1 Introduction
The intent of this document is to provide initial product service information to resellers and managed print service providers. It is not intended for end-user or customer use.
About Service Cost Data
The data contained within this document reflects estimates made without actual field data and is intended as a guideline. Confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements apply to the use of the information contained herein. Actual product performance is dependent on several factors, including, but not limited to, type of usage or workflows, environmental conditions, media types, and proper preventative maintenance. In circumstances where a contract, CarePack, or other service uplift option exists, refer to the terms and conditions established by the service uplift document to determine how service for customer replaceable parts will be managed. NOTE: All maintenance and service parts are required to be replaced by a qualified service technician authorized by HP Inc. To be qualified, a technician must complete training (Web-based training) for this product, take all specified pre-requisite courses, and pass the qualification exam during the training. For more information on training requirements, see the Installation Training section.
Introduction 1

2 Estimates for Print Usage, Volumes, and Operational Cost Per Page

Learn about average monthly print volume (AMPV), recommended print volumes, maximum usage estimates, and web-based reference tools for failures.

Recommended Print Volumes and Maximum Usage Estimates
Learn about the recommended print volumes and maximum usage estimates.
Recommended Monthly Print Volume (RMPV): The estimated number of images printed per month by the average target customer for the product.
In most cases, using the product within this range will ensure the most efficient total cost per page.
Maximum Monthly Usage (Duty Cycle): A term used broadly in the printer industry to communicate the robustness of the device. It is the estimated maximum capability of the device.

Operational Cost per Page
Learn about the estimated operational cost per page.
Operational Cost Per Page (OCPP): An estimate, based upon several factors, that can be used to provide a general benchmark of the actual operational cost of using the product based upon selected page volumes, consumable life, engine life, and other user entered data.

2 Chapter 2 Estimates for Print Usage, Volumes, and Operational Cost Per Page

Because OCPP is based upon individual usage and service delivery models, OCPP might vary between user environments. Authorized providers and support staff can use the following link to access the OCPP tool located on Sales Central: https://z.hpsalescentral.com After opening HP Sales Central, access the tool by opening the following menus: Transact (at the top of the page), Product Configurator, Configure, and then selecting Estimated OCPP.

3 Estimated Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)

Learn about the estimated mean time to repair (MTTR) per service part and the associated part numbers. MTTR is the average time required to remove and replace an individual part in the product.
NOTE: MTTR does not reflect the time taken to validate the part and check whether the system is working properly or not.
MTTR Service Parts is the average time required to replace an individual service part. These times are for experienced and trained technicians.
MTTR Maintenance and Consumables is the average time required to replace a Maintenance part in the product.
NOTE: All MTTR numbers are subject to change until serviceability design is complete or with future changes and improvements. These numbers represent the average time to replace one part. Some kits contain multiple parts. Complete installation times might vary.

Learn about the number of images that a printer is designed to print in its lifetime, and the rated life for each consumable.

Product Life

Learn about the product life or the number of images the product was designed to process.

The product life is the number of images the product was designed to perform at a given failure rate. The product will continue to work past this number of images; however, the MIBF will decrease as the product is used.

Actual engine life is dependent on several factors such as usage, environmental conditions, and proper preventative maintenance.

Learn about part stocking for Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) and lower-level service parts within a FRU.
The parts stock strategy applies to Field Replaceable Units (FRU) and lower level service parts within a FRU (where service is possible to perform).
NOTE: Parts replacement instructions and videos for FRU's and some lower level parts are available in the product Service Manual and WISE portal for authorized service technicians.
Recommended service stock level (RSSL Stock): This term refers to the suggested parts that a service technician should have available or in stock when servicing a product.
