USE FOR WHICH THE PROTECTOR IS INTENDED
The protective device described in this Information note is strictly limited to cycling/winter sports use. ALWAYS use it under / together with other Certified P.P.E. intended to protect other parts of the body and suitable sports garments.

HAZARDS AGAINST WHICH SOME PROTECTION IS GIVEN
This back protector for motorcycle riders offers protection only in the event of impacts against edges such as kerb stones. They may also reduce the incidence and severity of injuries.

HAZARDS AGAINST WHICH PROTECTION IS NOT GIVEN
This back protector cannot guarantee protection against traumas caused by bending, twisting, torsions or traumas caused by extreme movements, and cannot prevent crushing as the result of striking an object.

WARNINGS AND USE LIMITATIONS

• No protector can guarantee a total protection from all possible impacts!
• Vehicles riding is inherently dangerous activity!
• No back protector can prevent spinal injuries!
• Always follow the specific use instructions of this back protector.
• Do not use the protective device for other uses, improper handling may seriously reduce the protection provided.
• This device provides limited protection in a specific area of the back, as shown in the chapter entitled “Area of protection”.
• For the temperature of use, it is recommended that the protector is not exposed to extremely high or low temperatures. climatic variations such as a dramatic/sudden increase of the temperature can considerably reduce the protection offered by the device.

CHECK PRIOR USE

• Before using this protector, make sure it is in good condition. In case of visible damages like breaches, unstitching, etc. it shall be replaced.
• The protector works properly only when in good conditions and correctly positioned. The level of protection remains as long as the protectors keep their original characteristics. Therefore, it is important that no modifications or repairs are made: do not tamper with your protectors!
• If the fixing means consist of strips, straps, elastic bands or other, they must be verified in their efficiency and sealing. If their closure is velcro, they should be checked for wear and tightness.

PERFORMANCES

• Laboratory tests confirm that the protector satisfies the requirements of the EN 1621-2:2014 European Technical Standard. The protection level is based on the impact force transmission performance. Method: impact testing at 50 Joule at standard ambient conditions repeated after hydrolytic (“wet”) treatment.
• OPTIONAL tests (if claimed): at high temperature (+40°C) and/or at low temperature (-10°C), Special conditioning at -20°C upon request for winter sport activities.

CARE, MAINTENANCE, STORAGE

• Wash with washing machine at gentle 30°C.
• Do not use solvents or other chemicals to clean the protector.
• Do not leave exposed to direct sunlight.
• Do not leave it permanently exposed to high or low temperatures.
• Never tamper with the device in any of its parts.
• Do not bend or twist the device. as such actions constitute an improper use for which the article was not designed. this may cause, in fact, the loss of the protecting characteristics or breakage.
• When not in use, the protector must be stored in a dry and ventilated place.
• Avoid storing the device so that its own weight is concentrated in a few points of support.
• After use leave it dry in a ventilated place, at room temperature. do not use dryer or other heating means.

When in doubt about the efficiency of the protector, it should be returned to the store for professional inspection. If the protector is damaged or if there is any doubt about its condition it should be replaced immediately.

Complaints or replacement requests for which improper use has been established will not be accepted.

FIT & ERGONOMICS

In order to fully benefit from the protection offered by these back protectors you should ensure that the fit of the garment meets the following criteria

1. Be sure that the impact protectors are placed over the areas they are designed to protect.
2. No discomfort is caused by the garment when you are in your usual riding position and that you are easily able to reach controls: do not choose a protector that is too big, as this could interfere with the helmet creating dangerous driving conditions.

If the device is an integral part of the garment or is inserted in a special pocket, its correct positioning depends on a right GARMENT size choice, from those proposed by the manufacturer. It is important to wear the garment in your size and close all the locks. It ‘also important to tighten firmly all the adjustment systems, compatibly with the comfort, so that the protector remains firmly in place during use.

If the device is worn over the underwear or other clothing, it’s necessary that is adherent to the body. The correct positioning of the protection devices provided with independent means of support, will be ensured by a good coupling between its shape and the anatomical area shape to be protected. In all cases means are provided to maintain the device effectively in contact with the body. If the fixing means are constituted by belts, straps, elastic bands or other, these must be correctly fastened before use of the protector, so that the device is idle and does not create impediments. If their closure is in velcro, you should periodically check the wear of the same and keep it clean to promote efficiency.

To choose the correct protectors, see at following SIZE-CHART: when choosing a protector always refer to the distance between waist and shoulder as there is no constant relation with all body sizes (height and shape). The W-S length is the maximum vertical length, measured at the back, from the waistline to the point in which the shoulder joins the neck (point 1). To find the waistline, stand upright and pass a measuring tape around your waist 50 mm above the iliac crests (point 2). It needs to be scaled pro rata with the height of the actual subject (see following sample data).

DURATION AND DISPOSAL INSTRUCTIONS
At the end of the protector useful life be sure to not discard it in natural environment: Please follow your local / national environmental regulations and discard it in an appropriate dumping area. Further information regarding these regulations can be obtained from your local authorities.
