Important: Our calibration instructions are for tanks already i filled with water. If your tank is empty please refer to our video and follow the instructions provided. Assembly and Installation 01 Drill a 2mm hole in the tank (+-) 70mm to the right of the tank overflow. Ensure that the hole is aligned to the centre of the overflow. 02 Screw the pre-glued BSP adapter assembly (A) into the tank overflow and tighten it securely. Ensure that the elbow at the end of the assembly points to the bottom and that the entire assembly is level. 03 Test fit the PVC pipes (D) to the BSP adapter assembly (A). Important: Don't glue the pipes together yet. Install the first pipe with the flanged end pointing downwards. Connect the remaining pipes to achieve the desired length based on your tank's height. Ensure the last pipe at the bottom of the tank is positioned 60mm above ground level, cutting the pipe as needed to fit. 04 Lastly, test fit the elbow (G) to the bottom of the pipe. The elbow should face forward and be approximately 20mm above ground level. 05 Disassemble the bottom elbow and the pipes one by one, and then reassemble all but the last pipe and elbow by using a small amount of PVC glue (H) at each joint. Twist the pipes (D) to minimize gaps and clean off any residue or dirt to ensure the tank level indicator (C) has a smooth surface to slide over. 06 Slide the tank level indicator (C) over the pipe from the bottom. Note: The JoJo logo on the tank level indicator should face up when correctly orientated. 07 Glue the last pipe and elbow (G) in place and clean off any residue or dirt. Calibrating your Tank Level 08 Keep the weight (F) and the float ball (B) close for easy access. 09 Keep the weight (F) and the float ball (B) close for easy access. 10 Next, thread the string (E) through the loop on the top of the weight (F), and place the weight on top of the tank. 11 Thread the string (E) through the loop on the float ball (B) and secure it in place with a tight knot. 12 Hold the float ball (B) in one hand, with the other hand take hold of the string (E) from the outside of the hole you drilled and use the float ball and string to gently lower the weight (F) to the bottom of the tank. Ensure the string is free of knots and twists, and position the weight directly beneath the hole you drilled, as close to the tank wall as possible. Important: While doing this do not drop the float ball inside the tank, place it on any available surface next to the tank where it will be secure until required. 13 Starting from the top, thread the string (E) that is left on the outside of the hole you drilled through the loop on the elbow of the BSP adapter assembly (A). Then, thread it through the hole in the steel section of the tank level indicator (C). 14 Lift the string (E) until the tank level indicator (C) is at its highest-level and flush against the elbow that is part of the BSP adapter assembly (A). 15 While tightly holding the string (E) to prevent the tank level indicator from dropping, position the float ball (B) inside the tank at the same level as the hole you drilled. Note: The float ball and the tank level indicator should be at the same level. 16 Mark the string (E) at the hole in the steel section of the tank level indicator (C), and once you are sure that the mark is in the correct place, you can drop the float ball (B) inside the tank. 17 Tie the string (E) to the steel section of the tank level indicator (C) at the position you marked earlier. If you release the tank level indicator, it will align with the water level inside your tank, matching the float ball's position. Once you are satisfied with the calibrated tank level and the final knot location, you can trim any excess string. Finishing Touches 18 Use the offcut pipe left to extend the elbow (G) horizontally to divert any overflow water away from the tank. 19 Using the pipe support clip (I), secure the horizontal pipe to your tank stand or foundation. This is important as it holds the entire assembly in place. Testing the Unit Once installed, your tank level indicator (C) should seamlessly slide up and down your overflow pipe to indicate the water level inside your tank. Tip If the indicator gets stuck, inspect the string for any knots or twists and the pipes for any obstructions or dirt. It is also recommended to regularly inspect your tank to ensure there is no excessive sludge build-up.Adobe PDF library 17.00 Adobe Illustrator 28.7 (Macintosh)
