Kaepa's story began with a moment of ingenuity from its founder, Thomas Adams. During a tennis match in Milwaukee, Tom's shoelace broke, but instead of stopping, he improvised--tying two separate bows with the broken lace. As a result, he immediately realized better fit and control. So he cut the lace on his other shoe and even modified the sides for added flexibility. This quick fix led to the creation of Kaepa's patented double-lacing, split-vamp technology, revolutionizing footwear for sports such as basketball, volleyball, and tennis.
