1. Important Safeguards
- Never allow children to operate, clean, or maintain the appliance alone, or use it as a toy. Keep the appliance and its power cord out of reach of children.
- Never leave the appliance unattended while in operation. Do not operate it without the inner pot or food inside.
- To avoid burns, do not place your face or hands near the lid or steam outlet during or immediately after use. Never touch the heating plate and inner pot, as they retain residual heat.
- Never immerse the main body, power cord, or plug in water or expose them to splashes. This can cause electric shock or fire.
- For safety, use the appliance only as described in this manual. Do not use it outdoors or for any other purpose. Misuse can cause injury.
- Before use, ensure both ends of the power cord are securely plugged into the appliance and the power outlet.
- Only use a 220V AC power supply.
- Use a dedicated power outlet rated at 10 Amperes or higher. Sharing an outlet with other appliances may cause overheating and fire.
- Do not use the appliance if the power cord or plug shows signs of overheating, leakage, disconnection, or looseness, as this could lead to electric shock or fire.
- Do not allow children or infants to touch this product. Doing so may cause electric shock, burns, or injury.
- Do not touch, insert, or remove the plug with wet hands, as this can cause electric shock.
- This appliance is intended for household or similar environments, such as staff kitchens in shops, offices, and other work environments; farmhouses; hotels, motels, and other residential environments; and bed and breakfast establishments.
- Do not use a damaged or loose power outlet. Ensure the plug is completely dry before use.
- Do not modify or attempt to repair the rice cooker yourself, or use unauthorized parts. Doing so can cause hazards and invalidate the warranty.
- This rice cooker may be used by children aged 8 years and above, and by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, provided they are supervised or have received instruction on safe use and understand the associated hazards.
- When in use, do not cover the appliance surface or steam vent with any objects to prevent malfunction, deformation, or discoloration.
- Regularly inspect the rice cooker, inner pot, power cord, and plug. If any part is damaged, stop using the appliance immediately and contact Shun Hing Electric Service Centre Limited for inspection and repair.
- Do not use any other container to replace the original inner pot.
- Before use, ensure the outer surface of the inner pot and the heating plate are clean and dry. Otherwise, it may cause malfunction.
- Do not operate with a tangled power cord or by hanging the power cord over the edge of a table or counter-top, or letting it touch hot surfaces, as this may damage the power cord.
- Do not open the lid, move, or shake the appliance while it is in use, as this can be dangerous.
- Do not wash rice directly in the inner pot to avoid scratching the coating and affecting cooking results.
- Do not cook acidic or alkaline foods in the inner pot, as this may damage the inner pot coating.
- When plugging in or unplugging, grasp the plug itself, not the power cord.
- Do not operate the appliance in the following locations:
- Humid environments or near water.
- Near heat sources like electric ovens, induction cookers, and fire.
- On unstable surfaces.
- Near flammable or heat-resistant objects (e.g., tablecloths, curtains, towels).
- Do not place heavy objects on the power cord. Never clip, modify, stretch, or twist the power cord.
- Do not touch the inner pot directly while the appliance is cooking or immediately after use to prevent burns.
- Use the correct amount of rice and water and select the appropriate functions according to the operating instructions. This prevents overflow, undercooked/overcooked rice, scorching, or burning, which can shorten the service life of the inner pot.
- Insert the power plug firmly to ensure a secure connection.
- Keep the power plug and socket dry. Do not touch the appliance, plug, or unplug the power plug with wet hands.
- If the [Start/Cancel] button is pressed during operation, the appliance will return to standby mode. The function will restart. Repeated heating may cause food to burn or exhibit other abnormal phenomena. Avoid such operations.
- Do not cook with hot water, as it will affect thermostat operation and rice texture.
- When using the product for the first time, a slight smell or flashing display may occur. Unplug and replug the product. These are normal occurrences.
- The inner pot and glass lid are made of fragile materials. Handle with care to prevent damage from impact with hard objects or falls from heights.
- Ensure the outer surface of the inner pot and heating plate are clean and dry before use, otherwise, it may cause malfunction.
- Ensure the lid is closed tightly to prevent affecting rice texture and causing malfunctions or accidents.
- Before removing the inner pot, be sure to unplug the power cord.
- Do not pour water onto the heating plate. Before use, check the outside of the inner pot (especially the bottom) and the inside of the rice cooker (especially the heating plate) to ensure there are no water beads or debris, and that the inner pot makes good contact with the heating plate.
2. Cleaning and Storage
- Before cleaning, unplug the appliance and let it cool down completely.
- When cleaning the inner pot and lid, use soft materials like a sponge and mild detergent. Rinse with water and dry thoroughly. Place them back in their positions after cleaning.
- If food residue sticks to the inner pot, soak it in water for a while before cleaning.
- Never use poisonous or corrosive detergents or harsh cleaning tools (e.g., metal wire brushes).
- If dirt is on the heating plate, main body, or lid, wipe with a damp cloth and then dry.
- To avoid damaging the inner pot coating, use the original rice scoop for serving rice. Never use metal utensils or cut food inside the inner pot.
- The inner pot's color may change over time, but this does not affect food hygiene or the pot's function.
- When storing, place the appliance in its box and store it in a dry place.
- When storing, never wrap the power cord around the appliance or clip it to prevent damage.
- Clean the product promptly after use to prevent dirt from adhering tightly to surfaces and becoming difficult to remove.
- Do not rinse or immerse the main unit in any liquid. Clean it with a soft, damp cloth.
- The inner pot should be cleaned with a soft cloth or towel. Do not use hard steel wire for cleaning.
- If the product is not used for an extended period, clean and dry it before placing it in the packaging box. Store in a ventilated, dry place to prevent moisture and ensure proper function.
