Frequently Asked Questions

Do you like this item?

We love it! The filters are full of gunk when I replace them. Carbon filters last us about 3 months and the hepa filter about a year. We love it so much we bought a larger one for the living room. This one is kept in our bedroom. Allergy and asthma symptoms are definitely reduced using this air purifier.

Has anyone else noted the machine cycle normally and then jump from blue to red and staying there for too long a period without “rebooting”?

This is an old question but I just noticed it when ordering a new purifier. I’m answering in case someone more recently has same question. We’ve had this air purifier in my daughter’s bedroom for a couple of years now. We quickly noticed the light changing to red but it always coincides with a change in her room.

Does this unit create ozone? Some said it did and I could find out more.

This is directly from there website:

Does it do a good job w cigarette smoke

Not sure. I don’t smoke or allow smoking in my house.

can you turn off the ionizer?

Yes. Just press & hold the ionizer button for a few seconds and it will shut off. We leave the ionizer off all the time.

Can this kill mold hiding behind walls?

Only the air passing through the filtration system will be affected.

how often do you have replaced both carbon and HEPA filters? thank you.

The carbon filter should be replaced every 3 months, and the HEPA filter needs to be replaced once per year.

what are the dimensions of the Fellowes 9320301 Aeramax 100 Air Purifier with The HEPA filter?

27.25Hx7.25Wx8.5D.

Hi we have had this for a week and there is no fan running but lights keep changing every now and then from blue to red no filter lights on?

check the manual, the lights refer to air quality, you are probably set to the factory default position

How often do you change the filter in the purifier

Carbon filter is every three months. A red light went on one night, indicating the carbon filter needed to be changed. I changed it the next day. I’m told the HEPA filter is changed once a year. It’s very handy having the light come in, indicating what is needed.

I need one especially for animal dander. can you help?

Stronger the better. It has a Hepa filtration and is probably as good as you can do.

How bright is the display? Is there a setting to reduce the brightness for the bedroom?

There is no way to reduce the brightness of the display, but it doesn’t disturb me when I am trying to sleep.

can it be used with 220-240v current?

The 93203 is designed to be used in a 120V setting and should not be used in a 220-240V environment.

How quiet is it?

The unit is quiet. You barely hear the fan noise only when it is set to Level 3. Overall, very happy with the unit.

I already have two of this. Yes, it’s sensitive to chemical smells, however I’d like to understand what kind of sensor does it have, how does it work?

The units use a VOC sensor to detect contaminants in the air. As increased levels of contaminants are detected, the unit increases its fan speed, cleans the air until the level of contaminant is decreased, and then returns to the lower speeds. We hope this helps, but should you have any additional questions, please call our Customer Care Center at 1.800.945.4545, M-F, 7am-7pm, CST.
