Before first use, fully charge the pencil sharpener. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the sharpener's charging port and to a 5V USB power source (adapter not included). A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours and supports up to 500 sharpenings.

5.2 Securing the Shavings Bin

Ensure the top lid and shavings bin are securely fastened and locked. You should feel a click when it is correctly locked. The sharpener will not operate if the lid is not properly secured, a safety feature to prevent blade exposure.

1. Select your desired sharpness: Use the switch at the bottom of the sharpener to choose between a 'Sharp' or 'Blunt' tip.
2. Insert the pencil: Gently insert a 7-8mm pencil into the top opening. The sharpener will automatically grip the pencil.
3. Automatic sharpening: The sharpener will begin sharpening automatically. Once the pencil reaches the selected sharpness, it will be automatically ejected.
4. Remove the pencil: Take out the perfectly sharpened pencil.

7.1 Emptying the Shavings Bin

The transparent shavings bin allows you to monitor the fill level. When full, twist the top lid counter-clockwise to unlock and remove it. Carefully empty the pencil shavings into a waste bin. Reattach the lid and twist clockwise until it clicks into place to lock.

7.2 Replacing the Blade

Over time, the blade may become dull. The AFMAT PSX7 features a replaceable helical blade. To replace the blade:

1. Unlock and remove the top lid and shavings bin.
2. Carefully remove the old blade assembly.
3. Insert a new blade assembly (ASIN: B0G4TKR5V2) into position.
4. Reattach the shavings bin and top lid, ensuring it is securely locked.

8.1 No Sharp Pencil Nib

• Check sharpness setting: Ensure the sharpness switch is set to 'Sharp' if a fine point is desired.
• Clean blade: Remove the blade and clean out any jammed pencil waste.
• Replace blade: If the blade is aging or dull, replace it with a new one (ASIN: B0G4TKR5V2).

8.2 Pencil Sharpener Not Working

• Secure lid: Ensure the shavings bin and top lid are securely fastened and locked. The sharpener has a safety mechanism that prevents operation if not properly assembled.
• Charge battery: The battery may be depleted. Charge the sharpener for at least 15-30 minutes before attempting to use it, or until fully charged.

8.3 Pencil Sharpener Stops Working

• Overheat protection: The device may have activated its overheat protection. Allow it to cool down for a period before resuming use.
• Battery level: Check the battery indicator. Recharge if the battery is low.

8.4 Pencil Sharpener Not Charging

• Check cable and adapter: Ensure the USB charging cable is properly connected and the power adapter is a 5V output.
• Try different port/adapter: Test with another compatible USB port or adapter to rule out a faulty power source.
