Introduction

Congratulations on your purchase of this Audizio product. Please read this manual thoroughly prior to using the unit to benefit fully from all features.

Read the manual prior to using the unit. Follow the instructions to avoid invalidating the warranty. Take all precautions to avoid fire and/or electrical shock. Repairs must only be carried out by a qualified technician to avoid electrical shock. Keep the manual for future reference.

Safety and Precautions

General Safety Guidelines:

  • Consult a specialist before first use. A slight smell may occur upon first use, which is normal and will disappear.
  • The unit contains voltage-carrying parts; do NOT open the housing.
  • Do not place metal objects or pour liquids into the unit, as this may cause electrical shock and malfunction.
  • Do not place the unit near heat sources (radiators) or on vibrating surfaces. Do not cover ventilation holes.
  • The unit is not suitable for continuous use.
  • Be careful with the mains lead; do not damage it. A faulty or damaged lead can cause electrical shock and malfunction.
  • When unplugging, always pull the plug, never the lead.
  • Do not plug or unplug with wet hands.
  • If the plug or mains lead is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified technician.
  • If the unit is damaged and internal parts are visible, do NOT plug it in or switch it on. Contact your dealer.
  • Do NOT connect the unit to a rheostat or dimmer.
  • To avoid fire or shock hazard, do not expose the unit to rain or moisture.
  • All repairs should be carried out by a qualified technician only.
  • Connect to an earthed mains outlet (220-240Vac/50Hz) protected by a 10-16A fuse.
  • Unplug the unit during thunderstorms or when not in use for extended periods.
  • If the unit has been unused for a long time, condensation may occur. Allow it to reach room temperature before switching on. Never use in humid rooms or outdoors.
  • Follow applicable guidelines and instructions to prevent accidents in companies.
  • Do not repeatedly switch the unit on and off, as this shortens its lifespan.
  • Keep out of reach of children. Do not leave unattended.
  • Do not use cleaning sprays on switches; residues can cause dust and grease buildup. Seek professional advice for malfunctions.
  • Do not force controls.
  • Keep at least 60cm away from computers or TVs due to potential magnetic fields.
  • If the product has a built-in lead-acid rechargeable battery, recharge it every 3 months if not in use to prevent permanent damage.
  • If the battery is damaged, replace it with one of the same specifications and dispose of it environmentally.
  • If the unit has fallen, have it checked by a qualified technician before switching it on again.
  • Do not use chemicals to clean the unit; use a dry cloth only.
  • Keep away from electronic equipment that may cause interference.
  • Use only original spare parts for repairs to avoid serious damage or dangerous radiation.
  • Switch off the unit before unplugging. Unplug all leads and cables before moving.
  • Ensure the mains lead cannot be damaged by foot traffic. Check the lead for damage before each use.
  • Verify mains voltage (220-240Vac/50Hz) matches your outlet.
  • Keep original packaging for safe transport.

The unit is CE certified. Unauthorized modifications will invalidate the CE certificate and guarantee.

NOTE: For normal operation, use the unit in rooms with temperatures between 5°C/41°F and 35°C/95°F.

Dispose of electric products responsibly at a recycling center. Contact local authorities or your dealer for disposal information.

Do not attempt self-repair or modification; this voids the warranty. Audizio is not responsible for personal injury or damages resulting from improper use or failure to follow safety recommendations.

Unpacking Instruction

CAUTION! Immediately upon receiving the product, carefully unpack the carton. Check contents to ensure all parts are present and in good condition. Notify the shipper immediately and retain packing material for inspection if any parts appear damaged or the package shows signs of mishandling. Save the package and all packing materials. If the product must be returned, it is important to return it in the original factory box and packing.

If the device has been exposed to drastic temperature fluctuations (e.g., after transportation), do not switch it on immediately. Condensation may damage your device. Leave the device switched off until it reaches room temperature.

Power Supply

The label on the back of the product indicates the type of power supply to be connected. Check that the mains voltage corresponds to this. Other voltages may cause irreparable damage. The product must be connected directly to the mains and cannot be used with a dimmer or adjustable power supply.

! Always connect the device to a protected circuit (circuit breaker or fuse). Ensure the device has appropriate electrical grounding to avoid the risk of electrocution or fire.

Controls

Refer to the diagram for button identification:

Front Panel:

  • 1. Power / Volume control: Rotate clockwise to power on/increase volume. Rotate anti-clockwise to power off/decrease volume.
  • 2. Standby on/off: Press to turn the unit on or off standby.
  • 3. Mode: Toggle between DAB and FM.
  • 4. Scan: DAB - Press for a full scan. FM - Press for a full scan.
  • 5. (Preset): Press and hold to enter the preset store list. Press briefly to recall the preset list.
  • 6. Info/Menu: Press and hold to enter the main menu. Press briefly to cycle through broadcast information.
  • 7. Sleep: Press to enter sleep timer selection.
  • 8. Preset button 1/2/3: Dedicated buttons for preset channels 1-3. Press and hold to preset, press briefly to recall.
  • 9. Speaker
  • 10. 2.4" color TFT screen
  • 11. Tune / Select: Press to confirm. Rotate knob to browse lists or adjust frequencies. In FM mode, push to scan for the next station.

Rear/Side Panel:

  • 12. Telescopic Antenna
  • 13. Battery charging indicator
  • 14. DC IN 5V: Micro USB charging port / connect with DC power adapter (micro USB connection).
  • 15. Line out
  • 16. Earphone jack

Getting Started

The radio is powered by the built-in lithium battery. A USB cable is supplied for charging.

Power On: Turn the knob clockwise. The radio powers on and enters standby. Press the button to activate.

Standby/Power Off: Press the button to return to standby. To power off completely, turn the knob anti-clockwise until it clicks and the screen turns off.

Charging Battery

Check the battery indicator on the top right of the screen for status. A low battery is indicated by a blank indicator and a "Battery low" message.

To charge, connect the micro USB plug to the rear port and the other end to a 5V OUT power source. The LED will light red while charging and turn green when complete.

Note: Charging may take longer if the radio is playing or in standby.

BT Playback

For transmission, your BT device and the radio must be paired. The radio acts as a receiver for music streaming.

If previously paired, the connection will restore automatically when both devices are in range and BT mode is selected. Pairing does not need to be repeated, but may need activation on your BT device.

  • Press the Menu button to display the mode selection menu.
  • Use the up/down buttons to select BT mode and push the dial switch.
  • Turn on your BT device and activate pairing mode. The device will scan for BT devices.
  • When found, your BT device will show "Audizio Milan".
  • Select the radio on your BT device.
  • Start playback on your BT device. Playback will now use the radio.

DAB Mode

The radio starts in DAB mode on first use. If not, press the button to switch to DAB. The radio will scan for available stations.

Scan process: Scanning... Stations: 0 [Progress bar visualization].

After scanning, the station list appears. Use the knob to select a station. Rotate the knob to change stations while playing.

Press repeatedly to cycle through radio information.

Note: Adjust the length and direction of the telescopic antenna for optimal reception.

FM Mode

Select FM mode and press for automatic scanning. Presets are stored automatically upon scan completion.

For manual tuning, rotate the knob to adjust frequency in 0.05MHz steps.

Preset Station

Your radio can store up to 40 DAB and 40 FM stations for quick access.

  1. Tune to the desired station.
  2. Press and hold the button to enter the "Preset Store" list. Select the preset number using and press to confirm.
  3. Use the 3 preset buttons to save and recall channels quickly. Press and hold to store.
  4. Existing presets can be replaced by following the same procedure.

Recall a Preset Station: Briefly press the button. Rotate to find the station, then press to recall.

Note: Existing presets will be overwritten by new ones. DAB presets do not overwrite FM presets.

Main Menu of DAB Mode

When listening to DAB, press and hold to access the main menu:

  • Scan: Scan for DAB stations.
  • Manual Tune: Enter manual tuning to select frequencies (5A to 13F) and scan.
  • Prune Invalid: Remove stations that can no longer be received. Select "yes" to delete.
  • Sleep: Set the sleep timer. Options available. Select timer duration or "Off" to cancel.
  • Time/Date: 5 settings: Set Time/Date, Hour System (12/24hr), Date Format (DD/MM/YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY), Clock Style (Analog/Digital), Auto Update (recommended for DAB).
  • Backlight: Adjust brightness (High, Medium, Low) and Timeout (Off, 10sec-180sec). "Off" keeps backlight on constantly.

Main Menu of FM Mode

While in FM mode, press and hold to access the main menu. Options include:

  • Scan setting: Choose "Strong station" or "All station" scan.
  • Audio setting: Select "Mono" or "Stereo". "Mono" provides better reception for weak signals.
  • System: Options are similar to DAB mode (excluding manual tune and prune invalid). Refer to DAB section.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Radio not turning on/not working: Connect USB cable to charge battery and try again.

No DAB reception: Perform "Factory Reset", adjust antenna length/direction, move radio near a window, or perform a full scan from the main menu.

Poor radio reception: Adjust antenna length/direction. Ensure no other electrical equipment is too close to the radio causing interference.

No sound: Adjust volume level. Try changing radio channels to see if sound is present; it may be a reception or broadcast issue.
