Quick Start Guide

Before proceeding, ensure you have followed the instructions to "pair" the Q-380EW with your mini-split (air conditioner/heat pump). Refer to the separate Quick Start Guide or the main manual for pairing instructions.

Powering the Controller

For Wi-Fi functionality, the controller must be plugged into wall power and remain pointed at the mini-split unit. There are two ways to power the controller:

• Via the wall base.
• Via a wall mount (direct plug).

Note: If the controller is disconnected from wall power, it will still control the mini-split using the physical buttons. However, remote control via your phone will not be possible. The controller can also function as a flashlight when unplugged.

App Control and Scheduling

When plugged into wall power, you can control the mini-split using the "Genius Remote" app on your smartphone. This allows for setting up schedules.

Steps to Set Up Wi-Fi:

1. Download the "Genius Remote" app.
2. Register an account within the app.
3. Create a password that is 4-12 characters long, using only numbers or letters.

After registering, you will need to log in to the app.

Adding a Device:

1. In the app, select "Add Device".
2. Choose "AC Remote Controller" from the list of device types.

Follow the on-screen instructions on your phone to complete the configuration. This typically involves ensuring your phone is connected to Wi-Fi, keeping the remote control plugged in, and holding the "ON/OFF" button for 5 seconds until the display shows "01" and the Wi-Fi icon begins flashing.
