PicoAPRS V4 Quick Start Guide

This guide provides essential information for quickly setting up and operating your PicoAPRS V4 device.

Device Overview

The PicoAPRS V4 features a non-touchscreen display. The on-screen buttons correspond to the functions of the 5-way button, directing its actions to the LEFT and RIGHT.

Getting Started

Powering On

To power on your PicoAPRS, press and hold the PTT button for 3 seconds.

Powering Off

To power off, press the "MENU" (left button) and select the "Power OFF" menu item.

Charging

Connect a USB-C power source to charge the device. The PicoAPRS will charge even when powered off, but will not display a charging indicator on the screen in that state.

Operating Modes

2m APRS Mode

Your PicoAPRS V4 starts in "2m APRS" mode by default.

Setting Callsign, SSID, APRS Icon, and Comment: While viewing the main screen, press the "SET" (right button).
Changing Device Mode: While viewing the main screen, press the "MENU" (left button). Navigate to "Settings" using the 5-way button. In the Settings menu, you can change the device mode and other settings.
Setting FM Voice Frequency and Other Settings: While viewing the main screen, press the "SET" (right button).

The arrows on the screen indicate that the UP and DOWN buttons have functions. In FM-Voice mode, these buttons can be used to change the speaker volume.
