Assembly & Setup
Before first use, ensure all components are present and properly assembled. Refer to the diagram below for accessory identification and placement.
- Attach Casters: Securely insert the four casters into the base of the vacuum for mobility.
- Install Filter: For dry pickup, ensure the cartridge filter is properly installed over the float cage. For wet pickup, remove the cartridge filter and install the foam sleeve.
- Connect Hose: Insert the hose into the inlet port on the front of the tank. Ensure a snug fit for optimal suction.
- Attach Accessories: Connect the desired accessory (e.g., extension wands, floor nozzle) to the end of the hose. The unit features integrated accessory storage for convenience.
Operating Instructions
Dry Pickup:
Ensure the cartridge filter is clean and properly installed. Plug the vacuum into a suitable power outlet (120 volts, 160 watts). Turn the power switch to the 'ON' position. Guide the nozzle over the dry debris to be vacuumed.
Wet Pickup:
Remove the cartridge filter and install the foam sleeve. Ensure the tank is empty before beginning wet pickup. Turn the power switch to 'ON'. Guide the nozzle over the liquid to be vacuumed. The vacuum will automatically shut off when the tank is full.
Blower Function:
To use the blower function, disconnect the hose from the inlet port and connect it to the rear blower port. Turn the power switch to 'ON'. Direct the airflow to clear debris from desired areas.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your Shop-Vac. Always unplug the vacuum before performing any maintenance.
Filter Maintenance:
The vacuum uses a cartridge filter for dry pickup and a foam sleeve for wet pickup. Inspect filters regularly for wear and tear.
- Cartridge Filter: For dry debris, clean by gently tapping against a hard surface or using a soft brush. Replace if damaged or excessively dirty.
- Foam Sleeve: For wet pickup, rinse with water and allow to air dry completely before reinstallation.
- Filter Bag: An optional filter bag can be used for fine dry debris to aid in disposal and keep the tank cleaner. Replace when full.
Tank Cleaning:
After each use, especially wet pickup, empty the tank and rinse it with water. Allow the tank to air dry completely before storing to prevent mold and mildew.
