Introduction

• The IZAR RADIO Extend is a Smart Metering amplifier from the DIEHL Metering Group, and is based on Open Metering System Specifications (OMS-S).
• The module is designed to allow access to meters in difficult installation situations from an economic and technical perspective.
• The lifecycle of the module under normal operating conditions is at least 8 years.
• The module can be operated with meters for all media, provided the meters use Wireless M-Bus (T1 mode) for communication. The frequency of data updates can be adjusted and is typically set as hourly or daily.

Instructions

• In the event of equipment error, discontinue use and contact the responsible customer support immediately.
• An equipment error applies when, for example, the housing and/ or the wall bracket is damaged or when the housing contains liquid.
• Always observe the relevant regulations against electrostatic discharge (ESD).
• Do not open the housing.
• Battery life depends on the ambient temperature. The typical battery life applies to Central European ambient temperatures.

Installation

• The minimum installation distance between the IZAR RADIO Extend and metal objects is 1m.
• The module must not be exposed to direct sunlight.
• The wall bracket must be evenly mounted on a straight and flat wall.

1. Use the two screws (and dowels) to properly attach the wall bracket to a wall.

   
   To ensure a secure fit, the module must be inserted into the bracket from above.

2. Push the module into the fixture plate from above until it engages the locking pin.

   

Programming

• The IZAR RADIO Extend is programmed via the optical IrDA interface using the IZAR@SET software (Version 1.4.1 or higher). Please observe the IZAR@SET operating instructions.
• For correct programming, place the OptoHead onto the optical interface of the module (the OptoHead is self-adhesive).

  
  For programming, please use the Bluetooth OptoHead IZAR OH BT.

Maintenance

• IZAR RADIO Extend does not require any special maintenance.
• Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaning agents, as these may damage the plastic housing.
• If required, use a cloth or a moist sponge for cleaning.

Storage:

• The module can be stored in a dry place at temperatures between -10 °C and +50 °C.
• The maximum storage period is one year.

Transport and storage

When sending wireless measuring instruments/components by air, deactivate the wireless before shipping.

Recycling

The transposed European Directives on waste batteries and waste electrical and electronic equipment supervise the actions necessary to limit the negative impact of the product end of life. This product is subject to special collection and disposal. It should be deposited at an appropriate facility to enable recovery and recycling. For further details about recycling this product, please contact your Diehl Metering agency.
