode), incline (Slope mode ON), current user's location, driver distance arc, and IP status (activated/deactivated).

Target point wide view & Shot Aiming Line

Magnifies the target point for surrounding information and accurate targeting via the shot aiming line. Aiming Line ON magnifies for 15 seconds; Aiming Line OFF magnifies for 5 seconds.

Green Side View

Identifies obstacles around the green (bunkers, water hazards). Displays distance from user to pin, green center pin + GPS distance (MPV not activated), or actual pin location + actual approach distance (MPV activated).

Green View

Automatically switches when the remaining distance to the green center is within 30Y(m). Displays current user's location, green center pin + GPS distance (MPV not activated), or actual pin location + actual approach distance (MPV activated).

How to Use Golf Play

Entering Golf Play

Connect to the R2G APP, go to Golf Play, find a course (nearby, favorite, or search), get GPS reception, select a course, move to the Tee Box, and Start Round.

Switch Golf Course Map

Swipe left or right on the full course view to switch between Full Course View and Green Side View.

Ensure the GPS receiver is exposed for Golf Play. Reception may be affected by weak GPS signals or environmental factors.

Full Course View & Auto Zoom

Preview the entire course layout, driving range, and automatically displays enlarged maps as the user moves.

IP (Intermediate Point)

Touching the [IP] icon displays the IP point and distance. Users can manually change the IP location for course navigation.

Target Wide View & Shot Aiming Line

Magnifies the target point for surrounding information and accurate targeting via the shot aiming line.

Green View

Automatically switches when the remaining distance to the green center is within 30Y(m).

MATE MODE

When using MATE MODE, a MATE MODE icon is displayed. The VIEWER shows the remaining distance to the pin for each companion.

Compass Calibration

If the calibration screen is displayed during Golf Play, press the measurement button and move the rangefinder as shown on the screen to calibrate the compass. The guidance screen disappears upon completion.

How to Use Settings

Settings

Access 'Settings' from the main screen to configure Golf settings, languages, device information, and screen brightness.

Double-tap the VIEWER screen to turn it on when the screen is off.

How to Use Golf Play

Shot Tracking

Tap the Shot button to save your current location and review the trajectory of each hole via the APP.

Score Card

After completing a hole, a score card screen appears for score entry. Tap the score button to manually enter scores. A Score Board displays hole, par, score, and putt information.

Quick Menu

Swipe from top to bottom on the full course view to access the Quick Menu for Golf Settings, changing holes, or ending the round.

When linked with the R2G APP, save and analyze scorecards, statistics, and movement trajectory. Map images may differ from actual course views.

Product Warranty

This device is produced under strict quality control. It may be exchanged or reimbursed according to the Fair Trade Commission Notice Consumer Dispute Resolution Criteria. In case of problems during normal use, the product will be repaired free of charge within the warranty period. Modification, duplication, or use of unauthorized parts may void the warranty. For after-sales service and damage compensation, present the warranty card and proof of purchase (Receipt).
