Cutting heating costs with no compromise on comfort
“SRC plus” single room control system integrated into the heat generator: Intelligent heating control reduces energy costs
The lower the system temperature of a heating system, the higher the savings potential – the new intelligent SRC plus single room control system from Buderus takes advantage of this effect. It adapts the heat generated by the heat pump or condensing boiler exactly to the heat requirements of the individual rooms and thus lowers the average system temperature. As a result, end customers benefit from lower heating costs: Compared to a weather-compensated control system, SRC plus can reduce the annual electricity consumption of a heat pump by up to 25 percent. Lowering the room temperature by 1 °C can reduce the energy consumption of a condensing boiler by up to four percent. Another advantage: integration into the electronics of the heat generator allows the individual room control system to work without a separate smart home controller; the heat pump or the condensing boiler communicates directly with the digital Buderus radiator thermostats via the wireless module.
Buderus will make the new control algorithm available as of mid2023, when SRC plus will be integrated into new heat pumps, hybrid heat pump systems or condensing boilers equipped with the Logomachic BC400 system control unit and the MX300 communication module. Convenient installation and operation: Trade partners can commission SRC plus via the Pro Work app on their smart phone without an internet connection. Commissioning the individual room control system during the construction phase or when the WiFi password is not available is therefore no problem at all. End customers use the My Buderus app for convenient operation of the entire system, including the individual room control system.
Heat as required
Conventional weather-compensated heating control systems work based on the coldest room and use a single time programme for all rooms. In addition, residents adjust the heating manually by means of the thermostats in each room. This is where the intelligent SRC plus individual room control system pays off: It is self-learning and automatically determines the characteristics of the heating curve based on the actual heat requirements in each room. Moreover, the temperature in each room is controlled individually and each room has its own time programme, which is particularly convenient for rooms that are used only at certain times. Compared to all structural energy-saving measures, the SRC plus individual room control system thus offers end customers a cost-effective energy-saving option.
Adaptive heating curve saves time and effort
For intelligent interaction in the system, the Logomachic BC400 system control unit of the heat generator communicates with the MX300 wireless module. The latter, in turn, is connected to the individual Buderus room thermostats. Up to 16 thermostats can be installed in one heating circuit, and additional weather-compensated heating circuits can be integrated. Trade partners benefit from quick and straightforward installation: No manual setting of heating curves is required – it suffices to enter the maximum permissible flow temperature for the heating circuit. The self-learning SRC plus individual room control system determines the optimum heating curve itself in just a few days and continuously adapts it to any changes. If the intelligent individual room control system from Buyers is installed, manual setting as well as subsequent time-consuming optimization of the heating curve by the heating contractor is no longer required. A further benefit of the individual room control system is that it automatically takes care of the hydraulic balancing of radiators and that it is eligible for subsidies thanks to TÜV certification – this greatly facilitates the installer’s work, especially in existing buildings where no information about the piping is available.
Fast commissioning
SRC plus can be commissioned without connection to the internet. Heating contractors simply connect the Pro Work app to the local hotspot of the MX300 wireless module. End customers can then link the My Buderus app to the MX300 module at any time. The thermostats can be quickly and easily integrated into the system and assigned to individual rooms by scanning their QR code with a smart phone.
