Connecting the headphones with the included cable
Connect the included headphone balanced cable or unbalanced cable to the headphones.
Make sure that the correct cable plugs, L (left) and R (right) are plugged into the correct sides on the headphones, and firmly insert the plugs all the way into the Cable jacks.
NOTICE
( When plugging or unplugging the cable, make sure to grip the plugs with your hand. If you pull too hard on the cable itself, the cable wires may break.
( Insert the plug all the way into the jack. If the plug is not fully inserted, you may hear no sound, or you may hear breaks in the sound.
( The audio may sound strange if you get the L (left) and R (right) Cable jacks mixed up.

This shows you how to connect the included cable to an audio device such as a headphone amplifier.
CAUTION
( Make sure to turn the volume all the way down on the devices you connect to this product to beforehand.

Put the headphone marked L on your left ear, and put the headphone marked R on your right ear.
Make sure that each headphone covers your entire ear.

( Be careful not to get your fingers or hair caught in the movable part of the slider. ( Do not forcibly pull on the movable part of the slider. These actions may cause a malfunction. Follow these steps to replace the earpads.
1 Hold the earpad and rotate counterclockwise while pulling the earpad towards you

2 Align the replacement earpad with the marked areas inside the headphone
housing. The housings are marked on the inside with "L" for the left side and "R" for the right side. Align the respective "L" and "R" markings on the housings with those on the earpads.

Daily maintenance
( Use a dry and soft cloth when wiping the product. ( Do not use disinfectant solutions containing alcohol or similar liquids. ( To prevent rust or deformation, always keep the product dry and avoid placing it in extremely cold or hot
locations. ( Be careful not to heat the product with a hairdryer or heating device. ( Do not expose this product to direct sunlight for long periods of time.
Headband
( If the headband gets dirty, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth or a tightly wrung cloth. ( Wipe the headband regularly to remove any dust.
Head pad
( If the head pad gets dirty, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth or a tightly wrung cloth. Do not use disinfectant solutions containing alcohol or similar liquids.
( Wipe the head pad regularly to remove any dust.
Housing
( Use a dry and soft cloth to wipe off the surface of the housing. ( When cleaning the housing mesh covering, use a dry cloth, cotton swab, air blower, a commercially
available air duster or similar tool. When using an air blower, a commercially available air duster or the like, be careful not to propel too much air on the precision moving parts such as the driver unit, as this may cause a malfunction.

Earpads
( Do not use shoe polish, solvents (such as thinner or benzine), or disinfectant solutions containing alcohol or similar liquids.
( Hair care products may cause damage to leather. If any such products get on the earpads, carefully wipe them off.
( The earpads may naturally degrade over time, even when stored and used normally. We recommend that you replace the earpads soon if they have degraded.
NOTE
Some parts of the earpads use all-natural leather, giving each one a slightly different appearance and feel. Note that the leather surfaces may become discolored or wrinkled, depending on how they are used.
Cable plugs
( Use a dry and soft cloth or similar material when wiping.

You can store this product in the box when you are not using it. We recommend that you maintain and clean the product before storing it, to keep it in good condition to use for a long time.

If this product does not operate normally while you are using it, check the following points. [Search tag] #Q01 Troubleshooting
No sound can be heard
( The cable may not be correctly connected.
Make sure that the cable is correctly plugged in all the way into the headphones and the connection jack on your audio device. ( "Connections" (p.7)
( The power of the audio playback device might not be on.
Turn on the power of your connected device.
( The volume is too low.
Raise the volume on your connected device.
( The audio stopped playing back.
Start playback.
Sound is not good or sounds strange
( You might be wearing the headphones on the wrong sides (L/R).
Check that the left (L) and right (R) headphones are worn on the correct sides. ( "Putting the headphones on" (p.10)
( The left (L) and right (R) plugs of the balanced or unbalanced cable might be plugged into the
wrong jacks on the headphones. Check the left (L) and right (R) jacks on the headphones and connect the plugs correctly. ( "Connections" (p.7)
( The earpads may not be correctly attached.
Check whether the left (L) and right (R) earpads are attached to the correct sides of the headphones. ( The earpads are replaceable parts. As the earpads are an important part of this product that affect the sound quality, we recommend that you replace them soon if they are degraded or damaged.
( The serial number that is engraved on the headband cannot be engraved again on the replacement part if the headband is repaired or replaced.
( If one of the driver units on the headphones is damaged or malfunctioning, you may notice a difference in sound between the left and right sides. For this reason, we recommend replacing both sides at the same time.

PRECAUTIONS
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USE. BE SURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
The precautions listed below are to prevent risk of harm to the user and others, as well as to prevent property damage, and to help the user use this product properly and safely. Be sure to follow these instructions. After reading this manual, be sure to keep it in a safe place where it can be referenced at any time.
· Be sure to request inspections or repairs from the dealer where you purchased the unit or from qualified Yamaha service personnel.
· Yamaha cannot be held responsible for injury to you or damage of the products caused by improper use or modifications to the unit.
· This product is for ordinary homes. Do not use for applications requiring high reliability, such as managing lives, health care or high-value assets.

Handling
· Do not use this product while driving or cycling. Also, do not use this product when you need to hear what is going on around you, such as at a railroad crossing or construction site. Reduced ability to hear surrounding sound increases the risk of an accident.

If you notice any abnormality
· If any of the following abnormalities occur, unplug the headphone cable from the device and stop using it immediately. - A strange odor or smoke is emitted by the product - Foreign objects or water get into the product - The product is unusually hot - The product is cracked or damaged Continuing to use the product in these situations may result in burns, injury, electric shock or malfunctions. Contact Yamaha customer service for assistance.
Do not disassemble
· Do not disassemble or modify this unit. Failure to observe this may cause electric shock, injuries or malfunctions.
PRECAUTIONS
Water warning
· Do not use this product in wet conditions, such as in a bathroom or outdoors in the rain, or where the product may be exposed to tap water or seawater. If liquids such as tap water or seawater get into this product, this may cause electric shock or malfunctions. If the product is wet, wipe it off with a soft, dry cloth.
· Do not handle this product with wet hands. Also, never insert or unplug the headphone cable with wet hands. Doing so may result in malfunction.
Fire warning
· Do not place any burning items or open flames near this product. This may cause a malfunction.
Handling
· Do not drop this product or expose it to strong impact. This may cause a malfunction or damage the product, as the driver unit on this product is a precision instrument.
Hearing loss
· Do not expose yourself to high volume sound for an extended period of time. Otherwise, hearing loss may be caused. Avoid listening for more than 40 hours per week at a volume level of 80 dB (A), or more than five hours per week at a volume level of 89 dB (A). If you experience any hearing abnormality, consult a physician.
· Make sure to turn the volume all the way down on the devices you connect this product to beforehand. Failure to do so may cause hearing loss, electric shock, or damage to this product.
· Before connecting the unit to other devices, turn off the power for all devices. Failing to do so may result in hearing loss, electric shock, or device damage.
Handling caution
· Do not do the following: - Sitting or placing your weight on top of this product. - Placing heavy objects on top of this product. - Applying excessive force to the input jack. - Pulling on the headphone cable while it is connected. Failure to observe this may cause injury to the user, or damage to this product.
· Do not operate this product if the sound is distorting. Prolonged use in this condition could cause overheating and result in fire.
· Keep small parts out of the reach of infants. Your children may accidentally swallow them.
· In case the earpads irritate your skin, stop use immediately. · Otherwise, inflammation or rash may be caused. · Do not install this product in places where it may come into contact
with corrosive gases or salt air or places that have excessive smoke or steam. Doing so may result in malfunction.

· Do not dry this product off with hot or warm air from a hair dryer. Failure to observe this may damage the product.
· Do not do anything that might damage the headphone cable, including the following: - Placing the product near heating equipment, such as a stove - Forcibly tugging on the product - Bending or twisting the product - Placing heavy objects on or pinching the product These actions may cause a malfunction.
· Unplug the headphone cable connecting the headphones to your audio equipment when you are not using this product. Failure to do so may result in the headphone cable of this product getting pulled and tipped over by your foot or the product may fall down, incurring damage or otherwise causing a malfunction.
· When plugging or unplugging the headphone cable, make sure to grip the plug with your hand. If you pull too hard on the cable, the cable wires may break.
· When you connect the headphone cable to the headphones or to audio equipment such as a headphone amp, make sure that the plug is fully inserted. If the plug is not fully inserted, you may hear no sound, or you may hear breaks in the sound.
· When connecting the headphones to your audio equipment, do not try to insert the wrong ends of the cable into the wrong jacks. Forcibly inserting the plug may cause a malfunction.
· When connecting this product to a headphone amp or other such audio equipment, carefully read the Owner's Manual for each device and follow the instructions before connecting. Mishandling such equipment due to a failure to follow the instructions may cause a malfunction.

· Do not handle the earpads with wet hands. This may cause deformation, discoloration or deterioration.

· If the driver units are repaired or replaced, you may notice a difference in sound between the left and right sides. For this reason, we recommend replacing both sides at the same time.
