Key Safety Information
Before using the Tefal EASYGLISS ECO steam iron (2600W models), it is crucial to read and understand all safety instructions provided in the manual. This appliance is designed for domestic and indoor use only. Always unplug the iron before filling or emptying the water tank, before cleaning, and after each use. Ensure the iron is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Keep the iron and its cord out of reach of children under 8 years old, especially when the iron is hot or plugged in. Be aware that surfaces can become very hot and may cause burns.
Proper Usage and Maintenance
The Tefal EASYGLISS ECO steam iron is designed for use with untreated tap water. For very hard water areas, a 50/50 mix of tap water and demineralised water is recommended. Avoid using water with additives, condensation water, or pure demineralised/distilled water, as these can damage the appliance. Regular self-cleaning of the steam chamber is advised to prevent limescale buildup. Always ensure the iron is placed on its designated base and never on its heel when not in use.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Brown water dripping: Check water type and ensure no descaling products are used.
- Little or no steam: The iron may have limescale. Clean the anti-calc system and perform self-cleaning.
- Dirty soleplate: Clean the soleplate as instructed and ensure the temperature is not too high.
- Water leaking from soleplate: Ensure the iron has reached the correct temperature before using steam.
