Product Usage Instructions

Determine Lock Head:
Determine which of the three interchangeable lock heads fits the lock slot on your computer.

Assembling the Lock:
Insert the lock head that fits the lock slot on your computer into the lock body.

Installing the Lock:
Anchor the cable to an immovable object like a desk leg or data hole. If no natural anchor point is available, use an external fastener. Insert the lock into the security slot of your computer and press the lock button.

Unlocking the Lock:
To unlock, turn the key to the right to remove the lock from your computer.

FAQ:

  • When changing lock heads, the new lock head won’t go all the way into the lock body.
    Ensure the lock is unlocked and the lock button is not depressed before inserting the lock head into the lock body.
  • When pressing the lock button, the lock head gets pushed out of the lock body.
    The lock head has not been inserted completely. It should sit flush with the end of the lock body when seated correctly.
  • When inserting the lock into your device, it is hard to press the lock button.
    You may be using the wrong lock head. Check your device settings for security slot information.
  • How do I remove the lock head?
    With the lock unlocked, pull the lock head straight out of the lock body.
  • What if there isn’t a natural anchoring point?
    A glue-on external fastener can be attached to a desk with permission.
  • How many keys are included? 
    2 keys are included with each kit.
  • How long is the cable?
    The cable length is 6.5 ft.

  • If you purchased a specific-sized kit, the lock head is already pre-assembled.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • When changing lock heads, the new lock head won’t go all the way into the lock body.
    Ensure the lock is unlocked and the lock button is not depressed before inserting the lock head into the lock body. If the lock button is depressed (even partially) on the lock body, you will not be able to fully insert the lock head.
  • When pressing the lock button, the lock head gets pushed out of the lock body
    The lock head has not been inserted completely. The lock head should sit flush with the end of the lock body when it is seated correctly.
  • When inserting the lock into your device, it is hard to press the lock button
    You may be using the wrong lock head. Check your device settings for security slot information
    Make sure the lock is pressed all the way into the security slot before depressing the lock button
  • How do I remove the lock head?
    With the lock unlocked, pull the lock head straight out of the lock body.
  • What if there isn’t a natural anchoring point?
    A glue-on external fastener can be attached to a desk to use as an anchor. (This is a semi-permanent option and should only be used with permission)
  • How many keys are included?
