Preparing Your Lawn
Before beginning the installation, carefully review this guide. Planning the layout of your garden, including obstacles and the placement of the charging base and boundary wires, is crucial for a smooth setup.
Understanding Your Lawn's Layout
Landxcape is designed to navigate your lawn efficiently. It's important to identify and prepare areas for the mower, considering obstacles such as:
- Obstacles: Rigid objects over 10 cm high will be detected and avoided. Specific models may feature ultrasonic sensors for avoiding obstacles over 19 cm.
- Stones: While Landxcape can handle small stones, large ones or those with inclined surfaces should be managed or excluded from the mowing area.
- Driveways: If flush with the lawn, Landxcape can cross them. For avoidance, maintain a 10 cm distance with the boundary wire. Gravel driveways require a 26 cm clearance.
- Flowerbeds, Ponds, Pools: These areas must be excluded using the boundary wire. Objects between 2 cm and 10 cm high also require exclusion.
- Slopes: Landxcape can manage slopes up to 35% (20°). Steeper slopes should be avoided or smoothed.
Boundary Wire Placement
The boundary wire creates an invisible fence defining the mowing area and guiding the mower to its charging base. Ensure proper spacing from obstacles, fences, and neighboring boundary wires (at least 1 meter separation if a neighbor also uses Landxcape).
Specific placement guidelines apply to slopes to prevent the mower from slipping or crossing the wire.
Installation Steps
- Place the Charging Base: Select a flat, dry, shaded area away from direct sunlight. Ensure at least 150 cm of clear, straight space on each side of the base for docking. Secure the base using the provided fixing nails.
- Charge the Mower: Connect the charging base to the power adapter and outlet. Manually dock the Landxcape mower (powered off) into the base. The charging indicator light will confirm charging is in progress.
- Peg the Boundary Wire: Cut the grass along the boundary. Lay the boundary wire close to the ground, securing it with pegs. Leave approximately 80 cm of wire near the base for connection. The total boundary wire length should not exceed 400 meters.
- Complete Boundary Wire Setup: Route the wire around the entire working area. Connect the wire ends to the designated terminals (IN to BLACK, OUT to RED) on the charging base after stripping the ends.
Verification and Operation
Before the first mow, ensure the working area is clear of debris. Set the cutting height to maximum and place the mower in front of the charging base. Power on the mower and input the default PIN (0000). Use the controls to send the mower to the charging base to test the boundary wire navigation.
If the verification is successful, you can start mowing. For any issues, consult the Owner's Manual.
LED Indicator Status
LED Status | Status Description | Action Required |
---|---|---|
Light does not turn on | No power | Check all power connections. |
Green light on | Boundary wire connected; mower fully charged | N/A |
Red light on | Boundary wire not connected or broken | Verify wire connections and check for breaks. |
Green light flashing | Mower is charging | N/A |
Important Notes
- If the mower is outside its territory, it will display an error. Move it back into the territory.
- The mower should remain switched on. If turned off, ensure it's within its boundary area before restarting.
- Refer to the Owner's Manual for detailed settings, app usage, and troubleshooting.
