The SwitchBot Contact Sensor consists of two main parts: the main unit and a magnet component. The main unit houses multiple sensors and a button for interaction.

4. Installation

4.1 Installation de la batterie

  1. Faites glisser délicatement le couvercle arrière de l'unité de capteur principale pour l'ouvrir.
  2. Insert the 2 AAA batteries into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Slide the back cover firmly until it clicks into place.

4.2 Directives de placement

For accurate detection, adhere to the following guidelines:

  • The magnet component must be aligned with the bottom of the main sensor body.
  • The distance between the main unit and the magnet component must be less than 1.2 inches (30mm) when the door or window is closed.
  • Consider the location for optimal motion and light detection, ensuring no obstructions.

4.3 options de montage

The sensor can be mounted using either adhesive pads or screws:

  • Using 3M Adhesive Pads:
    1. Clean the surface where the sensor will be mounted, ensuring it is dry and free of dust.
    2. Peel the protective backing from the 3M adhesive pads and firmly press them onto the back of both the main unit and the magnet component.
    3. Press the sensor components firmly onto the desired surface, holding for 30 seconds to ensure strong adhesion.
  • Using Screws (for permanent installation):
    1. Remove the back cover of the main unit.
    2. Mark the positions for the screws through the designated holes on the back cover.
    3. Drill pilot holes if necessary and insert wall anchors (provided) for drywall or plaster.
    4. Secure the back cover with screws, then slide the main unit onto the secured cover.
    5. Repeat for the magnet component if screw mounting is preferred.

5. Setup with SwitchBot App

5.1 Download and Install the SwitchBot App

Download the latest version of the SwitchBot app from your device's app store (available on Google Play and Apple App Store).

5.2 Add the Contact Sensor

  1. Open the SwitchBot app and log in or create an account.
