Questions & Answers

  1. Hello what does the code P1035 mean

Michelle asks Hello what does the code P1035 mean
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

What does the OBD2 error code P1035 mean?

    Answer

The FOXWELL NT301 manual provides a built-in DTC GUIDE and a HELP key to look up code definitions directly on the device. If the code appears with a "?" symbol, you can press the HELP button (labeled 'N' on the device diagram) to get a guide for possible car issues.

Regarding the specific code P1035: This is typically a manufacturer-specific code rather than a generic global OBD2 code. For many vehicles (such as Volkswagen, Audi, or Toyota), it often relates to the Oxygen (O2) Sensor Heater Control Circuit or a Variable Valve Timing (VVT) sensor issue. However, because definitions vary by vehicle make and year, you should use the NT301's built-in lookup function or check your specific vehicle's service manual for the most accurate interpretation.

  2. I brought one of these things for 12/2016 BT 50 what a waste of money the thing won’t leave the startup screen now lives in the bin never by FOXWELL brand again Wally

Anonymous asks I brought one of these things for 12/2016 BT 50 what a waste of money the thing won’t leave the startup screen now lives in the bin never by FOXWELL brand again Wally
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

How do I fix a Foxwell NT301 that is stuck on the startup screen?

    Answer

If your Foxwell NT301 is stuck on the startup screen, it may be experiencing a firmware freeze or a power delivery issue from the vehicle's OBDII port. Before discarding the unit, you can attempt to recover it using the following steps:

    • Perform a Firmware Update: Connecting the device to a PC can often bypass the startup hang. Download the "NT Wonder" update tool from the official Foxwell website. Connect the NT301 to your computer using a USB cable and attempt to run an update. This can refresh the operating system and resolve software hangs.
    • Check Power Supply: Ensure the vehicle's battery is fully charged. Low voltage from the OBDII port (Pin 16) can sometimes cause scanners to hang during the boot sequence.
    • Reboot the Device: Use the Power Switch (labeled 'M' in the manual) to attempt a hard reboot while the device is connected to a power source.
    • Contact Support: If the device remains unresponsive, you can reach out to Foxwell technical support at amazonsupport@foxwelltech.com for further assistance or warranty inquiries.
  3. Can I use my code reader on a 24volt truck

Nigel Ramnath asks Can I use my code reader on a 24volt truck
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

Can I use the Foxwell NT301 code reader on a 24-volt truck?

    Answer

No, the Foxwell NT301 is designed specifically for standard passenger vehicles and light trucks that use a 12-volt electrical system. It is not compatible with 24-volt systems commonly found in heavy-duty trucks or commercial machinery.

Attempting to use a 12V OBD2 scanner on a 24V system can potentially damage the device or the vehicle's diagnostic port. For 24V vehicles, you would typically need a heavy-duty scanner that supports J1939 or J1708 protocols.

  4. I have a FOXWELL NT 301 does it work for all cars?
Jag har en FOXWELL NT 301 fungerar den till alla bilar?

Berth asks <em>I have a FOXWELL NT 301 does it work for all cars?<e/em>
Jag har en FOXWELL NT 301 fungerar den till alla bilar?
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

Does the FOXWELL NT301 work for all cars?

    Answer

The FOXWELL NT301 is designed to work with most vehicles that are compliant with OBDII/EOBD standards. Generally, this includes:

    • USA: Most cars and light trucks sold since 1996.
    • European Union: Most petrol vehicles sold since 2001 and diesel vehicles since 2004.
    • Asia: Most vehicles sold since 2008.

It supports all 10 OBDII test modes and works with protocols such as CAN, J1850 PWM, J1850 VPW, ISO9141, and KWP2000. However, it is primarily a powertrain (engine) code reader; it may not support advanced diagnostics for non-OBDII systems like ABS, Airbags, or Transmission on all makes. For specific compatibility with your vehicle's year and model, you can verify if your car has a 16-pin OBDII port and an emissions label stating OBDII compliance.

  5. Can you reprogramme batteries with this scan tool

Adrian ford asks Can you reprogramme batteries with this scan tool
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

Can the Foxwell NT301 reprogram or register batteries?

    Answer

No, the Foxwell NT301 cannot reprogram or register new batteries. Based on the product manual and applicable functions, the NT301 is a dedicated OBDII/EOBD code reader designed for engine diagnostics.

    Its primary functions include:

    • Reading and clearing Check Engine Light (DTC) codes.
    • Viewing Live Data and Freeze Frame data.
    • Performing I/M Readiness tests for emissions.
    • O2 Sensor and On-board Monitor testing.

Battery registration (BMS reset) is a service function typically found on higher-end diagnostic tablets (such as the Foxwell NT644 or NT710 series) rather than entry-level code readers like the NT301.

  6. Esse escaner funciona na s10 2.2 97

Anonymous asks Esse escaner funciona na s10 2.2 97
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

    Does the Foxwell NT301 scanner work on a 1997 Chevrolet S10 2.2?

    Answer

The Foxwell NT301 is designed to work with vehicles that are OBDII/EOBD compliant. Generally, this includes most cars sold in the US from 1996 onwards.

However, compatibility for a 1997 Chevrolet S10 2.2 can be uncertain depending on the specific region where the vehicle was manufactured (for example, some models in the Brazilian market did not adopt the full OBDII standard until later years). To confirm if your vehicle is compatible, please check for the following:

    • OBDII Connector: Ensure your vehicle has the 16-pin diagnostic port (as shown in the manual's pinout diagram).
    • VECI Label: Look for the "Vehicle Emission Control Information" label under the hood; it should explicitly state "OBDII Compliant" or "OBDII Certified."

If your 1997 S10 uses the older ALDL (OBD1) system, the NT301 will not be compatible without a specific adapter, and even then, it may not communicate with the ECU as it is primarily an OBDII/EOBD tool.
