Preparation and Mixing

TotalProtect is a two-part system that requires proper mixing before application. The mix ratio is 3 parts Base (Part A) to 1 part Curing Agent (Part B).

1. Ensure Clean Surfaces: Before mixing, ensure all application surfaces are clean, degreased, and properly prepared according to standard marine coating practices.
2. اختلاط کامل: Mix Part A (Base) thoroughly before combining with Part B. The base is a very thick coating, similar to mayonnaise, and may require an electric drill-powered paint mixer for adequate homogenization.
3. Combine Parts: Combine Part A and Part B at the specified 3:1 ratio. Mix the combined components thoroughly for at least 2 minutes.
4. Induction Period: After mixing, allow an induction period of 15 minutes before thinning and application. This allows the chemical reaction to begin properly.

TotalProtect can be applied by brushing, rolling, or spraying. The product dries quickly and creates a flexible, durable epoxy barrier coat.

Once applied and cured, TotalProtect provides a durable barrier. While no specific ongoing maintenance is required for the primer itself, proper care of the topcoat applied over it will ensure the longevity of the entire system.

While the product is tough to sand, light sanding with appropriate grit (e.g., 80-grit followed by finer grits) can smooth the surface if necessary for aesthetic reasons or specific topcoat requirements.
• Roller Shedding: If roller covers shed fibers during application, switch to a higher quality roller with a 3/16" nap or a foam solvent-safe roller.
