Introduction

Overview

The PLUS+1® License Manager is part of the PLUS+1® Base installation, included with the PLUS+1® GUIDE, PLUS+1® Service Tool, and PLUS+1® Update Center installations. It is used to add, select, and lock/unlock PLUS+1® licenses to a particular PC.

Obtaining a PLUS+1® license

Existing users

For existing PLUS+1® license holders with PLUS+1® version 5.0 or later: All locally stored licenses remain available. To use the License Manager and synchronize local licenses with cloud licenses, logging in with a free Danfoss account is required. (A Danfoss account is automatically created if you previously used the Update Center.)

New users

Use the "Sign up" tab on the login page to create a free Danfoss account. With a Danfoss account, you can use the License Manager to request new licenses and synchronize your local licenses with cloud-stored licenses. The Basic Development license is available for free to all users.

Professional developers benefit from the Professional version, which enables additional tools and libraries to speed up software development. Add-on modules are available via annual subscription, allowing customization of the tool chain. A built-in "Free Service" license is also available for use with the Service Tool only.

Professional license

A Professional License is generated by clicking the "License Generator" link in the lower-left corner of the tool and submitting a license request. The order fulfillment team will process the order, and the license can be synchronized by starting the License Manager tool again.

Basic Development license

A free Basic Development license can be requested through an automated sequence in the License Manager. After logging in, click "Get Basic Development License". It will be added to your licenses list. If you already had one, it may be updated. This license provides basic functionality for developing PLUS+1® GUIDE and PLUS+1® Service Tool applications.

Add-On licenses

Ordering additional Add-On licenses follows the same procedure as for the professional license.

Launching the License Manager

Overview

The PLUS+1® License Manager can be started from the "Tools" menu in PLUS+1® GUIDE, PLUS+1® Service Tool, and PLUS+1® Update Center. It can also be started directly from the Windows start menu by typing "PLUS+1 License Manager". After starting, you will be prompted to log in to your Danfoss account or sign up if you don't have one. Automatic login may occur if you have recently logged in.

License synchronization

Licenses synchronize automatically at tool startup and during certain operations. A message dialog may appear after synchronization if changes were made.

Note on license display: Main licenses in italic style are local-only and not associated with the logged-in account. New local-only licenses can be added by right-clicking and selecting "Add license key". Main licenses in bold style are for testing purposes only. The "Free Service" license is always the last main license item and is for the Service Tool only.

Removing licenses

Local-only licenses can be removed by right-clicking and selecting "Delete". Deleting a synchronized license is possible, but it will be automatically added again on the next synchronization.

License Management

License Lock/Unlock

A PLUS+1® License can be used on up to 3 PCs simultaneously. This is done by "locking" the license to a PC via its unique hardware ID (HW ID). Click the "Lock" button in the "HW Lock" column to assign the license to the current PC.

To use a license on a fourth PC, it must first be unlocked from at least one of the previous three PCs. If access to previous Locked PCs is lost, contact the PLUS+1® Helpdesk for assistance. Licenses that are local-only cannot be locked or unlocked this way.

License Renewal

An expiring PLUS+1® License can be renewed by clicking the "Renewal" link in the Actions column. Local-only licenses cannot be renewed this way.

Basic Development license

Request Basic Development license

To enable all basic functionalities for developing PLUS+1® GUIDE and PLUS+1® Service Tool applications, request a Basic Development license.

Steps:

• Click on "Get Basic Development License".
• If you do not already have the Basic Development License, it will be added to your list of main licenses. Otherwise, your existing Basic Development License may be updated.
