Speed control You can regulat e t he speed st eplessly wit h t he adj ust ing wheel [1-6] in t he speed range ( see Technical dat a) . This enables you t o optim ise the cutting speed to suit the surface ( see table) . Constant speed The preselect ed m ot or speed rem ains constant through electronic control to ensure a uniform cutting speed even when under load. 13 GB ROTEX Temperature cut-out The m achine power supply is lim it ed and t he speed reduced if the m otor exceeds a certain t em perat ure. The m achine cont inues operat ing at reduced power to allow the ventilator t o cool t he m ot or quickly. I f t he m achine tem perature exceeds the m axim um perm itted value for longer periods, the m achine switches off com pletely after approx. 40 seconds and can only be switched on again once t he m ot or has cooled sufficient ly. 7.2 Setting sanding motion [3] The change- over swit ch [1-2] can be used to set three different sanding m otions. L This change- over can only be carried out with the sanding pad stationary because the switch is locked during operation. Coarse sanding, polishing - ROTEX rotary motion The Rot ex rot ary m ot ion is a com bination of rotary and eccentric m ot ions. This posit ion is select ed for sanding with high output ( coarse sanding) and polishing. Fine sanding - eccentric motion This posit ion is select ed for sanding with low output for a scratch-free surface (fine sanding). Triangular sanding and pad change [4] This posit ion is used for sanding with the delta sanding pad and slat sanding pad; the rotary m otion is blocked. You can change t he sanding pad in this position. LThe st op rod [1-8] blocks t he installation of the sanding pad in the change- over swit ch posit ions ROTEX rot ary m otion and eccentric m otion. 7.3 Changing sanding/polishing pad [5] L Only use sanding and polishing pads t hat are suitable for the m axim um speed specified. Tuned t o t he surface being processed, t he m achine can be equipped with two sanding pads of different hardnesses. Hard: Coarse and fine sanding on surfaces. Sanding edges. Soft: Universal for coarse and fine sanding, for flat and convex surfaces. When t he int erface pad [1-12] is fit t ed on the sanding pad, strength is reduced = extra sof t . X Following t he sanding pad change, swit ch t he change- over swit ch [1-2] t o t he desired sanding m otion. 7.4 Changing sanding pad [6] The delt a sanding pad DSS- GE- STF- RO90 can be used for sanding close to borders, in corners or on edges. The slat sanding pad LSS- STF- RO90 can be used for sanding in narrow gaps, e.g. louvres. Observe the following instructions: Work in corners and on edges t ends t o subj ect the tip to increased stress and results in increased heat developm ent.
