INTRODUCTION
All users can update the firmware by using the EG4® Mobile App. Be sure to have plenty of battery life on the mobile device and do not close the mobile app. Verify the Wi-Fi dongle is securely connected and properly configured for the inverter before proceeding through this guide.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTION
Step 1: Open the EG4® Electronics App on the mobile device and select the “DOWNLOAD FIRMWARE” button.
Step 2: Select the device type that the firmware update will be installed to.
NOTE:
The 18kPV firmware is also compatible for the 12kPV, FlexBOSS18, and FlexBOSS21 inverters.
Step 3: Select the applicable firmware files and select “DOWNLOAD” on the right side to download the file(s) to the mobile device.
Step 4: Keep the app running and go to the phone’s Wi-Fi settings. Connect the mobile device to the dongle’s network. The dongle’s network ID will be the same as the dongle’s serial number.
Step 5: Once connected to the dongle network in step 4, go back to the app and select “CONNECT DEVICE AND UPDATE”.
Step 6: If not connected to the dongle directly, a window will appear to choose “Local Connect Type”, before updating the firmware.
Step 7: Select “Update firmware” at the bottom of the page to start. Do not move the mobile device away from the system while the update is in progress! This will cause the update to stop or possibly fail.
NOTE:
The “Normal” status light will blink while the firmware update is in progress.
Step 8: The update progress can be seen from the same page as step 7. If there are multiple firmware updates, each one will update before the full update is finished.
NOTE:
The inverter will restart after each update has finished.
Step 9: Once all the updates are complete, a notification will appear confirming that the firmware has been successfully updated. Press “OK” to confirm the update and the inverter will restart.
