l Be sure to read t he entir e m anual before operat ing your m achine.

l Underst and that changes in speed and incline do not occur im m ediat ely. Set y our

desir ed speed on t he com put er console and release t he adj ustm ent key. The com put er

will obey t he comm and gr adually.

l Use caution while par ticipating in ot her activities while walk ing on your treadm ill; such

as wat ching t elevision, r eading, et c. These dist r act ions m ay cause you t o lose balance

or stray from walking in the centre of t he belt; which m ay result in ser ious inj ury.

l I n order t o pr event losing balance and suffering unexpect ed inj ury, N EVER m ount or

dism ount t he t r eadm ill while t he belt is m oving. This unit st art s wit h a very low speed.

Sim ply st anding on t he belt during slow acceleration is proper aft er you have lear ned

t o operat e this m achine.

l Always hold on to handrail while m aking cont rol changes.

l A safet y k ey is provided wit h t his m achine. Rem ove t he safet y key will st op t he

walking belt im m ediat ely; the tr eadm ill w ill shut off autom at ically. I nsert t he safet y

key will reset the display.

l Do not use excessiv e pr essure on console control keys. They are precision set to

funct ion pr oper ly with lit tle finger pressure.

WE RECOMMEND YOU HAVE SOMEONE TO ASSI ST YOU I N LI FTI NG AND ASSEMBLI NG YOUR LI FESPAN TREADMI LL. FOLLOW THESE I NSTRUCTI ONS CAREFULLY AND I T WI LL MAKE I T EASI ER TO ASSEMBLE YOUR LI FESPAN TREADMI LL Step 1 Rem ove all part s from t he carton, and place t he t readm ill ont o t he floor .
Step 2 Before placing the right upright in it s posit ion, be sur e to connect t he cable as pict ur ed right . This is a very delicate procedure and if not com plet ed correctly will cause the t readm ill not t o run correct ly and in som e cases not r un at all. Mak e sur e the pins inside t he each plug line up when connect ing t he two plugs ( view right)
Step 3 I nstall t he left and r ight uprights int o t he bottom connect ors. You will need 1 br acket and ( 7x) 8m m bolt s. The bolts and br acket are pict ured ( right ) exactly how they ar e to be att ached to the upr ight (view right ).

Step 4 Screw in t he bolt s as pict ur ed right . DO NOT tight en the bolt s fully t ill t he display panel and sensor m et er t ube ar e connected ( view r ight)

Step 5 Connect t he cable t o t he display panel. Again t his is a very delicate procedure so take car e when undert aking t his st ep. Then Slide t he display panel down gent ly t o connect it t o the upr ight colum n posts. When com plet ing this step, be m indful of t he cable and m ake sure it doesn't get squashed ( view r ight )
. Step 6 Fix t he display panel on bot h sides using ( 4x) 8m m bolts

Step 7 I nstall t he pulse m eter t ube to t he t wo upright colum ns and fix it w it h ( 2x) 8m m bolt s ( view right ) . Please not e t hat t he heart r ate m et er is operat ed via independent AA bat t eries which need to be inst alled.
Step 8 Go over t he ent ir e t readm ill and ensure all fix ings ar e t ight ly secured and t he t readm ill is soundly const ructed. Be sure to t ighten t he bolt s m entioned in Step 4.

2 .1 Folding I nstruct ions
Do not at t em pt t o m ov e t he unit unless it is in t he folded and lock ed posit ion. Be sure t he power cord is secured to avoid possible dam age.
l To fold t he t r eadm ill: Lift t he t readm ill running deck unt il t he support ing m echanism is ov er t he safet y lat ch.
l To Unfold t he t readm ill: Apply slight forward pressur e on t he t r eadm ill r unning deck . Pull t he black safet y lat ch out wards, and slowly lower t he running deck t o t he floor ( See below) .

3 .1 Safety Key
I MPORTANT: The t r eadm ill w ill not operat e if t he safet y key is not in place. Before starting t he tr eadm ill, at tach t he m agnet ic key t o t he display panel, and then att ach the clip on the ot her end to your clothing ( above the waist ) . I f the safet y key is r emoved whilst you are operat ion t he tr eadm ill, t he m achine will t urn itself off.
When the t readm ill is not in use, you should rem ove t he safety key. St ore t he safety key in a safe place OUT OF REACH OF CHI LDREN.
3 .2 Get t ing St art ed
Power t he t r eadm ill on by plugging it int o an appropriat e wall out let , t hen t urn on t he power swit ch locat ed at t he front of t he t r eadm ill below t he m ot or shield. Ensur e t hat t he safe t y k ey is inst alled, as the t readm ill will not power on wit hout it. When t he power is t urned on, all t he lights on t he display will light for a short t im e.

3 .3 Quick- Start Operation:

1. Pr ess and release t he START t o wake display up ( if not already 0n) . Not e: I nst alling the safety key will also wake up the console.
2. Pr ess and release t he START t o begin belt m ovem ent , at 1.0 Km / hr, t hen adj ust t o t he desir ed speed using t he up or down speed keys. You can also use t o num ber ed k eys 1- 9 t o select a desir ed speed. The speed r ange is from 1.0km / h t o 22.0km / h.
3. To slow t he t readm ill down, press and hold t he `down' speed key t o desir ed speed or use t he num bered keys 1- 9.
4. To st op t he tr eadm ill press and release t he STOP butt on. I t will slow down gradually.
3 .4 I ncline Feature:
l I ncline m ay be adjusted anytim e after belt m ovem ent. l The incline range is from 0 t o 20% . l Press t he incline `up' and `down' keys t o achieve desir ed lev el of effort . l The display will indicat e incline percent as adj ust m ents ar e m ade. l I ncline will rem ain in its posit ion when display is turned off.
3 .5 Pulse Grip Feat ur e:
The Pulse ( Heart Rat e) console window will display y our current hear t rat e in beat s per m inut e dur ing t he workout . You m ust use bot h st ainless steel sensors t o display y our pulse. Pulse value displays anyt im e t he upper display is receiv ing a Grip Pulse signal. Please not e that the heart r ate m eter is operat ed via independent AA batteries which need to be inst alled.
3 .6 Calorie Display:
Displays t he cum ulative calories burned at any given t im e during your wor kout . Not e: This is only a rough guide used for com parison of differ ent exercise Sessions, which cannot be used for m edical purposes.
3 .7 To Select a Preset Pr ogr am :
Pr ess t he Mode k ey, Hear t rat e window will display P0 [ P0 is t he m anual m ode] . Press 1- 8 t o select preset progr am s P1 t o P8 ( Preset program s t able below) . Each pr ogr am is 30 m inut es. Press St ar t key t o begin. Speed and I ncline will change at 2 m inut e int er vals.

To finish a work out at any t im e j ust Pr ess STOP or 0 key and t he t readm ill w ill st op, incline will reset it self t o 0 % incline and if no key s are pushed for 2 m inut es the screen will shut down. By t ouching any key will autom at ically power up display

3.8 User Program
When in P0 pr ess Reset key t o reset t he m achine, pr ess speed k ey and set speed required, pr ess t im e key and set t im e required or you can choose to pr ess dist ance key and set dist ance required rat her t han speed. PLEASE NOTE: YOU CANNOT SET TI ME AND DI STANCE WI THI N THE SAME EXERCI SE. YOU WI LL NOT GET THE DESI RED WORKOUT. YOU MUST SELECT EI THER TI ME OR DI STANCE WI TH THE SPEED FUNCTI ON. Now press St ar t and t r eadm ill will aut om at ically speed up t o preset v alues. NOTE speeds highest set t ing is 22 km / h and Tim e and Dist ance will count down t o zero but will warn you wit h a buzz t hat it is going t o st op. You can press clear t o reset display t o zero.

4 .1 Ge ner al Cle anin g
l Use a soft , dam p cloth t o wipe the edge of t he belt and t he area between t he belt edge and fr am e. A m ild soap and water solution along wit h a nylon scrub brush will clean t he t op of t he t ext ur ed belt . This t ask should be done once a m ont h. Allow t o dry before using.
l On a m ont hly basis, vacuum underneath your t readm ill t o pr event dust build up. Once a y ear, you should rem ove t he black m otor shield and vacuum out dirt t hat m ay accum ulat e.
4 .2 Gener al Car e
· Check part s for wear befor e use. · Pay par t icular at t ent ion to t he fix ing knobs and m ake sure t hey are t ight . · Always replace t he m at if wor n and any other defect ive parts. · I f in doubt do not use the t readm ill and cont act our helpline.

TAKE CARE TO PROTECT CARPETS AND FLOOR in case of leakages. This product is a m achine that cont ains moving parts which have been greased / lubricat ed and could leak.
4 .3 Belt/ Deck / Roller Lubrication:
The m at / deck frict ion m ay play a m aj or role in t he funct ion and life of your t readm ill and that is why we recom mend you const antly lubricate this fr iction point to prolong the useful life of your treadm ill. Lubricat ion is prov ided wit h t his unit . You should apply t he enclosed lubricat ion aft er approxim ately t he first 50 hours of operat ion. We r ecom m end lubricat ion of t he deck according t o t he following t im et able: Light use ( less t hat 3 hours per week) every 6 m ont hs Medium use ( 3- 5 hours a week) every 3 m ont hs Heavy use (m ore than 5 hours per week) every 6- 8 weeks.
See below procedures for lubr icating: 1. Use a soft , dr y clot h t o wipe t he area between t he belt and deck. 2. Spread lubricant onto t he inside surface of belt and deck evenly ( m ake sure t he
m achine is t urned off and power is disconnect ed) . 3. Periodically lubricat e t he front and r ear rollers t o keep t hem at t here peak perform ance. I f t he tr eadm ill belt/ deck/ roller is kept reasonably clean it is possible t o expect over 1200 hours before addit ional re- lubing is necessary.
4 .4 How t o check t he running m at for proper lubricat ion:
1. Disconnect t he m ain power supply. 2. Fold t he t readm ill up int o t he st or age posit ion. 3. Feel t he back sur face of t he r unning m at . I f t he sur face is slick when t ouched, t hen no fur ther lubricat ion is needed. I f t he sur face is dry t o t he touch, apply a suitable silicone lubricant .

4 .5 Belt Adj ust m ent Belt Tension Adj ust m ent -I t is very im portant for j oggers and runners in order to
pr ovide a smooth, steady r unning sur face. Adj ust m ent m ust be m ade fr om t he r ight and left r ear r oller in order t o adj ust t ension wit h t he Hexagonal Wrench provided in the parts package. The adj ust m ent bolt is locat ed at t he end of t he rails as not ed in diagram below:

Right bolt Note: Adjust ment is thru the sm all hold on the end caps.

Tight en t he rear roller only enough t o prevent slippage at t he front roller. Tur n bot h t he right and left bolt clockwise r easonably and inspect for proper t ension. When an adj ustm ent is m ade t o t he belt tension, you m ust also m ake a tr acking adjust ment to compensat e for t he change in belt tension. DO NOT OVERTI GHTEN - Over t ight ening will cause belt dam age and prem ature bear ing failu r e.

4 .6 Belt Tracking Adj ustm ent :

This t r eadm ill is designed t o k eep t he belt r easonably cent red while in use. I t is nor m al

for som e belt s to dr ift near one side while t he belt is r unning wit h no one on it . Aft er a

few m inutes of use, t he belt should have a t endency t o centr e it self. I f dur ing use, t he

belt cont inues t o m ove t oward one side, adj ust m ent s are necessary. The procedures are

as below:

 First set speed at lowest posit ion.

I f t he belt shift s t o right , t ight en t he right bolt and loosen t he left bolt by using 6m m Hexagonal Wr ench, until t he belt is cent er ed it self; I f belt shift s t o left , t ight en t he left bolt and loosen t he right bolt by using 6m m Hex agonal Wr ench, until t he belt is cent er ed. When adj ust ing t he belt using t he 6 m m Hexagonal Wrenches, it is im por tant t o adj ust t he belt in half t urn increm ents. Ov er adj ust ing t he belt can cause dam age to the m at.
5 TROUBLE SHOOTI NG
This t r eadm ill is designed in a way t hat in t he event of an elect r ical fault , t he m achine will t urn off aut om atically t o prevent any injur ies to the user and to pr event dam age to the m achine ( i.e. m otor ) . When t he tr eadm ill behaves err atically, sim ply r eset t he tr eadm ill by t urning t he power switch off, wait ing for 1 m inut e t hen turning the power button back on. I f, aft er you have reset the t readm ill, it is still not running corr ect ly , please run the selfchecking analyse (please refer t o 3 .3 Se lf- Che ck in g) to dist inguish what t ype of error problem the m achine is encounter ing.
5 .1 Alarm signals
Before attem pt ing any w ork on the t readm ill, ensure t hat the pow er is off a nd the plug is rem oved from the pow er point. Do not use e x tension le a ds a s it m a y lea d to pow e r decrea se a nd fa ilure .

Check t hat t he speed sensor and m agnet ar e in correct alignm ent and t hat t here ar e no obstruct ions on t he m agnet . ( The m agnet can be found on t he front roller near the m otor belt) . 3. I f t he running belt m oves t hen displays t he E1 error replace t he speed sensor . 4. I f t he running belt does not m ove replace the controller .
