Safety Instructions

Always prioritize safety when operating high-pressure equipment. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury or damage to the product.

  • Read the Manual: Fully understand all instructions before operating the pump.
  • Eye Protection: Always wear appropriate eye protection when operating the pump.
  • Maximum Pressure: Do not exceed the maximum rated pressure of the pump (4000PSI / 27.58 MPa) or the maximum pressure of the item being inflated.
  • Ventilation: Use the pump in a well-ventilated area.
  • Check Connections: Ensure all connections are secure and free of leaks before and during operation.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the pump during operation.
  • Hot Parts: The pump cylinder may become hot during prolonged use. Avoid direct contact.
  • Do Not Disassemble Under Pressure: Never attempt to disassemble the pump or its components while it is under pressure.
  • Proper Storage: Store the pump in a dry, cool place, out of reach of unauthorized users.

Setup

Follow these steps to assemble your PCP hand pump and perform an initial pressure test.

  1. Assemble Components: Install the foot pedal onto the base of the pump, secure the handle to the top piston rod, and attach the outlet hose to the pump's connection port. Ensure all connections are tightened securely.
  2. Initial Unloaded Pumping: Before connecting to any device, run the pump unloaded for approximately 100 cycles. This helps to lubricate internal components and ensure smooth operation.
  3. Attach Test Plug and Relief Valve: Connect the pressure test plug to the end of the hose. If your model includes a pressure relief valve, ensure it is properly attached and closed.
  4. Perform Pressure Test: Pump several cycles and observe the pressure gauge. Check all connections for any air leaks. If leaks are detected, tighten connections or inspect O-rings for damage. The pump should hold pressure without significant drop.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for safe and efficient inflation:

  1. Connect to Device: Select the appropriate adapter for your device (e.g., air rifle, tire, ball, kayak) and securely connect it to the pump's hose. Then, connect the adapter to the device you wish to inflate.
  2. Positioning: Place the pump on a stable, flat surface. Stand with your feet on the foot pedal to stabilize the pump.
  3. Pumping Technique:
    • Pull the handle up to about 90% of its full extension. Keep your arms locked and lean slightly forward.
    • Squat down, using your full body weight to keep your arms locked, and press the handle down completely.
    • Pull up with your back straight, maintain arm position, and repeat the motion.
  4. Monitor Pressure: Continuously monitor the pressure gauge during inflation. Stop pumping once the desired pressure is reached, ensuring not to exceed the maximum pressure rating of your device or the pump.
  5. Disconnect: Once inflation is complete, slowly open the pressure relief valve (if applicable) to release any residual pressure in the hose. Then, carefully disconnect the hose from your device.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your pump.

  • Oil-Water Separator Filter: The pump features an integrated oil-water separator. Regularly check and replace the filter element to ensure dry air delivery and prevent moisture from entering your device. Replacement filter cotton pads are included in the accessory kit.
  • Lubrication: Periodically lubricate the pump's piston and O-rings with silicone oil to maintain smooth operation and prevent wear. Refer to the accessory kit for appropriate lubricant if provided.
  • Cleaning: Keep the exterior of the pump clean and free from dirt and debris. Use a damp cloth for cleaning. Do not use harsh chemicals.
  • Storage: Store the pump in a clean, dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
