Safety Precautions
This unit uses a flammable refrigerant (R32). Read operating instructions carefully before use. Service personnel must read both operating and installation manuals. This product contains rotating parts and parts that could cause electric shock; observe all safety precautions.
⚠ WARNING
- Do not connect the power cord to an intermediate point, use an extension cord, or connect multiple devices to a single AC outlet.
- Ensure the power plug is free of dirt and securely inserted.
- Do not bundle, pull, damage, or modify the power cord, or apply heat/place heavy objects on it.
- Do not turn the breaker OFF/ON or disconnect/connect the power plug during operation.
- Do not expose the body directly to cool air for prolonged periods.
- The unit should not be installed, relocated, disassembled, altered, or repaired by the user. Consult the dealer.
- When installing, relocating, or servicing, ensure only specified refrigerant (R32) enters the circuit.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised. Children should not play with the appliance.
- Do not insert fingers, sticks, or other objects into the air inlet or outlet.
- In case of abnormal conditions (e.g., burning smell), stop the air conditioner and disconnect power. Consult the dealer.
- If refrigerant leakage is found, stop operations, ventilate the room, and consult the dealer.
- Do not wash the inside of the indoor unit. Contact the dealer for cleaning.
- The appliance should be stored in a room without continuously operating ignition sources.
- Do not use means to accelerate defrosting or clean the appliance other than manufacturer recommendations.
- Do not pierce or burn.
- This appliance is intended for use by expert or trained users in shops, light industry, farms, or for commercial use by lay persons.

- Do not expose pets or houseplants to direct airflow.
- Do not place other electric appliances or furniture under the indoor/outdoor unit.

- Do not step on an unstable bench to operate or clean the unit.
- Do not pull the power cord.
- Do not charge or disassemble batteries, or throw them into fire.
- Do not operate the unit for more than 4 hours at high humidity (80% RH or more) and/or with windows or outside door left open.
- Do not use the unit for special purposes (e.g., storing food, raising animals, growing plants, preserving precision devices or art objects).
- Do not expose combustion appliances to direct airflow.
- Never put batteries in the mouth.
- Before cleaning, switch OFF and disconnect power.
- When unused for a long time, disconnect power.
- Replace all remote controller batteries with new ones of the same type.
- If battery fluid contacts skin/clothes, wash thoroughly. If it contacts eyes, seek medical attention immediately.
- Ensure the area is well-ventilated when operated with a combustion appliance.
- Turn the breaker OFF during thunder/lightning.
- After several seasons, perform inspection and maintenance.
- Do not operate switches with wet hands.
- Do not clean the air conditioner with water or place water-containing objects on it.
- Do not step on or place objects on the outdoor unit.
● IMPORTANT
Dirty filters cause condensation and mold growth. Clean air filters every 2 weeks. Ensure horizontal vanes are in the closed position before starting operation.

Preparation Before Operation
Installing Remote Controller Batteries
- Remove the front lid.
- Insert the negative pole of AAA alkaline batteries first.
- Install the front lid.
- Press RESET gently using a thin instrument.
Note: Ensure correct polarity. Do not use manganese or rechargeable batteries. Replace all batteries with new ones of the same type when the indicator lights up. Batteries last approximately 1 year.
Setting Current Time
- Press CLOCK.
- Set the time using TIME or TIMER buttons.
- Press DAY button to set the day.
- Press CLOCK again.
Note: Press CLOCK gently using a thin instrument.
Setting Remote Controller Exclusively for a Particular Indoor Unit
Up to 4 indoor units with wireless remote controllers can be used in a room. To operate units individually, assign a number to each remote controller. This setting is possible when the remote controller is OFF.
- Hold down the 1~4 button for 2 seconds to enter pairing mode.
- Press the 1~4 button again to assign a number (1→2→3→4).
- Press EDIT/SEND SET button to complete pairing.
After turning the breaker ON, the remote controller that first sends a signal to an indoor unit will be regarded as its controller. The indoor unit will then only receive signals from its assigned controller.
Selecting Operation Modes
DRY Mode
Dehumidifies the room; may cool slightly. Temperature cannot be set.
HEAT Mode
Provides warm air at desired temperature.
FAN Mode
Circulates air in the room. Recommended after COOL/DRY mode to dry the indoor unit.
AUTO Mode (Auto Change Over)
The unit selects the operation mode (COOL/HEAT) based on the difference between room and set temperatures. Mode changes if room temperature is about 2°C away from set temperature for more than 15 minutes.
COOL Mode
Provides cool air at desired temperature. Do not operate below -10°C outside temperature to prevent water condensation and damage.
Multi System Operation
Two or more indoor units can be operated by one outdoor unit. Simultaneous cooling/fan and heating operations are not possible. The unit selected last goes into standby mode if conflicting operations are chosen.
Operation Indicator Lamp
The lamp indicates the unit's operation state:
- Lit: Operating to reach set temperature (room temp. ≥ 2°C from set temp.)
- Blinking: Room temperature approaching set temperature (room temp. 1-2°C from set temp.)
- Not Lit: Standby mode (only during multi system operation)
Steps to Select Operation Mode:
- Press OFF/ON to start operation.
- Press MODE to select desired mode (AUTO → COOL → DRY → HEAT → FAN).
- Press ▲ or ▼ to set temperature (1°C increments).
- Press OFF/ON to stop operation.
Fan Speed and Airflow Direction Adjustment
Fan Speed
Press FAN to select fan speed (AUTO → Quiet → Low → Med. → High → Super High). Higher speeds cool/heat quicker; lower speeds for quiet operation.
Up-down Airflow Direction
Press VANE to select airflow direction (AUTO → 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → 5 → SWING). AUTO sets to most efficient direction. Manual selection allows upper position for COOL/DRY and lower for HEAT. SWING moves vanes up and down intermittently.
Left-right Airflow Direction
Move the vertical vane manually before starting operation. Ensure horizontal vanes return to original closed position if adjusted.
i-SAVE and ECONO COOL Operation
i-SAVE Operation
Recalls preferred (preset) settings with a single push of the i-save button. Two settings can be saved (one for COOL/ECONO COOL, one for HEAT). Minimum temperature in HEAT mode can be 10°C during i-save operation.
- Press i-save during COOL, ECONO COOL, or HEAT mode.
- Set temperature, fan speed, and airflow direction.
- Press i-save again to cancel.
ECONO COOL Operation
Swing airflow makes the user feel cooler than stationary airflow, saving energy. Set temperature and airflow direction are automatically changed by the microprocessor.
- Press ECONO COOL during COOL mode to start.
- Press ECONO COOL again to cancel.
Timer Operation
ON/OFF Timer
- Press ON or OFF during operation to set the timer. ON timer turns ON at set time; OFF timer turns OFF at set time.
- Press ▲ (forward) and ▼ (backward) to set the time (10-minute increments).
- Press ON or OFF again to cancel.
ON and OFF timers can be set together. If power failure occurs, timer setting is cancelled.
Weekly Timer Operation
Set up to 4 ON/OFF timers for individual days, or 28 timers per week. Example: Runs at 24°C from waking to leaving home, and 27°C from getting home to going to bed on weekdays. Runs at 27°C from waking late to going to bed early on weekends.
- Press EDIT/SEND SET to enter weekly timer setting mode.
- Press DAY and 1~4 to select setting day and number.
- Press ON/OFF, TIME, and TEMP to set ON/OFF, time, and temperature.
- Press DAY and 1~4 to continue setting for other days/numbers.
- Press EDIT/SEND SET to complete and transmit settings to indoor unit.
- Press WEEKLY TIMER ON/OFF to turn weekly timer ON/OFF.
Checking Weekly Timer Setting: Press EDIT/SEND SET to enter mode, then DAY or 1~4 to view settings.
Emergency Operation & Auto Restart Function
Emergency Operation (When Remote Controller Cannot Be Used)
Press the emergency operation switch (E.O. SW) on the indoor unit to cycle through Emergency COOL (24°C, Medium fan, Auto horizontal vane), Emergency HEAT, and Stop. The first 30 minutes are a test run.
Auto Restart Function
If a power failure occurs or main power is turned off during operation, the unit automatically restarts in the same mode as before power loss. Timer settings are cancelled. Consult a service representative to change this function.
Cleaning
Before cleaning, switch off power or turn off the breaker. Do not touch metal parts. Use only diluted mild detergents; avoid benzine, thinner, polishing powder, insecticides, scrubbing brushes, or hard sponges. Do not soak/rinse horizontal vane, use water hotter than 50°C, or expose parts to direct sunlight/heat/fire. Do not apply excessive force on the fan.
Air Filter (Nano Platinum Filter)
Clean every 2 weeks. Remove dirt with a vacuum cleaner or rinse with water, then dry in shade. Nano platinum filters contain platinum nanoparticles for semi-permanent antibacterial and deodorizing properties, improving air quality and eliminating bacteria/viruses.
Air Cleaning Filter (Electrostatic Anti-Allergy Enzyme Filter, Option)
Clean every 3 months with a vacuum cleaner. If dirt persists, soak in lukewarm water before rinsing and drying in shade. Replace annually for best performance (Part Number MAC-2320FT).
Front Panel
- Lift the front panel until a "click" is heard.
- Close the front panel securely by pressing indicated positions.
- Clean the front panel without detaching it from the unit using a soft dry cloth.
Important: The indoor unit surface scratches easily. Handle with care. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Wipe fingerprints gently with a soft dry cloth. Do not leave the front panel open for prolonged periods.
Wi-Fi Interface Setting Up (VGK Type Only)
The Wi-Fi interface communicates status information and controls commands from the server by connecting to the indoor unit.
Wi-Fi Interface Introduction
The interface has MODE and RESET buttons, and ERR, NET, MODE, UNIT LEDs indicating network and unit status.
Information for Users
- Ensure the Wi-Fi interface is connected correctly; UNIT LED should be flashing green.
- Download and install the "Mitsubishi Wi-Fi Control" app on a compatible smartphone/tablet.
Two Options for Connecting
Option 1 - Access Point Mode Pairing
- Activate Access Point Mode on the Wi-Fi interface by pressing and holding the MODE Button for 7 seconds.
- When Access Point Mode is enabled, MODE LED flashes orange (every 5 seconds). Complete setup in the app within 10 minutes.
- Scan the matrix barcode from the label on the back of the interface to connect to its network. If unable to connect, check the SSID and KEY on the label and connect via Wi-Fi settings.
- Open the Wi-Fi Control App and follow "How to Setup" instructions.
Option 2 - WPS-Push Pairing
- Check Wi-Fi and WPS are enabled on the Router.
- Activate WPS Mode on the Router (approx. 2 minutes).
- Activate WPS on the Wi-Fi interface by pressing and holding the MODE Button for 2 seconds.
- When WPS-Push is enabled, MODE LED flashes orange (every second).
- When pairing is complete, NET LED lights solid green for 5 seconds.
Note: If ERR LED lights up orange for 5 seconds, there may be a problem; restart the process.
LED Pattern
A table details LED indications for Software initialising, Wireless setting, Connection to server in progress, and Normal operation, showing states like ON, OFF, Flashing, and specific flash patterns for errors or communication status.
Troubleshooting
If issues persist after checking these items, stop using the air conditioner and consult the dealer.
A table provides common symptoms (e.g., unit not operating, horizontal vane not moving, strange smell, cracking sound) and their explanations/check points (e.g., breaker off, dirty filters, open window, refrigerant flow).
Wi-Fi Interface Troubleshooting Notes: Ensure Router supports WPA2-PSK(AES) encryption. The end user must read and accept Wi-Fi service terms and conditions. The Router may be required for connection. Operational data transmission begins only after user registration. This interface should not be used for critical cooling/heating applications. Reset to factory default upon relocation or disposal.
Mitsubishi Electric's Wi-Fi interface is designed for communication with Mitsubishi Electric's Wi-Fi service. Third-party interfaces are not compatible. Mitsubishi Electric is not responsible for underperformance, faults, or damage caused by third-party interfaces.

When the Air Conditioner is Not Going to Be Used for a Long Time
- Operate in COOL mode with the highest temperature or FAN mode for 3 to 4 hours to dry the unit's inside and prevent mold growth.
- Press OFF/ON to stop operation.
- Turn off the breaker and/or disconnect the power supply plug.
- Remove all batteries from the remote controller.
When Using the Air Conditioner Again
- Clean the air filter.
- Check that the air inlet and outlet of indoor and outdoor units are not blocked.
- Check that the earth is connected correctly.
- Refer to "Preparation Before Operation" and follow instructions.
Installation Place and Electrical Work
Installation Place
Avoid installing the air conditioner in places with much machine oil, salty areas, sulfide gas, oil splash/smoke, high-frequency/wireless equipment, blocked outdoor unit airflow, or where operation sound/air bothers neighbors. Recommended indoor unit mounting height is 1.8 m to 2.3 m. Do not operate during interior construction or floor waxing; ventilate well afterwards. Indoor unit must be installed in rooms exceeding specified floor space. Do not use Wi-Fi interface near medical equipment or people with medical devices. Maintain a minimum distance of 20 cm between the device and user/bystanders. Do not use Wi-Fi interface near other wireless devices, microwaves, cordless phones, or facsimiles.
To prevent effects from fluorescent lamps, keep at least 1m apart. Outdoor unit should be at least 3m from TV/radio antennas. Install outdoor unit in a well-ventilated dry place.
Electrical Work
Provide an exclusive circuit for the air conditioner. Observe breaker capacity. Consult the dealer for questions.
