Getting Started

Charging

Connect the camera to a power adapter or USB charging port using the included micro-USB cable. The camera will turn on automatically. For more effective charging, turn the camera off. A red charging indicator light stays on during charging and turns off when fully charged. Charging takes approximately 2 hours with a power adapter (not included).

Turning the Camera On/Off

Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn the camera on or off. When powered on, two LED status indicators will light up, and the display will turn on.

Using a Micro SD Card

The camera does not have internal storage and requires a micro SD card (Class 10 or higher recommended, up to 64GB max) for operation. Use a high-quality, branded card for reliability. Insert the card into the slot and format it via the camera's system settings to prepare it for use. Formatting erases all data on the card.

Camera Modes

After booting, press the mode button to cycle between video and photo modes. Press and hold the OK button for 2 seconds to access different recording modes, playback mode, settings mode, or to exit.

Different Recording Modes

Video Mode

  • Press the OK button to start or end recording.
  • Press and hold the Down button for 2 seconds to turn audio recording on/off.
  • Press and hold the OK button for 2 seconds, then press the Down button twice to enter video settings (Resolution, White Balance, Exposure, Metering mode, Sharpness, Video quality, IS Time watermark, Audio recording).
  • Available Resolutions: 4K(30fps), 2.7K(30fps), 1080p(120fps), 1080p(60fps), 1080p(30fps), 720p(240fps), 720p(120fps), 720p(60fps), 720p(30fps).
  • After changing settings, press the mode button twice to highlight the Exit icon, then press the OK button to exit settings.

Slowly Video Mode

In this mode, videos replayed at normal speed appear to move more slowly (slow motion effect).

  • Press the OK button to start or end recording.
  • Press and hold the OK button for 2 seconds, then press the Down button twice to enter slowly video settings (Slow motion speed and resolution, White Balance, Exposure, Metering mode, Sharpness, Video quality).
  • Slow motion speed and resolution options: 1080P 4X, 1080P 2X, 720P 8X, 720P 4X.
  • After changing settings, press the mode button twice to highlight the Exit icon, then press the OK button to exit settings.

Loop Recording Mode

Video is recorded in segments based on a set time.

  • Press the OK button to start or end recording.
  • Press and hold the Down button for 2 seconds to turn audio recording on/off.
  • Press and hold the OK button for 2 seconds, then press the Down button twice to enter loop recording settings (Resolution, Video length, White Balance, Exposure, Metering mode, Sharpness, Video quality, ISO, Time watermark, Audio recording).
  • Available Resolutions: 4K(30fps), 2.7K(30fps), 1080p(120fps), 1080p(60fps), 1080p(30fps), 720p(240fps), 720p(120fps), 720p(60fps), 720p(30fps).
  • Video length options: 2min, 3min, 5min.
  • After changing settings, press the mode button twice to highlight the Exit icon, then press the OK button to exit settings.

Time-lapse Video Mode

Videos are compressed to a set time length, creating a time-lapse effect (e.g., capturing one frame per second and playing back at 30 frames per second for a 30x speed increase).

  • Press the OK button to start or end recording.
  • Press and hold the OK button for 2 seconds, then press the Down button twice to enter Time-lapse recording settings (Resolution, Interval, White Balance, Exposure, Video length, Metering mode, Sharpness, Video quality, ISO).
  • Available Resolutions: 4K, 2.7K, 1080P, 720P.
  • Interval options: 0.5s, 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s, 30s, 60s.
  • Video length options: Unlimited, 6s, 8s, 10s, 20s, 30s, 60s, 120s.
  • After changing settings, press the mode button twice to highlight the Exit icon, then press the OK button to exit settings.

Photo Mode

  • Press the OK button to take photos.
  • Press and hold the OK button for 2 seconds, then press the Down button twice to enter photo settings (Resolution, White Balance, Exposure, Metering mode, Sharpness, Long Exposure, ISO, Time watermark).
  • Available Resolutions: 20MP, 16MP, 13MP, 8MP.
  • After changing settings, press the mode button twice to highlight the Exit icon, then press the OK button to exit settings.

Auto-Timer Mode

The camera continuously takes photos after a set time interval.

  • Press the OK button to take photos.
  • Press and hold the OK button for 2 seconds, then press the Down button twice to enter auto-timer settings (Resolution, Interval, White Balance, Exposure, Metering mode, Sharpness, ISO, Time watermark).
  • Available Resolutions: 20MP, 16MP, 13MP, 8MP.
  • After changing settings, press the mode button twice to highlight the Exit icon, then press the OK button to exit settings.

Burst Photo Mode

Take multiple pictures in rapid succession with a single press of the OK button.

  • Press the OK button to take photos.
  • Press and hold the OK button for 2 seconds, then press the Down button twice to enter burst photo settings (Resolution, Photo Frequency, White Balance, Exposure, Metering mode, Sharpness, ISO, Time watermark).
  • Available Resolutions: 20MP, 16MP, 13MP, 8MP.
  • Frequency options: 3P/s, 5P/s, 10P/s.
  • After changing settings, press the mode button twice to highlight the Exit icon, then press the OK button to exit settings.

Timer Mode

The camera takes a photo after a specified countdown.

  • Press the OK button to take photos.
  • Press and hold the OK button for 2 seconds, then press the Down button twice to enter timer settings (Resolution, Countdown, White Balance, Exposure, Metering mode, Sharpness, ISO, Time watermark).
  • Available Resolutions: 20MP, 16MP, 13MP, 8MP.
  • Countdown options: 3s, 5s, 10s, 20s.
  • After changing settings, press the mode button twice to highlight the Exit icon, then press the OK button to exit settings.

Playback and Settings Mode

Playback Mode

  • In any recording mode, press and hold the OK button for 2 seconds, then press the Down button once and the OK button to enter playback mode.
  • Use the Up/Down buttons to select pictures or videos. For videos, press OK to play/pause and Up/Down to rewind/fast-forward.
  • To delete a file, press and hold the OK button for 2 seconds until a delete confirmation appears. Use Up/Down to select 'Confirm' and press OK to delete. The camera then moves to the next file.
  • To exit playback mode and return to recording mode, press the mode button.

Settings Mode

Access settings by pressing and holding the OK button for 2 seconds, then pressing the Down button twice and the OK button.

  • Press the mode button to switch between system settings and recording mode settings.
  • Use the Up/Down buttons to highlight a setting and press OK to enter it. Press OK again to confirm changes.
  • To exit settings, press the mode button to move down to the Exit icon and press OK.
  • Available Settings:
    • Image Rotation: On/Off
    • Wi-Fi: On/Off
    • Light Source Frequency: Auto/50Hz/60Hz
    • LED Indicator: On/Off
    • Auto Screen Saver: Off/30s/1min/2mins. (The screen goes black after inactivity, press any button to wake it.)
    • Auto Power Off: Off/3mins/5mins/10mins. (The camera shuts down automatically after inactivity.)
    • Beep sound: High/Middle/Low/Off. (Adjusts sound feedback for button presses.)
    • Language: English, Español, Portugues, Русский, 简体中文, 繁体中文, Deutsch, Italiano, Français, 日本語.
    • Time Format: YYYY/MM/DD, MM/DD/YYYY, DD-MM-YYYY.
    • Time Set: Use Up/Down buttons to change values, press OK to move to the next item. Press the mode button to save and exit time setting. (Note: If the battery is removed or power is lost, the time resets and needs to be set again.)
    • Date Set: Use Up/Down buttons to change values, press OK to move to the next item. Press the mode button to save and exit date setting.
    • Format: Format/Cancel. (Formats the memory card, deleting all data.)
    • Factory Reset: Confirm/Cancel. (Restores all camera settings to default.)

Operating Camera via Mobile Phone

Download the App

Download the "DV KING 4K" app from the App Store (iOS 7.1 or Later) or Google Play (Android 4.3 or later) to view and control the camera on your mobile device.

Wi-Fi Connection

Connect your phone wirelessly to the camera to view the live feed, control the camera, and download recordings.

  • Turn on the camera, then press and hold the Up button for 2 seconds to enable Wi-Fi.
  • On your phone, switch on Wi-Fi and scan for connections.
  • Connect to "ActionCam****" with the password "1234567890".
  • Open the "DV KING 4K" app on your phone.
  • To turn off Wi-Fi and disconnect, press the Up button again.

Note: When using the mobile phone, the camera screen will stay off. The camera can only connect to one device at a time. Wi-Fi connection consumes more battery power; avoid using it when the battery is low.

Operating Camera via the 2.4GHz Remote Control

Use the remote control's photo (red button) or video (gray button) to take pictures or record videos. The remote operates in the current mode or switches to standard photo/video mode. The remote uses a CR2025 cell battery, which can be replaced by unscrewing the four small screws on the back of the case.

Camera Mount Assembly and Application

This action camera includes a variety of mount parts for diverse configuration options and applications. The camera can be mounted on bicycles, vehicles, helmets, clothing, and more. Below are common configurations:

  • Configuration 1: A mount bracket is attached to the camera, allowing it to be fixed to various surfaces.
  • Configuration 2: Various clips, connectors, and mounting brackets are assembled together to create a versatile mounting system.
  • Configuration 3: The camera is placed in its housing and then attached to a mounting bracket.
  • Configuration 4: A mount clip connects the camera to a mounting bracket, enabling flexible positioning.

Users can arrange and use these parts according to their specific situation and desired use.

Product Care & Use

  • Keep the camera away from liquids (unless using the waterproof case), extreme heat, and strong magnetic fields.
  • Ensure the camera is mounted safely and securely to prevent accidents or damage.
  • Always pay attention to your surroundings and safety while using the camera.
  • Wipe off any dust and water from the camera after each use.
  • Gently clean the camera lens with the included lens-cleaning cloth when necessary.
  • Keep the camera out of the waterproof case when storing it.
  • Back up your videos and photos elsewhere to protect against file corruption or loss due to extreme conditions or SD card issues.
  • If the camera crashes or becomes unresponsive, disconnect and reconnect the battery to reset it. Alternatively, turn it off for a short period to allow it to cool down.
