Introduction

When you are away from home, the smart camera functions help you stay connected. The Pan/Tilt Home Security Wi-Fi Camera helps you monitor your home anytime, anywhere. Receive notifications when motion is detected and view video clips.

  • Motion Detection and Tracking: Automatically follows subjects and keeps them within the camera's field of view.
  • Person Detection: Notifies you when a person is detected.
  • Baby Crying Detection: Notifies you when your baby cries.
  • 1080p Full High-Definition Video: Provides greater sharpness and clarity.
  • Night Vision up to 30 ft: Offers a visual distance up to 30 ft in total darkness.
  • Two-Way Audio: Allows real-time communication through a built-in microphone and speaker.
  • Field of View: A 360° horizontal range for a detailed view of your room.
  • Customizable Block Zones: Set zones to prevent private areas from being monitored.

  • Local microSD Storage: Store up to 512 GB of video on a microSD card. microSD card must be purchased separately.

Appearance

The Pan/Tilt Home Security Wi-Fi Camera features a system LED that changes color based on its status, a lens, microphone, speaker, DC power port, RESET button, and a microSD card slot.

Set Up Your Camera via Tapo

Follow these steps to get started with your new camera:

Step 1. Download Tapo App

Get the Tapo app from the App Store or Google Play, or by scanning the QR code.

Step 2. Log In

Open the app and log in with your TP-Link ID. If you don't have an account, create one first.

Step 3. Add Your Camera

Tap the '+' button in the app on the home page and select your model. Follow the app instructions to complete the setup.

Set Up Using Amazon Frustration-Free Setup

What is Amazon Frustration-Free Setup?

Amazon Frustration-Free Setup (FFS) helps connect and set up Tapo smart devices with fewer steps, without needing to re-enter your Wi-Fi password. To use this feature, ensure:

  • The new Tapo device supports Amazon FFS.
  • The new Tapo device was purchased from Amazon.
  • You have an Amazon FFS-enabled Alexa device or router.
  • Your Wi-Fi information is saved to Amazon via Alexa.
  • Your Tapo device and router are on the same network as your Alexa device.

If the LED does not turn solid green after a long time, try adding the Tapo device manually: Press the Reset button once, then open the Tapo app, tap the '+' button, select your device model, and follow the app instructions.

How to use Amazon Frustration-Free Setup with Tapo devices

1. Open the Amazon Alexa app. Then tap 'More' and select 'Skills & Games'.

2. Enter Tapo in the search bar and choose Tapo.

3. Tap the 'ENABLE TO USE' button.

4. Log in with your TP-Link ID that is bound to your Tapo device, and tap 'Authorize'. A confirmation message "Tapo has been successfully linked" will appear.

5. Plug in your Tapo device and the setup will complete automatically in two minutes. For setting up more Tapo devices, just plug them in and enjoy!

Done! If the device appears on the Home page in the Tapo app, it's successfully associated with your Amazon account and joined your Wi-Fi network. If not, try setting it up manually (tap '+' in the app, select model, follow instructions).

Install a microSD Card

Follow the steps below or the setup video at https://www.tp-link.com/support/setup-video/#cloud-cameras to install the microSD card for local recording. You can check the card status or format it in the Tapo app under Camera Settings > microSD Card.

Please initialize the microSD card in the Tapo app first after inserting it.

1. Tilt the camera lens up and find the microSD card slot.

2. Identify the direction of the microSD card and carefully insert it into the slot. Push until you hear a clicking sound.

How to Mount Your Camera

After adding your camera in the Tapo app, you can place it on a flat surface like a table or shelf. It can also be mounted on a wall or ceiling using the provided mounting template and screws. Follow the steps below or the setup video at https://www.tp-link.com/support/setup-video/#cloud-cameras.

Ensure the camera base is affixed with screws before securing the camera.

1. Mark Position

Place the mounting template where you want the camera. For wall mounting, drill two holes through the indicated circles.

2. Mount Base

Affix the camera base using screws. For wall mounting, insert anchors into the holes and use screws to attach the base.

3. Secure Camera

Attach the camera onto the base and rotate to secure it.

How to Reset Your Camera

Follow the steps below to reset your camera using the Reset button, or refer to the setup video at https://www.tp-link.com/support/setup-video/#cloud-cameras. You can also factory reset the camera via the Tapo app by going to Camera Settings and tapping 'Remove Device'.

1. Manually rotate the camera downwards to find the Reset button.

2. Press and hold the RESET button for at least 5 seconds until the LED blinks red quickly to reset the camera.
