*When using a 6s battery, it is recommended to weld a capacitor (above 50V / 47uF) at the power input end.
Linking
- Connect the air unit and the power of the goggles.
- Wait for the air unit to initialize. The green light will flash, and the status icon will appear on the goggles.
- Press the link button on both the air unit and the goggles. The air unit's indicator light will turn red when it enters pairing state, and the goggles will emit a "di... di... di..." sound.
- Upon successful pairing, the air unit's indicator light will turn solid green, and the beeping sound from the goggles will stop, displaying the image.
Firmware Upgrade
Download the upgrade firmware from the official website. The files are named Avatar_Sky_X.X.X.img
for the air unit and Avatar_Gnd_X.X.X.img
for the goggles. Copy the appropriate file to the air unit or an SD card without changing the filename.
Note: The U disk function requires the power to be turned on.
- Copy the upgrade file to the root directory of the air unit and goggles. Connect to power and wait for initialization. If an old firmware file exists, delete it first.
- Press and hold the pairing button on both the air unit and goggles for 8 seconds. The air unit's indicator will flash red when it enters upgrade status, and the goggles will beep "di......di......di......".
- The upgrade process may take time; monitor ambient temperature and avoid power interruption.
- After a successful upgrade, the air unit's indicator will flash green, and the goggles' beeping will stop after 5 seconds. Re-sync after the upgrade is complete.
UART Configuration
The UART function allows the air unit to communicate with the flight controller for information exchange. The following describes the UART setting method using Betaflight Configurator.
- Solder the white and gray wires of the 6-pin cable to the flight controller (refer to the Connection page).
- Connect the flight controller to Betaflight Configurator. Open the corresponding UART port (e.g., UART1), enable the MSP switch, and click Save.
- Open the CLI command line and enter the following commands:
set osd_displayport_device = MSP
set displayport_msp_serial = Y
(Replace Y with the serial port number minus one; e.g., Y=2 for serial 3)save
