5. Einrichtung und Installation

5.1 Montage des Transformators

The transformer should be mounted vertically on a sturdy surface, such as a wall or post, at least 1 foot (30 cm) above ground level. Use the provided mounting hole template to mark drill points.

  1. Place the mounting hole template on the desired surface and mark the two drill points.
  2. Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. Insert the provided anchors if mounting into masonry.
  3. Secure the transformer to the surface using the provided mounting screws. Ensure it is firmly attached.

5.2 Connecting Low Voltage Verkabelung

Before connecting any wires, ensure the transformer is unplugged from the main power supply.

  1. Strip approximately 1/2 inch (1.2 cm) of insulation from the ends of your low-voltage Landschaftsbeleuchtungskabel.
  2. Connect one wire from your lighting circuit to a 'COM' (Common) terminal.
  3. Connect the other wire from your lighting circuit to either a '12V' or '15V' terminal, depending on the voltage requirements of your lights and desired brightness. For longer cable runs or higher wattage, 15V may be preferred to compensate for voltage fallen.
  4. Tighten the screw terminals securely to ensure good electrical contact.

5.3 Connecting the Photocell Sensor

The detachable photocell sensor allows for automatic dusk-to-dawn operation. Plug the sensor cable into the dedicated port at the bottom of the transformer. Position the sensor in a location that receives natural light and is not obstructed by artificial light sources at night.

6. Bedienungsanleitung

Once installed and wired, plug the transformer into a standard 120VAC outlet. The digital display will illuminate.

6.1 Einstellen der Uhr

  1. Press the 'MENU' button until 'CLOCK' is displayed or the clock icon flashes.
  2. Use the '▲' and '▼' buttons to adjust the hour, then press 'OK' to confirm.
  3. Repeat for minutes and AM/PM setting.

6.2 Auswahl der Betriebsmodi

The transformer offers 5 operating modes. Press the 'MENU' button to cycle through the modes and use 'OK' to select or confirm settings.

  • Manuell Ein/Aus: Lights remain on or off until manually changed. Press 'OK' to toggle between ON and OFF.
  • Auto Ein/Aus: Lights turn on at dusk and off at dawn, controlled by the photocell sensor.
  • Photo On/Timer Off: Lights turn on at dusk (via photocell) and turn off after a set duration (e.g., 4, 6, 8 hours). Use '▲' and '▼' to set the duration.
  • Timer On/Timer Off: Lights turn on and off at specific programmed times. Set ON time and OFF time using '▲' and '▼' buttons.
  • Testmodus: Activates lights for a short period (e.g., 1 minute) to verify connections and functionality.

6.3 Speicherfunktion

The transformer includes a memory function that retains your selected operating mode and settings even after a power outage, eliminating the need for frequent re-programming.

7. Wartung

  • Periodically inspect the transformer casing for any signs of damage or corrosion.
  • Ensure all wire connections are tight and free from debris.
  • Keep the photocell sensor clean and free from obstructions to ensure accurate dusk-to-dawn operation.
